Let Go
Charting happiness
Taking the real trip
Letting nothing
Confuse or kick
Unchanging bliss
Noting the balance
Seasons quarter
Sheer soul desire...

view from the sky
little specks of life
charting their way
through green, blue, and brown
clouds floating in way of the window

Crowned poet,
posthumous Queen
of the private world,
you explored
every subtlety of the soul
and mapped the wonder
of existence
to its last drawn breath.

What price did you pay
deep in your alabaster chambers,
charting the course
of a nameless presence
stretched across eternity,
giving it a home
in the exquisite vessel
of your words....

Charting the Unknown (Revised)
While traveling through a mist of lost direction;
My search is for memories left behind.
I am tethered to the present by a silken line which I cling to as;
A  Protection against all fears of the unknown;
And the future (as always) maintains its ambiguity.
      And with my guitar comes a melody;
     That fits a fore lone song;
And with the lyrics comes this mystery.
Is what has passed now gone?...

A New Freedom
Shrieking and squawking,
following prophets through uncharted waters,
wailing in sustained arpeggios.
He mimics constellations, blazing stars in rich profusion,
pulling passion into focus with a dark yet supple tone.

Religions and mythologies,
screams of souls in harsh enslavement,
sources for his stark doxologies.
Charting new boundaries of rhythm and rhyme,
a new definition his legacy, growing with time....

Tryst
I will watch the field,
but not play the game.
Do not want to win the toss,
for no one to loose the chance.

When you go for the final swim
rules must change.

The ugly knocks have resumed
their pilgrimage through blood and bones.
Timeless flesh will decide the event,
death of the soul.

The tryst with unknown begins
charting the resentment on hearts,
clinging like sorrow. Sun has sunk
deep in the blue lake.

Settlers Song
Great American adventure
over the plains alone
loved ones wait and wonder
where we might have gone
  charting unknown waters
to brave the starless nights
we brought our sons
and daughters
we kept our dreams in sight
all in this together
we'll get there and we'll thrive
no matter what the weather
Americans alive!
so build the campfire high
tonight
and sing a settler's song
we'll keep the wilderness at bay
till you can come along....

Anfractuous
You twist and wind uphill,
Defeating common logic
That informs ordinary will,
Quashing layman's magic.

Your miles can't mundane
Tools measure with ease,
Nor trifling men's suremises
Feign to fathom with peace.

Anfractuous is your course
Along travail's painful main,
Past warmths of kith or kin,
Beyond love's kiss and pain.

Up this odd adventurous tor
Shall my days curl their way,
Charting eerie paths via war,
Whereon saints tearful tread....

Enjoy Life
My doctor told me,
He could add ten years to my life,
If I followed his instructions,
And stayed away from strife.

He put me on a diet,
I needed to lose weight.
No more sweets or starches,
And write down everything I ate.

Start exercising each day,
Charting the hour of my success,
Drink plenty of water,
A gallon he though would be best.

I decided to change doctors,
Concerning my health I have a say.
What is ten more years,
When I'm toothless, old and gray....

Premium Member Where Old Memories Live
I find myself
In the middle of nowhere
And I don't see signs
Of anything familiar,
Yet I take turns
As if I'm going somewhere,

I meet new people
Strangers who welcome me
And I confide in them,
Unwilling to remember
My reason for being there,

But then I recall
Not charting a destination
For I had none,

No special place I had to be
Except to escape from there
Where old memories live.

Stonehenge
Stonehenge
by Michael R. Burch

Here where the wind imbues life within stone,
    I once stood
and watched as the tempest made monuments groan
    as if blood
boiled within them.

Here where the Druids stood charting the stars
    I can tell
they longed for the heavens ... perhaps because
    hell
boiled beneath them?

Premium Member Geraldine and Me
She asked me to dance.
Matter-of-factly, led me
Held my eager hands -
She ruled, and I followed.
Cling to smell of cinnamon, while
She saw dark chocolate, craving to be had.
Neat and tidy as she, speaking.
Charting language of love, virginally.

Naturally, I clamored.
Loving everything of Geraldine
But granny said, "girls don't dance with girls."
She seemed twelve, and I, eleven, sat carefree.
Then Granny and Hurricane Hattie stepped in
Changed trajectory of our love.

Mission To Mars
Drops of oil on fertile soil
Burning cars heading for mars
Drips of fear a flaming tail
Hearts exploding like old stars

A journey to tomorrow
Holding on to a kite string
Thoughts opposed in the mirror
A new world to plant a new spring

Minds charting new maps
Exploring the smell of new life
Water taps gashing out dry crops
Tasting the will to endless strife

The ambassador of a new world
To establish a new alliance
The mouth has no words
To accept that we’re the aliens...

Shhhhhh
I'm sitting in a class room
not doing what I should be
I'm sitting in the last chair
on the left but don't get scared

I'm charting graphs
and grabbing tasks
from the PC that I hate:
VISTA

Not sure what to say
but the rest of my day
should be glad
and other meteor had

I'm charting graphs
and grabbing tasks
from the PC that I hate-
I wish my Mac was here

I'm graphing tasks
and charting grabs
from the inner part...

...of my mind...

...that I've lost completely...
