Never Coming of Age
Not the charming lane
nor the cozy log cabin
Not the warmth of the hearth
nor its crackling fire
Not the rifles by the door
nor waters lapping at the shore
Not the frolic of the meadow
nor the mysterious forest
No, by none of these am I called
~ growing up with a chip installed
