Somewhere Above Zero

There wasn’t much that winter
but what we had was enough
Warmed by wood cut in summer
when things were better.
Nor’easter nights make good dreams
and later
a clean white day

Shades of Lies

the colors of truth are cold
but the lies have shades
that are accepted in life
and the guilt that sinks
from a white shaded lie
can kill a man like a blade of steel
your concence is cut in two.

On the Button

On The Button

A sweet talker went out for a nip
At a bawdry pub where he’d get to sip
From a gal’s belly button
Of which he did cut in
But she sassed and said ‘don’t give me no lip’

Disillusioned

A magic trick
I'd often feared
You were there
Then disappeared

No rabbit pulled
From empty hat
No cute tulips
Or polished chat

I'd rather
I was cut in two
Than have to deal
With missing you

Fried Pumpkin Epulaeryu

You start with a small pumpkin.
Clean it, cut in cubes,
Fry with bacon and onions
A little butter.
Add salt and pepper
Till tender
Sigh!

Death of a Blind Man

Her hair was soft as were her eyes
Out of her beautiful lips, nothing but lies
But I was blind so very often
Untill I wound up in this couffin
Stabbed in the back heart cut in two
Her kiss left my skin dark black and cold blue

By the Door the Dog Stands

by the door the dog stands
looking inside saliva rolling
then came a missile bone

one eye went off
left ear cut in pieces
but the dog stands there

hoping one day the master
would surrender a bone in peace
or even in chaos

How Do You Know Who I Am

How do you know who I am?
I show you a side of me which is fake
I fake smile
I fake laugh
And I am strong
But only on the out side
You do not see me
You do not know me
I cry at night
I cut in the dark
And no one noes my secrets

Future Nostalgia

A retiring sun appeared cut in half,
As pinnacled rays of light,
Through breaches in the clouds,
Formed a radial lattice,
That was projected through the twilight,
Gave me a feeling of nostalgia,
For a time when things were all right.

To Dance With the Muse

Hopes and wishes step aside,
as new words cut in to dance

Painting the floor red
  in lettered steps of eternity

Partners now consonant
  a song of celebration

Whose lyrics waltz inward
  —in patterns of remembrance

Cutting In

The music stepped aside,
as the words cut in to dance

Painting the floor red
  in lettered steps of eternity

To a song now consonant
  in verses of celebration

Thoughts and feelings remarry
 —in patterns of remembrance

Thread of Love

Weaving
Of love had gone
To bring back the feeling
Cut in pieces

Trying
To put colors
That had faded of times
Like fading smile

Linking
A thread of love
To arose and let it glow
Like a rainbow

Untitled

I haven't cut in days
I get tempted but
Then something pulls me away
It whispers I don't have to go out that way

I am proud to say
I haven't cut in days.

*To you John Loving iii even though I don't really know you
Your words inspired me. Thank you!

Deep Cut

Deep cut in your heart;
Deep cut in my back -- converge,
And we are together again.

For you, life shoots out to reach --
A futile race, over-paddling its pace
More of tangible gust
Sweep you off the ground.

Wind cuts you through,
or got cut as you are through --
both are true for each of you.

Ever

roads intersect at some point
have you ever had a dead end in your life

like a cold knife sometimes eyes
have you ever frozen with a look

sleep when you are cut in the sweetest place
did you sleep again

questions never ends when hope
have you ever lived without question and without hope

Modern Math

"Woman's work is cut in half!"
The advertisements bubble,
But what they never seem to say:
"Her outside duties double!"

Community, church, club and school,
The needs are there to see.
No matter how many duties call,
There's still just one of me!

Changes

a sculpture carved without a finish......
a painting left incomplete......
a book still with a bookmark in page ten....
an emotion well hidden,well kept....
deep cut in empty heart once full of love....
forever,things left unsaid..........

You Hurt Me

My memory's my enemy
When thoughts of you pervade,
Recalling blissful times
When we laughed and played.
My mind's now full of poison
By the hurt that you created,
Disturbing all my belief's,
Reflections are serrated.
Why did you do this to me?
What motivated you?
Your words will hurt forever,
My heart's been cut in two.

The Goodness of a Pomegranate

Memories of years gone by
the fruit shop was our first call
that lovely redsome fruit
shaped like a cannonball

A pomegranate is its name
cut in half with a knife
showing those juicy red seeds
made your tongue come to life

This fruit bearing shrub
originates from Iran
has many health benefits
and is good for all of man

The Inner World

Can’t feel anything
Even the biggest pain

Blood oozing gently
From fresh wounds
Doesn’t help either
Just coloring hands

Skin cut in stripes
Showing the flesh
Scars will remind
This moment of past

Looking for help
No one has time
Trying to beg
They turn their back

What can I do?
Just sit and wait
Maybe some day
You’ll come and help...

Whispering Memories

whispering memories of times ago
when days seemed slow to me.
I feel a fugue a solemn mood,
a deep sad cut in the nights copper colored
fabric born on a lazy breeze.
I cannot smile can,t chance the while,
can,t see the where,
only feel that there was more to see,
but then i just forgot.
Forgot to know the where to go,
yes i just forgot.
