THE MAN FROM ALEPPO

There was a man from Aleppo
Used to work at the goods depot
Home, no windows or roof
This is sure living proof
He is now living in a ghetto . . . : (

Home Depot Does Not Sell Azure Paint
Home Depot does not sell azure paint.
No. They do have Morning Sky,
Tropical Lagoon, Morning Breeze,
Ocean Cruise, Cozumel, Empress Teal,
Almost Aqua, and Navy. But no azure.
No cyan, either. No plain ol' blue.
I will take my verdant money elsewhere.
Home Depot should be more poet friendly.

The Charge of the Light Brigade
Once in Home Depot
I was in the lighting aisle,
when a horde of aproned workers
descended down from a quarter mile
With hundreds of cartons of bulbs,
They were very bright I guess
I had to jump out of the way,
My bundles now a mess
So now you know how
It got the name, but one
thing more I must say,
They would not take cash,
I had to charge it all that day....

The Hurt
by Mark Miller © 12/21/2016

Void of heart's love,
Desolate doldrums above-

Mournful Melancholia,
Morose melody-

Severed goodbyes,
Time doleful cry's

Deject filled grief,
Subject denied relief

Internal aches,
Death's depot awaits-

Complicit plot,
Sculpted lies a flock-

Head out west,
For blissful rest-

Forever in wait,
Flames heat passion
?...

Punctuation Station
Punctuation Station

i wish that somewhere in my mind
there was dots and other marks
to separate the billion thoughts
just dying to get out
a little depot where the rails
would meet and switch their load
so i could finally understand
and my story could be told
i hear the little whistle blow
before i jump the track
and go to places where it seems
i'm never coming back

Flea market trip
Surprise now grips

Odd and quaint meet
In a strange street

Feel random urge
Confer raw surge

Stroll in slow pace
Watch offers trace

We walk around
Check out wares found

Time for some fun
Grace autumn run

Old bus depot
Buy stuff also

Sunday crowd strays
Come by this way

Fancy a spree
As bargains tee

Premium Member Search That Bus
The depot was in despair. So many lost kids were there. Kids left behind on the bus, it was being blamed on us. The lowly bus driver. That’s me. Told to search our buses thoroughly, For kids left behind by parents unkind, or lil kids falling asleep to unwind. I removed the bus’s engine with a smile, I carried it up and down the isle. Not a child was to be found, as I carried my search engine around.

An Unknown Alone
He works alone
in cavernous stockrooms,
or as a night watchman
guarding unwanted things.
He is never behind the counter.

He is the man
who has the social skills
to fill racks.
Occasionally he is found
as a clerical error,
still at work in a defunct depot
long since depleted
of function.

A yellowing Rolodex
may yet yield a contact number
like a mythical footprint.
Someone may need to call him,
but what shall we call him?...

Premium Member Around Every Virus There's a Silver Lining
She stood silently outside a Home Depot store.
In an endless serpentine Wuhan flu line.
Like everyone else, most of her face was masked.
Except her forehead and around her eyes.
Which were covered in clusters of skin tags.
Magically, beauty and the color of our skin didn't matter.
Sliced from the social equation by a globe trekker devil.
On the outside we all became equal and beautiful.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end....

Color Me Tears-Earth
Color me tears

These tears have been recycled-

not an environment saving measure,

they have been repackaged, rebranded,

recycled, reused but not reduced.

Not purified-they contain same organic

and inorganic substances.

My recycled - reused tears

which continue to flow-

from the day of the birthday suit ,to the end.

These gentle tears migrate like bottles in a depot,

Unrestrained, uncontained but never reduced...

Hey There
Hey lady, hey lady
Hire me
hire me

I have no work for you
I say
turning into Home Depot
holding my face
straight
ahead
wearing my grey hair like a shield.

Unable to look you in the eye,
I sitting unmoving as if you weren’t
right
there
in the middle of the street
right
there
hanging off the curb
waving at me.

Hey lady,
Hey lady.

I have no work for you
I say
heavy with guilt
from the bench seat of my
pickup truck....

Torment
When will I understand protection is a unconscious mutation Feeding off a unmanned ego while angels and demons cause aberration The scab is bleeding and sliding off into the depressing depot of allegation Ugly, still hiding below the repressing master of acclamation Breathe in the fresh air of the depressive headmaster Clinical and brash he has the mind of a succubus Cleave out the abrasive control with my mind racing faster Urgent to a brainwashed child, a testimony to torment

Next Station of Joy
M-aybe the next station
A-llows you to get off the train;
R-ealizing there's joy waiting,
Y-earning to forever remain.

J-uly twenty-sixth early morn,
O-ne joy sits in the next station;
Y-our heart is so excited, expecting love and affection.

E-njoyable moment to happen
S-ays about fun and cheer;
T-ogether with pure delight,
A-s well as smile and laughter.
C-reated rhyme of mine
I-s like a depot of train toy;
O-ne song I play is the succeeding,
N-ext station of joy....
