Dog's Arch Nemesis

Dog's arch nemesis
coolly lurking on tree branch
protected by glass

coyly mocking dog inside
sinister plotting next move

Sheepish Smile

That sheepish smile
disarming a gruff poet
coyly offer hope

my Bridgewater seraphim
kick back wine like a sailor

Summons

Summons

drowsing, most coyly,
just beneath a placid mind
yearning, stirs a soul,
tearing it from all content
siren from afar…Petra calls.

Magical Pill

They promised me a magical pill
Said it would provide a royal thrill
My lady did coyly wink
But I missed it in a blink
And my desire we don’t fulfill

Tanka Very Much

Five fingers of joy slyly, coyly burgles; he's absconding with koi. As you like it, as you wish; carpe carpum: seize the fish! —————- POTD 0/28/2022

Feisty Fall

Crisp metamorphosis of color
Tempestuous leaves tap dance on
Tangled wind's insouciance
Wayward sun's scarlet wink
Feckless orange flirts
Fey cinnamon
Coyly bold
Feisty
Fall.

Breathless Kiss

Breathless Kiss

Sweet lips
Pouting woman
Head dips

Red hot
Quivers coyly
Sexpot!

Lust fills
Passion temptress
Kiss kills

Linger

Tingling
my spine moves slowly with each sound
"Ssshhh!!!"
you speak
again my spine quivers...shudders even

which is it?
A running horse or walking fingers?
I care not!!!
slipping into an abyss of...
well!
Coyly I smile.
Who's first?....sigh!!!

Kiss

your melting mouth, quite coyly callow

softer and sweet, as pink marshmallow

oh love, a rapture tends your scheming

upon those lips, so drips my dreaming.

When I Grow Up

When I grow up I want to be a conquistador
Seven is adamant always
Once they fall in love with a career,
that is it.

What is that? I asked.
You know, she said coyly. You had them back in the day.
Not in my day. We had no conquistadores
in my covered wagon.

Wrapped In Candy Love

Peek-a-boos winking coyly,

Ruffled by young love’s spell…

A nectarine touch, a candy-cheek kiss

Breaths scattering on moonbeams;

Wrapped in a daze

of lost innocence.

Apology

the limericks can’t be eschewed
my muse seems excessive imbued
they seep through the pores
they flood out in scores
seek nuance to coyly allude

It’s not just a trek through lewd grit
perfection is sought for, to whit
there’s meter to wrangle
inference to dangle
infinitives to boldly split

Seduction

S he coyly looked at me that day
E yes beckoning for an approach
D are I venture on my way
U nnerved by her reproach
C autiously I introduce myself
T errified her glance was misread
I nstinctively keeping my desire stealth
O bsessed with the sexuality she bled
N ot realizing she was the seducer instead

Kermit and Miss Piggy

When Kermit the Frog
Found love at his synagogue
It was unexpected
How instantly they connected

The lovely Miss Piggy
Posing right next to Twiggy
Strategically waving her doily
Batted her eyelashes coyly

A Virga In Gettysburg.

Virga
Your impression beckons me
as you slumber coyly
through the day.

I, too, can play
chords up in the jetstream
during your unfathomed dream
I can find a secret and
lock it in my pulse
until the storm.

And when the gale, vespertine,
roars and carries mountains
forth
Humbly, I deliver you
my caring vision
from the shore.

We Fence

We fence
Forward and back, coyly with words
Laughing and flirting

We fence
Evenly matched, strong wit, strong hearts
No masks, epees glinting, no protection

And just when I think I am gaining ground,
You wound me
quickly, and with no mercy

Wounded with silence
Wounded with withdrawal
As swiftly as if you pierced my heart

Silhouette of Night

SILHOUETTE OF NIGHT

Skulking in the fleeting light
as if mocking shapelessness
blended colors, mottled grey,
coyly dance on dew wet streets.
Silently dread’s shivers raise,
dark against a faded day,
fears that live within the soul.

A Mate

a mate

silver and grey hunger
sleek beneath a Spring moon
rolls coyly, playfully
in a shrouded glade

she cries out
long, low, ululations
reverberations caught,
in the silence of pine.

her need is great
she rubs her belly
across cast off cedar

brown aromatic scents
join pheromones
rise into the night
carried far.

random breezes pass
unaware of messages carried.

Extirpate the Potentate

The famed archer perches on the minaret
While the waxing moon disappears
He studies the dancing silhouettes
Waiting on the reclusive premier
The scant light of a torch coyly dances
And soon the moribund ruler emerges
The bowman knows where his allegiance is
Soon the realm will be singing dirges

The arrow hits the heart and it is rent apart
And so departs the tyrannical tetrarch

Lovers On An April Afternoon

In the doorway, you stand deliciously;
I draw you over to the bed.
And kiss your mouth as I pull your dress,
Slowly over your head.

I nip your neck and eye you coyly;
You sink into my kiss.
And as we touch, I see you buckle,
Into a sharp, awaited bliss.

Sweet lover, with skin as pure as pearls,
Like a coin that’s clean and new.
I open up my mouth to speak,
And all I say: “I do.”

Naming Crows

Call it cold rock crow when it just sits there
amidst untouchable brambles and mocks-
Call it blind crow when it pecks out its own eyes
becoming numb to injustice and violence-
Call it plug crow when it covers the ears to a plea
Call it humble crow when for God it takes a knee-
Call it Jim crow when it perches high in a nevergreen nest
separating itself and coyly looking down on the rest-

Depressed

Pendulous eyes, weary and bleak
Immoveable shadows, the unseen torrents
Coyly divulge the once impetuous spirit
On his shoulders, he carries a colossal weight
For his is a cleft vessel, rudderless and floundering
The rise and fall of each swell, brings neither hope or despair
He contemplates the gilded life, an absurd apparition
And slithers back to obscurity where the worm and dreams cohabitate

Chasing Moonbeams

Folderol and balderdash,
nonsensical, sweet whimsy.
Musical, so airily,
she prances round the elm tree.
Mimsy do, in flimsy blue
with bells upon her head, ho!
Where she goes, I do not know,
exquisite, never chintzy.
A woodland sprite, her face alight,
she coyly beckons fireflies.
Off into the dark, they go,
playing out a dance mid-flight.
Mirthfully, her friends in tow,
she’s chasing moonbeams in the night.
