Where Old Memories Live

I find myself In the middle of nowhere And I don't see signs Of anything familiar, Yet I take turns As if I'm going somewhere, I meet new people Strangers who welcome me And I confide in them, Unwilling to remember My reason for being there, But then I recall Not charting a destination For I had none, No special place I had to be Except to escape from there Where old memories live. I feel sad for the person who has to shift from place to place with no clear destination in mind who finds a kind of relief in unburdening his mind even to strangers. This shows how tormenting and painful are the memories, a certain place hands down to him. In few lines you have delineated a sad human predicament. Very powerful poem

Enjoyable little poem, Vijay. Clever idea...reminds me somewhat of Robert Frosts famous poem: "The Road Not Taken". All my very warmest regards as ever, Vijay - cheers! :) john

Sometimes in search of a destination - somewhere but nowhere in particular, where strangers can pick you up! Congrats Vijay!
