Carolyn's Yeti

There was a yeti called Kippers,
Who tried to use toe nail clippers,
But his toes were too long,
And it went badly wrong,
So now he wears floral slippers.

To you, I say,
				"Clip away! Shop
				today and save."

				But please don't be
				like Wren. See her
				folly and learn.

				Big clipper Wren

Trembling In Remembrance of Last Year

The plant saw the clippers and gave a squeak
Trembling in remembrance of last year
The gardener passed her, his manner bleak
To begin slashing and chopping incredibly near
The crucified plant made a tiny little eek
Increasing the dandelion’s worst fear

Signs of the Times

Winter is surly.
Eagerly early,
Spring overtakes.
Not left behind
I hurry to find
Clippers and rake.
Each bud and blossom
Quits playing possum.
Appearances make.
Responsive resurgence,
Fixed on fast forward,
Nature awakes!

Signs of the Time

Silently signaled,
Eagerly early
Spring overtakes
Not left behind
I hurry to find
Clippers and rakes.
Each bud and blossom
Quits playing possum
Appearance makes.
Responsive resurgence,
Fixed on fast forward,
Nature awakes.

Wish My Toenails Were Graham Crackers

I wish my toenails were graham crackers
They would crumble instead of making holes in my shoes
I could eat the droppings
Or fashion them into a nice pie crust
They would be easier to clip and trim
I would not have to use the lawn clippers
I wish my toenails were graham crackers

25 Light Tears Away

with no hope
of ever seeing
you without a
telescope

for your galaxy
and you are
more than
light years

away
but a
slow
drop

from
my eyes
to the almost
full bucket by my

feet
features
the dying tears
of a been dead poet

NOW for our
next exhibit
we have
finger

nail
clippings
from the poet
himself but not by

clippers
only
by
teeth

toenail clippers wont do my nails

toe nail clipper? she asks. I laugh and scoff.
It’ll take a jackhammer to get these nails off.
They are thick, gristly, harder than a screw.
What about sheep shears? Asks my cousin Lou.

She does not have nails like these wretched claws.
I change the batteries in both of my chainsaws
It has to be done, all my socks have gigantic holes.
I reach for the first chainsaw whose battery glows.

Wisteria

I've battled every year,
  To keep the Wisteria clear.
  Away from the tree,
  Swaying so gracefully.
The vine has caught a branch,
  Refusing to let it go.
  Tightening its grasp,
I wonder how long the tree will last.

  Cutting the Wisteria away,
  Year after year,
  Only to have it reappear!
  Can't close the clippers anymore,
The tree is on its own.
  Remains beautiful outside my home!

Breezy

"Granny cut my hair", grandson said "I'll just take you to town". "No, don't spend that money", he said "Ouch, that pulls" said with frown Those ladies and men at those salons Make it look so easy Just run those clippers up those heads In just one sweep breezy Well to tell truth, heads are odd shaped Those clippers don't just flow There are bumps along crooked way Had to plough trifallow

The Flower and the Weed

The weed is jealous looking over to next door,
that pleasant flower whose most adored.
It eyes the style and mimics through its bloom
but there was only room for one to groom.
The clippers controlled by human hands
Decided first who was meant to leave the land.
The weed did fear for he only wanted love
But clipped away and jumped afar above.

Security Check

At the airport a young director
Ready to film a new TV show
Walked through the metal detector
Forgetting his nail clippers in tow

He had put them in his pocket
Down a hole the clippers fell through
Then just as the alarm went off
He said, "There's something in my shoe!"

Gun drawn an officer yelled, "Halt!"
Thinking about what he should declare
He said, "I'm just here to shoot a pilot"
And it quickly went downhill from there!

Bluesman

On many a Sunday, he was a mobile barber
He played a guitar, a harmonica, and hair clippers
He drove 10 miles, delivering us clean cuts and music
People called him Bluesman; we just called him Mr. Wade
A friend of my dad, he always kept us cute, cut, and trimmed
Sightings of Bluesman on the internet brings sweet memories

My Bonsai

dry and stiff,
still standing lifelessly on my coffee table,
pieces falling slowly below,
even in death the glow of my 19-inch TV comforts you,
even if I thought more chemical plant food would sustain you through my negligence.
"Plants need water!" my mom tried to say,
but I believed you looked fine,
pale green and vital.
My poor bonsai may not be living anymore,
but it will stay right where it is.
Standing gracefully next to my dead
aloe plant and the toenail clippers.

Yard Sale Saturday

The tables are set,
the tent is up,
yard sale Saturday,
getting rid of some stuff.
Lamps without shades,
an old garden hose,
and tons of socks,
and out of date clothes.
Rusty old rakes,
some clippers, and gloves,
and out in the field,
that old yellow bus.
Some goodies for sure,
come early, and browse,
if you have the money,
you can even buy my house.
I hope it dosn't rain,
until everything is gone,
there is no way on this earth,
I could get this stuff inside my home.

Rock,,,Paper,,,Scissors

Rock :) paper (: scissors

I got a rock in my hand.
Holding it as tight as I can!
No I won't let this go!
This is 3 wins in a row!
Next time don't pick scissors man!
~
~
My paper covered your rock.
You still keep talking lots of crock.
Your crying for another round.
In this one you lay paper down.
Scissors cut paper you silly jock!
~
~
Rock breaks scissors,
Paper dolls made from clippers.
Get rid of the smelly fishes
I win your doing dishes
Easy to predict your butter fingers.

Looking South

On a morning
wings launch
into a clifftops
uplift of air
and glide effortlessly
above a distant coast.

Tall waves break
into foaming sweeps
up beaches bare
of footprints – a shadow
cuts like a scythe
across ancient sand.

Enormous swells
heave upwards where once
clippers sailed
southern ocean gales.
A continent’s vast wound
weeps into the sea.

High above, the contrail
of a passing jet
crawls silently across
a cloudless sky.
An emptiness soon
wipes it all away.
