Line Gauthier
I wonder what are the criteria,
I'd meet him in a cafeteria,
Ask how he waned the entries,
Good poems from different countries,
He would say some lines act like bacteria.

Premium Member Reading Criteria For Graduation
to get a high school diploma you must be able to read at a twelfth grade level
this was in 1952
In 1972 we were told “an eleventh grade level is good enough”.
Today reading at a ninth grade level means that you graduate.
I heard that at a seminar this morning....

While ours kill with flair and finesse
Banned weapons can make a fine mess
Since guys without class
Can possess poison gas

There's hype and there's hysteria
O-bomb-a needs criteria
To send friend Bashar
Wrapped presents from afar
His gift of love for Syria...

Diteria
10:00pm
Went to sleep

2:00am
Woke up
Very sick and ill
Fell asleep

4:00am
Woke up
Not sick nor ill
But to a word
One word

Diteria
What is it
Is it a name
Is it even a word
What is it

Diteria
The opposite of criteria
The one word I woke too
What is Diteria
Maybe it’s an Omen…...

An Inventory Check
Do you have what it takes
Do you have stage legs
That won’t break?

Can you make eye contact
Do you know the difference
Between compare and contrast?

Can you weather the storm
In spite of illusionary harm?

If you meet all the criteria than you’re the one
Who’s conquered inferior and your
Confidence is superior...

Pastoral Hymn
Pastoral Hymn

Formerly, one knew on sight the ones
who walked with economic purpose.
One had criteria: the color
of their robes, the meter
of their stroll, the semaphore of their
cosmetic blare.
One knew that night for them was dawn,
that night lit bright their signal.
Today, my pastor claims,
one must inquire of them all.

Make Someone's Day
If I had a dime
     Every single time
I heard someone say
     Have a nice day!

No riches on me
     Would you ever see!
Nor money in the bank
     Would I have to yank!

Most people won't take
     The time to fake
A laugh or a smile
     Might cramp their style?

So here's an idea
Add a smile to your criteria
Make the effort, laugh and say
See yaw, have a nice day!...

*This was my first haiku written when I was a childand committed to memory.
Now that I know the rules of good haiku writing, I know this does not fit the
criteria of haiku, but thought I'd post it anyway. Originally for PD's contest,
I've decided to look for a more recent haiku of mine that is terrible, to be used
for "worst poem contest."...

Congratulations To Best 100 Poets In Last 2 Weeks - Question For Poetry Soup - Criteria For Rankings
Dear Poetry Soup: I was wondering what formula you use to choose Best Poets
Here, including Best New Poets and Best Poets in last 2 weeks. In other words what
is the criteria you use that determines these rankings? I'm sure that many new members
who post here would also like to know what procedure is used for their knowledge so they
can proceed accordingly.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Just Sixty Four
One hundred and eighty words you say
For to write a poem and make your day
Attempting a task for to do as you ask
As striving towards your criteria to meet
For me that would be such a massive feat
My poems can be too long
your attention span I’d lose
So I’ll submit
this little bit
and hope it’s mine you choose

An Idea
Every single moments,
Lots of ideas are born in our brains
Some are stupid- some are brilliants.

We need an extraordinary idea,
What can change our mental phobia
For finding idea we don't need any criteria.

We are desparate to change our world,
We need to think about that manyfold
For finding better solution we can't hold.

Just an idea we need,
If we could find out that can work as creed
We know it's a very tough job indeed....

The Courting Rule
When I was courting
Many years ago
I had a golden rule
Which I liked to follow
This ruled applied
To certain criteria
Namely that the girl
Should live in the same area
In extreme cases
A short bus ride away
As a general rule
Only one street away
But preferably
In the same street, or
In a perfect world
The house next door
My kids have no such rule
And don’t date girls in our road
In fact they won’t even date
A girl in our post code...

To Apply
I feel equivalent to an alien
as if I don't belong
for I am Pleiadian
I'm extremely headstrong

Although I understand struggle
I imagine we could still overcome
if we can learn to juggle
then to this we wouldn't succumb

Have we become to ostracism
when someone doesn't meet our criteria
magnifying a prism
as if they have diphtheria

I recognize it's difficult
but we must somehow comply
to obtain that which is Biblical
and this to apply...

Premium Member Experienced In What
What is the criteria to work in this office?
The prim interviewer began rattling off statistics
About education, degrees, experience.
I looked around at the staff I could see.
Everyone I saw was female, blonde, twenty-two, and 36, 24, 36.
They dressed in short skirts, wore high heels and their nails were points.
Not a few of them.
All of them.
Experienced in what? I wondered.
Knowing I would not make the cut.
Of course as you may have guessed, I didn’t....

1.The judicial system is on the verge of destruction.
2.It is on the mercy of dirty rich, corrupt & resourceful criminals.
3.Pakistan is a safe heaven for the criminals of all kind.
4.We are lost without any hope for redemption.
5.Criminals and gangsters should be punished.
6.The same criteria shall be imposed on violators of the constitution.

Chameleon Puddles
Chameleon Puddles

kicked the journal in the rear
because time is wasting
i don’t hear the criteria
of jettison hues and striking oranges
i'm the girl doing the prismatic happy dance
the peacock dancing through mutant rain
stopping to pop squeaky airborne bubbles
roll around in dew of purple plains
gawking at the maverick architecture
resting only to adjust the density
of my panoramic range
and then I’m up and out
splashing through lifes chameleon puddles..
again...

Criteria of a Kind
Before awarding you their prize,
They look at your size;
Not at how smart,
Soon, ordering you “To your feet rise”.
And watching how this tenses you up
Or keeps shaking your handed tea cup
Or your tolerance tries
Or up you blood cells dries
Or your flesh, not unlike chicken’s, fries
Next, ordering you to on them fasten your eyes
Leaving you to keep battling with all the possible ‘whys’
Before finally providing their lies!

Criteria of a kind
By a panel still far behind....
