Picking cotton was the annual chore,
Recording the rural life,he saw-

When darkness seeks to light upstage
and fires of fear within us rage,
win or lose, with love as heart’s muse,
feeling beauteous bliss beat hues,

Coming of age
Being a kid was awesome
Not worrying about bills,
or saving for a car
All you wanted to do was grow up
Now look,
everyone wants to go back,
be young again
Not worrying about bills,
or saving up for a car
Form:
A boy serves his parents
He thinks they are God
'Till, coming of age
He sees them as odd...
The boy, his home leaves
To a stranger now cleaves
His mother, his father, aggrieved
-- No matter --
The boy, once again, believes
Age should be worn like a cloak
A cloak of wisdom,
A cloak of kindness,
Understanding and compassion,
Strength, character, calmness
Come with the wearer of this cloak.
Years are not wasted with the coming of age
Age is the gathering of wisdom
Just twenty-one years ago
The Lord ,Jesus I came to know-
T'was this month,born anew
I met this man,who had paid my due;
Answering questions of my enquiring mind
With such patience,of the loving kind-
This day I celebrate,with love, &
Thanksgiving, to God above.

Wow! drinking, smoking and partying all night
Mini skirts, low cut blouses and pumps too
Look at what turning twenty-one can do
Coming home later and it's my choice
Waking up early to almost no voice
Time for work now, cause I'm grown
Can't wait til it's over so I can go home...

Dangerous Fools and Evil Idiots
They agree to disagree
Always spitefully fastidious
About each other’s pedigree
Always at the war, that goes
With no hope to prove who’s right
There’s no right, because it flows
Through their fingers to the light
Of forgotten source they knew
In the times of childhood years
When the mornings looked brand new
And they lived knowing no fears.
I have a tremendous fear,
It causes my shoulders a great burden,
A burden of flame and eternity,
Tomorrow I return,
Walk through the commanding doors-
Doors to the Roman Catholic Church,
Therein I was born and raised,
As I reached my coming of age I fled,
I denounced all that the church was,
I stand here now,
Proclaiming myself to be a fool,
I pray the faith welcomes their sheep with open arms.
We are the storm
we - writers of the verse
eloquent or terse
for better
or for worse
in prayer
or in curse
We hone the tip
sparing no thrust
lest weaponed words
slow gather dust
not battles need
but battles must
this vortex raging
funneled thought
releasing demons
never caught

With the passing age
Learned things about myself
That I never knew before
With each year moving
I noticed feelings inside
Both emotional
And physical I captured

As a young person you’re climbing ladders
You must fit in, you must have the right style
First unaware of what really matters
Selfishly you think all’s well for awhile
Then days of sorrow begin to weigh in
Lost love, bloody wars, hard to find a smile
No longer selfish, you dig deep within
You pray that anger ‘n conflict will cease
You open your soul, let healing begin
As you look to HIM for guidance ‘n peace.
Expectations balanced on years passed
Childhood fading schooldays are last.
In the eyes of the world your decisions are true
Your heart palpitates and you stumble through.
Life was once easy, adults took care
Now it’s just me, there’s nobody there.
You grow and you yearn for the age to come
Now you want back to when you were young.
With freedom , responsibility plays
Leaves you longing for all of those carefree days
The scissors snips strands
off my little head.
I can’t move.
“You must not ruin the surprise.”
A brown curtain,
covers my mouth and
my eyes. Her voice is calm
as she continues to lie.
Then, her hands shake
and hair falls to the floor.
A quick yelp escapes.
Droplets land on my shoulder.
And now for the truth,
she wants me ready and good.
The mirror shows our faces,
our black dresses and lilies.

THE RED HEARTS OF FAMILY, FRIENDS AND EVENTS OF HONOR
BETTY BOOP AND POPEYE THE SAILOR
GENERATION TO GENERATION
IN THE RITUAL OF INDEPENDENCE AND
OTHERNESS
EXPRESSING ONESELF IN AN EVENT FOR ALL TIMES
NOT EASY TO FORGET
NOT EASY TO ERASE
This is the place where dreams are spoken,
Where hopes are written,
And where maturity and self acceptance grow,
It is a map of my life on paper,
My accomplishments and my short comings,
My loves and losses,
My innocence lost and my coming of age found,
The person that I truly am inside,
And though the ink may fade,
And the paper may yellow,
The memories never will fade,
The experiences never tarnish,
And the lessons learned will never be forgotten,

A batch of Gods fingers pointing at the clouds of sovereignty ...
Ready to be devoured. The sheer beauty of an ignorant flower coming of age.
An entangled labyrinth. Bridled, majestic. Pledge fealty to the jungles paramore.
Symphony of emotions dwelling through a psyche wondering...To what beholds the thought of being alone, if the thought itself...Is an injustice to merit?
Envisioned by dreams, that someday...It'll be different.
Above the trees a million diamonds shine
The stars in black, flames, dancing with the moon.
Embracing dreams two silhouettes align.
Oh, lovers hear the “woo—ooh” of the loon.
That haunting sound that echoes through loves twine.
Anticipation yields as young hearts swoon.
A summer trance while memories are born.
Bequeathed by night loves natural adorn.
