Desultory Thoughts
Desire, unfathomable
And all consuming.
Wretch, me
From shallow bed
Make enemies of shadows.
None to clear what
Thinkest thy eye's mind
And mine
Unfathomable desire....

Gossamer wings lift them to freedom
Happy princess devourer
Nemesis of knights’ tales

Premium Member A Violet For Shiva
In a dim, desolate bog,
between the wavering shadows,
a violet shows its clear blue face
to the wan, desultory sun—
a sweet, pristine reminder
of perennial rotations—
rebirth, dissolution,
waxing from the waning;
all haunting and sublime....

drifting ...
desultory and dour
tossed by a testament tide of
the ocean, mortal -
weary, waterlogged wood
shed in a storm by some mighty oak
intended of grander things
now bare and barkless
smooth, stiff, sullen atop the sea
all those dark, oily devils
drowned in the depths
beseeching me -
"swallow!"...

Premium Member The Forever Wedding
Demure young maiden
A bucolic bungalow
A fallen hero

Situation hot
Gray thick diaphanous smog
Cannot cool it

Desultory dance
A quick surreptitious
Fine country wedding

Grandma’s tailsmen
The bride adorned with daisies
Murmurous rumors

A nonchalant groom
A sempiternal set up
Quintessential joy...

Desmond Tutu strove hard to battle desultory extremity?
Humanity's hurdle is to sustain and esteem diversity.

One day, He saw a "Whites Only" sign on the exterior bath gate.
Said, "What is the difference between white and black pee fate?"

Face of a Dead Woman
On her face the portrayal:
Was undeserved betrayal:
While resting in mortuary;
Later in her obituary.
But her photo had come first:
A scream-it-to-The World thirst.

But I have my own challenge:
What would finding a thing change?
Lies that could break a strong heart:
She’d shoplifted in a mart?
Or whisper desultory
Alleging adultery
“Man had been a betrayer,
Her face ‘not First Soothsayer…”...

Speak No Evil
Speak No Evil

As I sit enjoying the penumbra of the crepuscular sky,
Suddenly all hell breaks loose, as I hear a sonorous cry.
“I have no room for jealousy or a cynical upheaval!”
With exuberant energy, my quick response, yet, I Speak No Evil!
Matters not the visceral thought behind this desultory exchange,
All minds clear, with visual halcyon recall, of an opulent coastal range.

Autumn Scene
AUTUMN SCENE

A deserted outdoor café -
Empty tables piled in corner,
Sun-umbrella, collapsed in desultory
Flapping, and folded wetly to itself.

Concrete planter box with pansies -
Tired, wilted, droopy, washed out;
Discarded ice-cream wrappers -
A watery white smudge on the kerb.

Bare wet sidewalk reflecting her legs,
Raindrops spitting onto her glasses,
A woman hurrying with her umbrella,
Stepping quickly round the puddles....

She adored her old, crepuscular cat,
Penumbra, and could see no evil in
his ways, visceral, quick to hiss at
strangers, cynical of almost everyone,
jealousy in him was always overdone.
Desultory, and all it constituted
exuberant, only when it suited,
his needs were opulent, never spare.
Halcyon days with kind deeds unrefuted,
his sonorous purrs were like a morning prayer.

Speak No Evil

My love for the lady is visceral, sweet,
Absent of jealousy, immune to deceit.
Whether near daybreak or crepuscular night,
Her penumbra defeats the ambient light.
Do not cloud my thoughts with your cynical views,
Desultory comments advanced to abuse.
I accept in the halcyon part of my mind
The opulent fiction she loves me in kind.
Thus in ways sonorous, exuberant all,
Speak well of the siren who keeps me in thrall.

Land of the Free
Letting go of everything for today
Acting as there wasn't a care in the world
Not knowing when dawn came
Desultory we are not

Oh, how it feels to be free
Fabricating our lives out of greatness

Tearjerkers not allowed beyond this point
Headstrong on having fun
Embracing the joy and happiness

Free of all our worries and problems
Reuniting with all you old friends
Elegant as the royals
Energized still, even after hours

 LAND OF THE FREE!...

See No Evil - Ten Word Challenge
The halcyon days of my youth were full of exuberant teenagers,
with a fire built and music blaring they,
danced under the crepuscular light,
with loud drunken sonorous,
much to the annoyance of the local opulent farmer who,
was cynical about the drunks not moving from his land,
then an eerie Penumbra silenced the drunks,
they sensed a visceral fear of change among them,
while they sat in a desultory mess,
jealousy was not too far behind.

No Evil
This noiseless nightfall, the penumbra of this desultory night,
Muted, hushed without your sonorous lies.
Silent without your cynical jealousy, your vindictive desire;
The halcyon comfort of your assured wickedness.
This soft daybreak, filled with crepuscular fog,
Quiet without you somehow, without your cruelty.
Your visceral viciousness and deception and malice,
Your opulent sin, malevolent intents,
Trickery and illusions, almost exuberant sin.
I hear no evil this night....

Peregrinate Dreams
Desultory thoughts drift round hazy aura,
swiftly flipping folios mottled by time.
Tattered snapshots emanate sadness and joy,
yesterday’s archives.

Softly creeping reveries sashay feelings,
forming ever imminent fervent cravings,
tender written curlicues of hope and love,
harvested daily.

Peregrinate dreams glide through lucid portals,
traverse leas of ravenous risky passion,
driven by pure avarice changing values,
forging tomorrows.
