If Ever I Grow Despondent

if ever i grow despondent
about this, that or the other thing

War

Despondent
Torn apart
By chaos

Mothers cry
Fathers sigh
Children lost

Twilight blues
Morning mourn
War and strife

Thru cracks in the clouds
    whitish sun glints
  No warmth issues forth
    barren rock without flint

  Clouds return ash-gray

    done, today's stint

Shattered Mirrors

Trapped by a promise
 exitway
closed

Memories held captive
hope
long deposed

Dreams
shattered mirrors
shards that implode

Sentenced to wander
despondent
I go

Despondent, One Dreary Day

From on high, only by Him
How throned o'er, thought of?
When as prompt, through each flash
Rainbow's, ray's, re-sent
The heartening mercy!
The heart-warming love!
To believe, must we bear
Full-faced God's descent?
Form: Rhyme

The Name Jesus

Despondent, falling
Or more dire
That foothold, beneath
Now gives way;
The green Earth's, and life's!
As sinks day.

Needful of uplift
A hand's, heart's
Both soft, for mercy
As strong lit
Sky, Heaven, rending
Shout, scream it.

Sit (Broken Hearted Rondel)

I sit.
Outside your window.
Mournful.
Despondent.
Heart has broken in twain.
I feel nothing but pain.
I scream your name.
Silence.
Dawn appears.
Rosy fingers stretch across-
The dew laden grass.
Yet still.
Outside your window.
I sit.

Premium Member Wandering In the Storm-

Walking in the storm; Was drenched all alone; I am going home; Drying myself and my clothes; Wet, no longer; Yet still I'm a loner; Despondent out wandering in the storm

A Child's Visit Past

The days we shared are past,
Your left presence is hovering,
No one to bring me my glass,
Blanketed knees covering.

Like a drug, I must have a you fix,
And like a drug must suffer withdrawal,
I despondent wait for your sunshine,
Tomorrow and morrow and morrow.

Premium Member The Rain Clouds

Waking up to heavy clouds of dark grey
Inside her head they loom there all day
Pools of salty water fill her despondent eyes
Streams of tears cascade as she silently cries
Perhaps the rain clouds will all dissipate tomorrow
And some sunlight will chase away the sorrow

EARLY LIFE

Shut behind the door, believing in kinship
Forenoon the scars on mother paraylzed me
Every knife calling out as a saviour
The smiles seem a distant dream
Goblins dreams turned into a hell fire
Each passing day brought a despondent
Childhood poems swinged towards bruises..

Premium Member Imagination ,,, But Not a Nonette Yet

Despondent
we felt
doing deeds
donned by illusions of necessity.

Drat
we thought
disowning our dignity
drowning our dignity
driving our dignity
down into delusions of
dominance.

Do-di-do-do
we knew
when spontaneously
life came to the streets

and we did
what we
know how to do.

Sweet

Sugar is sweet But, too much of it makes you sick And may die diabetic and despondent. Love is sweet But too much of it makes you insolvent And may die too dependent. Better moderate and milder As it makes you somber But the sweetest word ever Is LOVING YOU forever!

Premium Member Blessed

Harassed,hasselled,harried
temporarily tarried
tormented and troubled.
Yet blessed !
Feeble,forlorn or friend-less
powerless,forsaken and distressed.
Yet blessed !
Beset,burdens to confess
suffering,perhaps oppressed.
Yet blessed !
Despondent and thwarted
in frustration and failure.
Yet blessed !

Rainbow

A fleeting spectrum
Born from chaos
Silence after catastrophe
Lure of an ugly face
Trivial, ephemeral and desolate
You are not beautiful
You are vague
A mirage
Dangerous hope of despondent heart
You will vanish, You are
You cannot make me fall
Not this time, Not anymore
Go Rainbow! Vacate my sky

Another Day

Hopping into the mist,
Which was growing colder,
With each dwindling dusk sunray,
I was hurtling into mysterious night dark,
Quite despondent and hapless,
By the lurid events of the day,
I was held afloat,
By a dozing nightingale on a twig,
That still harked,
Do not worry,
Tomorrow will be another day.

Premium Member The Season Has Turned

Warm breezes gone
  green grass is rust brown
Leaves breathed their last
  the season has turned

Clouds sail across sky
  a despondent gray
No friendly scenes
  no chipmunks at play

Rabbits down holes
  birds flown away
You and I head indoors...
  Your head on my shoulder
   ~ pause at the doorway

The Stars Tonight

Luminosity of the despondent star in the celestial land above
Had grown to be caliginous in nature
Dwindled its crimson gleam

Dissolved into newfound restlessness,
Parched, dark, waterless spring
Entreating for even a luster

Named a blessing buried underneath cloaks
The last cries of
A twinkle.

Flicker.
