Winter Wind and Fog

Leaves circle around with the season's wind
Flowing across and through the skies
As fog gathers on mushy grass
Releasing the odor of the mud

I Won'T Reach the Finish Line

I'm not determined to rush forward since i know i won't reach the finish line
There's a circle around me going forward means getting back
Trying will just weaken my fragile body

Premium Member Changing

The clouds circle around in blue sky
Continuing to hide the sun
Raindrops come and go today
A changing pattern stays
Locked in place for now
The breeze does start
Then it stops
Fickle
Day

Premium Member Wind's Might

Colors of wind blow, scents I breathe in follow
Strong winds rushing below, under my body they flow
Soft blows circle around me, gentle breeze mesmerize me
Shades of wind complement day and night,
their beauty and solidity keep me bright!

Premium Member You Won'T Gravitate

The determined feet on the march
The inert soul trampled for the goal to reach
The walker’s heart the broken road can’t reach.

In the circle around me you orbit
The energy burnt sets you in revolving state
To the centre of my universe you won’t gravitate.

You

You are the spring in my step
and the swing in my arms
you are the ring in my laughter
and the melody in my song
you are the sparkle in my eyes
and the color in my cheeks
you are the line in my horizon
and the circle around my world
- because you complete my life.

Hopelessness

Late at night
I feel no delight
My demons circle around my head
My happiness fled
I lay next to a tree
The end I can’t see
The pain comes back
My soul is purely black
I cry my eyes out
All I feel is doubt
He’ll never love me
All he did was abandon thee
Why carry on
All my hopes are gone

Beauty

I only remember she was all white
with a black circle around one eye,
like a mole on the face of a beauty queen.
She was the Marilyn Monroe of dogs
                        and we named her Beauty.

Premium Member Faith and Light

Pale yellow skies circle around me
The last light of sun for the day
As it sets, many things whirl in my mind
From a world that spins around me, in decay

There is a darkness settling that no-one can avoid
We must only stand by truth and fight
Faith and light must carry us ahead
And carry us through, every single night!

Pale Parts

Candle
Wax:

A circle around fire;
Melt it; I burn—
With pastel oils,
That stick.

Scarring stays on;
While in my eyes, my heart
Flickers for more—
(It blushes at its own slipperiness inside)
For within, its gift— to hide.

All tones are the same—
(Dark and darker)
While the fire lets out its
final gasp—
Before all wanes into
Easy flesh.

Premium Member Stepping Into Heaven

Under your heavenly gaze magic appears perfect
a thousand whispers sail through the oceans current
each wave warmly echoes of a sun filled promise
Our time is held when precious jewels they glimmer
every breath gasps breathless holding dearest soul
where the silken ribbons circle around a gift tied
wrapped within angel rays floating inside heartbeats

Will There Be Love Again

Leaves cascade across her comfort
Melting shades of brown to darkened grey
Laying lonely in heaps of misery
Will sunshine ever make it a pretty day
Wrapped up in winds of freedom
Where smiles somehow would lead the way
Tears trickle off to nowhere
She just wants to be swept away
Dry off you days of empty
Circle around another way
Hidden deep within her forest
Afraid to let it slip away

Premium Member Eclipse

Circle around resolute
Arc in cosmic dance salute

Celestial bodies flying
Through space and time far reaching

Such accurate precision
In dramatic transition

Observe the paths of wonder
As senses taste sheer plunder

Watch this phenomenon
This heavenly once upon

Sun and moon and shadow play
Hurling eclipse by the way

Probable Cause

As the ends circle around to justify the means;
Individuality soon becomes the victim of inevitability.
And where justice often lies within the realms of affordability;
The balance of punishment is often counter measured by net worth.
And as the fences of containment slowly; closes the gap on diversity;
“We the people;” may soon find ourselves;
The occupants of a newly found and kept habitat

Criminal Mistake

"I swear the fingerprints were there yesterday. They were there, I promise"
Maybe my tears just washed them away
Devastation wreaks havoc
Loss lulls me to sleep
A wake of buzzards circle around my head
I am beaten down
I am unlucky
My skin grows caverns
Grows desert and dry
I am teetering on the edge of success and failure
I am not steady on my feet
I could have prevented this
Time to burn away my identity

Premium Member Dainty Hippo Man

Dainty hippo man with your light lovely lithe sprint
Your two-step makes my gleeful eyes squint
I love the way you circle around the room after a nap
With your shoes going sixty directions, tapping tap tap tap

Your top hat and cane make your dancing complete
It is energetic and exciting; it simply cannot be beat.
Dainty hippo man, you do such an amazing two-step.
With such a lovely kick, and engaging hippo pep.

Looking For Answers

I walk slow Through the forest Alone Inside my mind Where I am looking For answers Sometimes I find them Sometimes I find glue Stuck in thoughts That circle around I step off the pathway Wait A new path opens written: 8-31-2019 Yalto poems only Poetry Contest 1st Place Premium Thank You Emile Invented by Edward Ibeh: line 1 to 15: 3,4,2,4,5,3,2,3,2,3,3,5,6,1,5 syllables Sponsor: Emile Pinet

O You

A monster from a tree
jumps and runs around the bushes
to mate.

A blank statement
is issued. The system groans
and collective pshyche fails.

A stark silence
for the food for thoughts.
I sit down to meditate-

to find the bloody answer
for white death. The dirty
work to sweep the floor.

It smells like an
amputated leg.
Do we need to draw a circle around the bomb ?

With a lie on your lips,
are you going to negotiate
with violence ?

Premium Member Pulsing Heart

I stand, chained and damned
Curses upon me like a battling ram

Demons circle around me near and deep
Been many years since I had any sleep

And this is where I cry
Not wanting to live, not wanting to die

God come to me, find me as another son
Hold me, embrace me, let me be the one

Naked, I am a man of fear
Forsaken, forgotten, my forgiveness is in my tears

Each beat of life marrys my pulsing heart
Is this the end, or where I restart

To Ken Kesey and Neal Cassady

If lost in yourself,
there’s no need to be found

As the self-disenfranchised,
circle around

They question and lecture,
and spew out their grief

To lure you within,
their false broken beliefs

“You really don’t get it, man,”
they sing from their bus

They say “You’re unhip”
and “You need to be us”

The chanting of laughter,
they march to inane

Where a prank on themselves
—waits in drug induced shame

Premium Member Father’s Day 2024

A circle forms around Dad.
His kids hold his smile and tears.
Celebrations without Mom
hard the first year. His eyes
were closed…he was world’s away.
Little by little, the faucet turns off.
His eyes like a Christmas ornament
sparkle. He, now, holds a picture
of Mom close to his heart.
No one can touch this private space.
It holds all his fond memories.
All that is left over belongs to us.
His kids circle around him.
We have his back. He was left
behind, but not, nearly, alone.
