Summer Camp

Two ladies on an hilltop slept
Where coyotes howl and nightly crept
They heard no growl
Nor any howl
But learned to look before they stepped!

Old Donald an out of work tramp
retired to a new nudist camp
what he hadn't been told
was the pool water's cold
which reduced his prospects when damp

While In Wrong Camp

While In Wrong Camp

While we were in the wrong camp,
Things found there would revamp;
Do my best;
Win contest,
Until tired and had received cramp.

Row, row and sing,
Rest, rest and listening.
We’ll listen to the lullaby of a siren’s voice.
We’ll hear the ambience
Of the night’s silence.
Walk, walk and talk,
Stand, stand and be proud.

Cowboy Camp Cook

Making biscuits at four A.M., coffee is boiling
Fed the cowboys at midnight, they just keep dragging in
Says that he will sleep when he gets old, at this rate it won't take long

The Gypsy Camp

Brass
bells ring
along swamps
shadowy edge.
Children running free;
flutes echoing laughter;
cimmerian eyed beauty
hips swaying to an earthy beat.
Simple suppers roast over fire.
Welcoming the despised plebians home.

Camp Stories

Dry pine needles under foot
Wood smoke scents the air
Twilight camp sounds all around
Our tent put up with care

The spooky tails we’ve all just told
Gave no one here a scare
Until the park ranger said
“Watch out for the bear”

Premium Member Camp Freely By the Sea

Quite frankly (now this is between you and me),
his folks should have sent him to camp by the sea;
’tis more entertaining,
and takes far less training,
when you can just go to the ocean to pee.

Camp Must Revamp and Do Make Damp

Camp Must Revamp and Do Make Damp

What is really required for the camp,
Is straighten it out and then revamp;

Put out all fires and do make damp.

This California fire thing has really
become horrendous and tremendous
as well as stupendous.

Boy Scout Camp

I remember waking up
To the sudden sense of fear
My camping bag was packed
I could sense what was near
The 3 hour drive
Was a bit of drag
Where I would spend 5 nights
Saluting the flag
I was nervous at first
Didn’t think it was fair
But then I realized
I was under their care
And I felt safe

Go gentle into the night, friend campfire.
Confidant, who was loudly popping and smacking
Devouring stacks of logs, chewing and spitting
A formidable terminator a few hours ago
We stare at you, sharing stories too sacred to tell anywhere else
Knowing you will keep our ferocious secrets safe in your hearth.

Camp

Welcome to the place where I’ve put my stamp
A little lot I call camp
Where good times and laughter
Make memories that will last forever after
It’s a camp community if you will
Where we can come and just be chill
Whether it be by the fire or on the lake
It gives me a bit of a break
A place with meaning for family and friends
Treasured by all who attend.

Premium Member Midnight Brumbies

Neighing of the
Midnight brumbies
Foal and sand
At hoof
The call of water
Brings them in
Between crystal and moonlit hills
The fire is out
Black as
Midnights brumbies
Neighing down by the water hole
Among many
An antique camp
Dreaming camp
Ancient camp
The water
Brought
Them here
To lay near
The water hole
And the neighing
Midnight brumbies

Camp Fire

Campfire

Wind through trees
Whisper praises, hymns
Crickets gather round
Gentle violins
Frog, keep the beat
Upon bulbs of summer moss
Crackling of the fire
A quire in the dark

Ear, amphitheater
Mind, place to play
Wind swept leaves
Scratch their parade
World full of music
To the stars, stream of spark
Throw another log upon
The quire in the dark

Native Americans

The still air is broken by a distant shout,
Watch out now Steven there's Red Indians about.

Your bright eyes widen in the sunny glow,
Quickly now Steven lets make you a bow.

Carefully through the trees we tramp,
Quitely now Steven there's the Indain camp.

But you are not scared, your chest is full of pride,
Now Daddy has made you a bow you don't have to hide.

Premium Member maybe they are here for a camp check up

girl and her daddy are in the doctor’s waiting room
neither of them appears to be sick
she looks especially well.
Her eyes are bright, and she is moving around like a bubble
She smiles at me and waves.
I wave back, glad to see her.
Maybe they are here for a camp check-up?
She turns and regurgitates all over the seat.
Her father takes his time noticing.
He has been looking at his phone.
