Friend Campfire

Go gentle into the night, friend campfire.
Confidant, who was loudly popping and smacking
Devouring stacks of logs, chewing and spitting
A formidable terminator a few hours ago
We stare at you, sharing stories too sacred to tell anywhere else
Knowing you will keep our ferocious secrets safe in your hearth.
