Premium Member The Oversized Plastic Coffee Cup Says

The oversized

Plastic coffee cup

with the plastic lid

says

Caution!

I am hot and wet

Handle me with care

Do not microwave

Did You Pray

did you think him above
for all his love
did you say thinks
as you blinked
and woke up
with a coffee cup
or did you go and play
DID YOU PRAY

Premium Member Call Back

Driving but you still pick up.
To be honest you look like a chump;
You chose to answer the phone
said 'Call back.' then a dial tone;
I hope you drop a hot coffee cup.

A Lonley Ant

On a table
where I sit and thinking of everything
rolls black balls
they seem to be running on a string
but it is only a lonely ant
who is looking for sugar in my coffee cup.

Yesterday's News

all the headlines
such a bore
yesterday's news
always the same
war, pestilence
earthquake and fire
a baby is born
someone expires
coffee cup in hand
I bring the paper in
wet, from morning rain

Argh!
Damn phone alarm.
I gulp haste.
I open my school app - like an eyelid.
Invade my sanctuary, virtual tyranny.
Where's my focus?!
*looking around for my coffee cup*
I feel like a bobble-head.

Refill Please

My coffee cup is empty.
My mind could use refillin'.
God, overflow my heart;
So I can
Do some spillin'.

Please take away my
coulds and wipe away
my cant's.
I'll walk into a life anew,
First, help me find my pants.

Thankful, that an earthquake hadn't struck
on another nervous day of luck,
I sat, and from my coffee cup, I supped,
hoping a volcano wouldn't interrupt,
not knowing that in the heavens, sped
an asteroid pointed at my head.

Premium Member Lipstick

Lipstick on a coffee cup
Perfume on my sheets
Steam upon the mirror
A towel crumpled on the floor
Footprints in my bedroom
Left me pondering
Aching for more
I miss you this morning
Until then my love
I’ll wait by the door

Reflective Soul

Reflective Soul

the bottom of my coffee cup
swirling darkness
an extinguished cigarette
ashes to ashes
an enormous smile
eroding sculpture
once pounding heart
barely audible
creative mind
dulled by thought

reflective soul.....

Creative Wriing Workshop

We revel in our deceptions,
Careen in the mallowness
Of the majolica
That is our life.

There are no truths—
Only deals.

The sky this evening
Seems surreal.

This is art.

We are critics
Of the coffee cup,
Knowing what we like.

Those who do,
Will.

Premium Member Morning clouds

there are clouds in my coffee cup
they hover over a sea murky dark
the forecast is tumultuous at best
this morning's been hazy and
somewhat stir crazy

i drink my coffee but can't shake
these clouds now levitating overhead

In the Coffee Cup

A morning looking in a coffee cup,
My soul is asking questions of the heart,
As destiny reveals itself in art,
Should inquiry find truth in crumpled dreams,
And bring the eye to look so gently up,
The heart must be ready to flow soul streams.

The sun rises
  the stars give way
The dew glistens
on the meadow, in the hay

Lovers posed, still
  in each others' arms
Tenderly mothers gaze, at
  at babe's resting charms

'Till factory whistles blow
  machines fire up
As our planet reaches
  for its coffee cup

Maelstrom In My Coffee

a whirlpool black and hot
I stir up for the moon

with just a twist and twirl
          of this small silver spoon;

          tonight I need no company
               to wake me up,

               guess it's enough, this maelstrom
                    in my coffee cup.

The Murderer's Mind

Here we sit
At a whistle stop, thinking
Over our coffee cup.
The steam curls up
And begs for attention.
But sitting, thinking,
In animated suspension,
We sit.
We wait.
Eager to get there.
But where?
So we sit.
And we wait.
Until perhaps,
Just perhaps,
Someone takes the bait.

Premium Member Saturday

Saturday
A sad rain teases the windows
Spring worms wriggle gleefully
Robins do a wing shake flash dance
Wet squirrels shake their tails
The cat paws at the litter box
Dogs in tiny raincoats hide their faces
The garden Buddha stoically drips
I ponder the rings of my coffee cup

Ghost Lover

He
Whispers
Poetic words
In the heat of love
Dreaming of tomorrows truth
I fall onto a hopeless dream

Awaken
By the emptiness
Of rumbled bed sheets
The song birds singing on window sills
As the sun rises yet again and again and again
Coffee cup filled with tears, loneliness fills the years
