Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm:
Corded to effect,
Like a ripple,
Swamp not so dismal,
Stressed and unstressed,

The play was a dismal flop
She went to a coffee shop
She saw the villain
In act of killin'
Scrumming in the room nonstop
Piercing through the stone
Bright rays of hope liberate
The dismal boulders
For Raul Moreno's 'Guiding Light' contest
Gray light penetrates
Ocean of candescence
Above me laying idle
To hope on this dismal day-
For these constraints to absolve
In my chemically imbalanced mind,
All I can do is detest.
Wandering my dismal world of the blind,
Anxious of what’ll transpire next.
she is caught off guard
anger rears out of her heart
snake like words come forth
he jumps back as if bitten
relationship dismal now
Allure mountains rain down on valleys weep
Dismal dismiss the challenges you keep

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr © 2021
cloud clumps weave lattice
of dismal dusk on tree crown
wilted willow weeps…
melts away after sad night
sparkling new dawn embraces
A fill up with gas can cause pain
And cramps up our style as we strain
For cures less dismal
Like Pepto Bismol
Or a car with EV drive train
I’ll light new year candles of hope in dismal hearts dark and disowned

My, oh my, it's a dismal day
My song has been canceled
Bluebirds in dismay

Disney took me away
The way a Crow shook down on me
The dust of Snow from a Hemlock tree
Has saved some part of a dismal Mood
That I had on another day.
Conception of a bloodstained cross
Can be perceived a threshold loss,
As piteous as piety
When rage of age destroys its gloss
And ends a dismal dynasty.
Irrational views of all virulent kinds
Are among the slow-witted expected,
But often they mark more intelligent minds,
Making these the more gravely infected.
Mourning her lover
She wore the black widows weeds
Yet remembered when,
Life was a dismal affair.
Used and bruised like a crushed leaf.

I stand alone
in the barren wastleland of my mind.
Colors twitch and flicker across a pale sky,
the only light in this dismal world.
And I cry for all that is lost.
Form:
Yet whilst ajar, my hopes are wafer thin,
as door is slight, then wide awake am I
constraint of dismal days without reply
hopeful that if somehow, light shines in.
Form:
I’ll apologise here at the start
For this verse won’t appeal to your heart.
So banal, it’s a shame
But I’ll shoulder the blame
’Cos it's not rude, nor funny, nor smart!
Doomsday’s dismal dawn, in the deep distance,
Is our dusk, the diadem of decadence;
Daunting and depthless, a dark and doleful dirge
Deems this dungeon of demons due for death

the room, she sits, hair wild and free,
emerge from your dismal shell and join the human race.
Thank you, again, J, for your input.
Day passes waiting
And when silence seem to be lone company
Sunsets in hope
Beacon of hope
When the nigh falls in the shadows of dismal
Sunrise of hope

calling the dark, dismal, fear involved, painfully grotesque, cemetery, she’s still gone

Another needless squabble
Leaves him fatigued
Like faded fabric
With frayed fringes
Another dismal day
And he’s left disappointed
Depleted and depressed
A discard
It’s damn dangerous
I know a woman in Birmingham
Her marriage is a pitiful sham,
She plays around
She tries new ground,
And gives it up, not giving a damn.
Written October 2, 2022
This morning dawned
With drab, dismal dread
Portending debouchment
Of unearthly evil:
Yes, fear haunts the air,
So heed me—doom nears!
Oh, witchcraft and spirits
Shall sully our night.
