You think you wasted my time?
I get a lot more than a dime;
Clocked in for that paper
I’m not a sucker;
Forget you called a company line?

Boring Song To Ears

One early lesson I learnt is that –
islands do not survive storms
we all want to belong
so she promised not to be long
when her short length clocked years
tick tock, tick tock
became my boring song to ears.

A COWBOY

A cowboy stormed into town
He seems to be hell bound
To challenge and fight
Cuz he was uptight
But he came to an end
When he challenged an old friend
Who was quicker and real fast
Who clocked him in his ass
He’s not here anymore
So, they closed the door

Rooms Apart; and Tastes, Aesthetic

Mine, full of old clutter.
But cultured!
Mahogany chaired.
Mantel-clocked.
Beneath whose framing's gold
As quaintly curved Age-locked
Grand pictured.

Laughingly echoed through
By contrast
Placing a price on
As worthy
Is this: of an open plan's
Nouveau riche buying spree.
Does not last.

I Call To Thee

Beyond the sea I call to thee
Clocked in serendipity-
I know not what you think of me-
Your inner thoughts a mystery-
I love you yet I know not why-
Your absence gives me pause to sigh-
On the moon your face I see-
In the clouds you on a steed-
Clarify this mystery-
Why I’m so in love with thee

Ailing

Summer has slammed its last car door
Its a final goodbye year
your ailing cat and dog have both passed on
You've sold your campervan
strange it broke the day after sale
You've promised not to get another pet
The clocked in hours tickle to a close
Your car needs a MOT
The long stretch between home and servicing

Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet
Sat listening to Jimmy Buffet
While eating some crud that
made her sway...
Along came a spider
A notorious derider
And here's what he had to say
"Hey, Chickee, come visit my web site!"
At that she made her day...
She "clocked" the "mother"
Like no other
Sometimes things just
turn out that way.

The June Melancholy

The sun was up and the moon sank To great my brother a happy birthday We smiled and rocked, we ate, we drank To convince my brother of a lovely day Until five clocked when we heard a sound Which made us stop our delightful play The police knocked, arrested for disturbance. This suddenly turned out a bad day

The Unsupervised Stop Sign

It was quarter after nine
When I clocked in on that stop sign
What an insignificant design
Yet it provoked desire

Watching everything realign
Only one thing crossed my mind
Whilst everything roared tow that line
Two opposing thoughts intertwined

Once a beautiful sign
Now an unsupervised lifeline
Once a benign incline

Now a constant race against time

A Door Locked Is a Gun Cocked

A door with a strong key locked
Is a room outrightly blocked!
So, in which space had folks flocked
When darkest eleven clocked?

Not a door at which one knocked,
For stubborn key one has mocked:
The picture: a room with wares stocked
By one who had a ship docked,
All its windows well-shuttered
For a privacy not shattered…

A door with a strong key locked
Is a double-barreled gun cocked.

Untitled

"untitled" (for Maureen)

the goldfinch thought
they could hide in them
while they enjoyed eating

their seeds

i watched them as if
a sundial telling
time again

again and again

and they clocked
me moving at less
than warp speed as

i watered everything

not just them but
the laborious fruits
that labored in a sun

the same sun

that
after
which

they were named

Premium Member Paperback Writer

She waits tables everyday
penning stories on her break;
Packing those tips far away
wondering what it will take

to create a paperback
characters and adventure;
Never again plates to stack
not work, it's only pleasure

Clocked out then its off to class
studying hard is the deal,
Hoping to more than just pass
her fantasy will be real;

Determined and with talent
all red eyed with all nighters,
seeing life after student
soon a best selling writer

Premium Member Time

What is Time
But existence clocked
Hands and face
Always watched.

Dictates our sleep
Our working lives
Who dies
Who thrives.

The dial of life
Rules us all
Some bored
Some have a ball.

Minutes and hours tick away
Here today, gone yesterday
Time is a gift, we only borrow
Time will determine who is here tomorrow.

The fortunate, their time joyfully spent
The worst of us, will time repent
Either or can't undermine
The power of Father Time.

Black Is the New Red

He liked to drive real fast
Wanting the driving to last
And was clocked at a 253 kmh speed
In a 110 kmh zone so reckless indeed

But the blue caught his black utility
Stopping him with flashing lights too
He thought that black was the new red
Driving without a full licence instead

His learner’s permit for 12 months was suspended
The Holden utility was not registered
So his made the nightly news
For driving nobody would excuse.

Clocked Out

Clocked Out
From the words I write to the ones I speak
I've meant every word even ones leaked
And now I know it's time for my last few
Thank you to all who loved my words and view
And to my Lord for a beautiful gift,
But roads change and it's my life's time to shift!
I've grown cold to so many and it's time
For me to drop my pen and my soft rhymes.
Will I ever write again I'm sure there's no doubt
Though a poet no more, for it's time to... Clock out.

Still the Birds Sing

Moving forward and through
Steady grief rocked by shock
Warped is the view
Each moment now clocked

Yet there is beauty
Still the birds sing
Waves keep on crashing
Do Not Pity Me

Strange though it sounds
My perception is blessed
My soul has connections
I send in requests

I know we're all heard
I know we're all worthy
I know we're all guided
It's a classroom; a journey

I'll align with the beauty
And hear the birds sing
Ride the waves as they're crashing
Do Not Pity Me
