Green Leaf
Green leaf
Color of pigment ink of vense
Cary the blood of my heart pump
for the chest of my body
Frie and heat of shooting clouds
cry to fill the art in our green leaf
which glow in tree of our life.......

Judy, Judy, Judy
Judy, Judy, Judy... Judy Konos is the one I mean
Not the famous Cary Grant quote, he uttered on the screen
In “Only Angels Have Wings”
His famous quote still rings
But Judy Konos is the one who makes my old heart sing

Summer Storm
by Maureen Staley Cary
When I hear that faint rumble, deep in the clouds,
The summer sky will darken, lead-gray
The rain will come in slanting sheets,
Forming mist as it hits hot, hard earth
The birds will retreat, like the ants,
But the earthworms will emerge from the softened soil,
Content in the break from August heat....

I Want You, Lol
Of visits I’m fond, like that buxom blond~~come up and see me some time!*
*In She Done Him Wrong (1933), Mae West as Lady Lou, a barroom singer, says to Captain Cummings (Cary Grant), “Why don’t you come up some time and see me?”

Window Gazing
Window Gazing
Maureen Staley Cary
Might her mood be blue
like the curtain or the shade of sea
stripes on her dress
staring portside, about to take a step
through the open frame
lured by the soft lapping water,
a distant seagull, flapping sailcloth
a fleeting moment
rendered constant
on Dali’s canvas...

In the Wilderness
This! my home?
Greedy me on the whole
Like an oak fern, I blossom
When all is gone I _ lonesome
The trees, hence not green
It's leaves dare not grin
Just me and my wildbeast
To fill in the back seat
Just me and my thoughts(left/right)
To Cary the weight and bear the loss
A blind man can tell
"in the wilderness" I have built a nest...

His Journey
His journey is done
His part didn't play
His scen didn't shown
His destiny didn't ritch
He was my supportive cast
He was made to give me a shorts happiness
Miscourage I hate you
You took my son before birth
You took my pride
Oh dear God what have I done to you?
Why did you decide to take Nazareth away from me?
God I was hoping to cary him
His day is Done...

it is surprising
how fine black and white can be
one listens better
one notices more
each word clear as a bell
folks keep their clothes on
blood flow minimum
black and white blood not so gross
favorites are great –

Life Ended In Window Suspended
Life Ended In Window Suspended
No matter what my cat intended;
Was almost like his life had ended;
A new craze;
Constant gaze.
Stared out window as if suspended.

We are staying at Comfort Suites in
Cary, NC. It is a real pretty city.
We are waiting out affects of
Florence. It was even near
Florence, SC. The rivers are
all bankrupt after having left
their banks. Ho, ho....

A Victim of Florence
A Victim of Florence
We are having to stay at Comfort Suites
in Cary, NC until Thursday and hopefully
by then highways and roads will be clear
and we can safely return 150 miles home
to Bolivia, NC. It is costing us $100 a night
and hope our National Homeowners Insurance
will cover some of it. I have not written a
poem in a week now. Florence has really
been messing over my mind.

Unisex Color
All girls like a pink dress to match their shoes,
real boys still resist it giving no clues;
this color was worn by females,
and guys wearing it got laughs...
they gave the impression of being gay;
fashion has changed and straight guys love it anyway!
Should I decide to wear something like hot pink,
I will only notice young girls who'll smile and wink;
older women will stare at me with interest and say,
" He looks much sexier that Cary Grant in his day! "...

An Affair To Remember
On the couch, legs covered, Deborah sits in delight
Cary, saves the scene being so debonaire
Small talk ensued, flowery now, was full of fight
On the couch, legs covered, Deborah sits in delight
Pretense, with lies, then excuses, then spite
At the end of this scene everyone knows how they fare
On the couch, legs covered, Deborah sits in delight
Cary, saves the scene being so debonaire

Vintage Heart
These modern day girls,
they don't fall in love
like they did in the black and white movies,
no more Audrey Hepburns' sipping on chardonnays
and pursing gold flake cigarettes
over a bowl of delicate conversation
they're unsophisticated,
they puff on cigars
and gulp down jello shots
while attempting a balletic demeanor
as poetic as Grace Kelly
but their actual depiction
is gauche
and lacking the ability
to fool any heart,
especially Cary Grant's...

A Skeleton For Christmas
Mae mailed Christmas cards today,
fewer again this year
because death has made
her address book a skeleton.
She has a son in Russia
but no other relatives alive
and every year more friends die.
Her memories are movies
she always likes to watch.
Cary Grant may not be in them
but the movies make her thankful
for the people she has known
even those who were a problem.
Perhaps she gave them reason
acting out in her distress.

Willy Wagtail
Willy Wagtail
Willy wagtail black of body
White of breast now in his suit
Elegant as Cary Grant
Tuxedo is his bag of fruit……..slang 4 suit
Rides upon the sheep or cattle
Plucking insects from the air
Swings his fantail side to side…..constantly
Flicks the water food is there
Ducks and weaves so sure of flight
Chitti chitti says the bird
Talks a bit during the night
Chitti chitti often heard
Don Johnson
Found all over Australia in New Guinea and the Solomons...
