Born and raised in the Valley
 She married a dude
 With a bad attitude
So divorce was her grand finale...

Summer
I cannot wait to stick my toes,
back into the Pacific, minus Winter woes!

Even in Cali it's damp and chilly,
five months more til the dolphins are silly!

So for today I recluse inside,
reading and writing, the perfect space to hide!...

Porsche 911
Soul matters
Driving in the Californian sun
Reaching out of your car laughing at pedestrians
River flowing clear as day
Sunlight shining
Amazing flow
Old times
Drugs
Cocaine
Mafia
Alone in the Cali sun
Diamond rings
Glowing night
Amazing women
Oooooo!
Diamonds!...

The solar farms, ugly and large
And props for the wind-induced snarge
It’s green they’re extolling
But blackouts are rolling
And, best of all, no EV charge.

—————

snarge - noun: (military, slang) The remains of a bird after it has collided with an airplane (bird strike), especially a turbine engine....

Place Names
if ever there
was a Bogota
i'd be barefootedly
dancing in the streets

if ever a city
named Cartagena
i wouldn't be able
to contain myself

and if there ever
was a Cali i'd be
embracing you
instead of making

you up in my head
reassuring me that
you are real and
that this dream

of you
and i
we're
true...

Oxymoron Newsflash:
"EARLY TONIGHT, according to HEAR SAY, things got PRETTY UGLY when a SINGLE GROUP of HELLS
ANGELS became SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE to control during an ALL OUT MINOR CATASTROPHE at the
MICROSOFT WORKS sponsored MEXI-CALI JUMBO SHRIMP Festival“.

(in a strange way, this type of wishy-washy lingo reminds me of our lovely National news)...

Star
Star was a Cali
Dusty and long haired
Mature when we met
You could say that she’d ‘been there’

This was her third home
Each one a full lifetime
Why any would give her up
Is crazy in my mind

She was stubborn, haughty
And chock full of ‘tude
But oh so lovable
When in the right mood

The old lady’s now gone
There were no sad tears
She brightened our world
For 28 years...

Impromptu
Ofelio
lives in a box
in a basement
in a house
in a city
in Colombia

not knowing
he's a turtle
never
seeing another
other
turtle

head hidden
in his shell
selling
himself off
as if
sleeping

but he's
peeking
at a moto
trying to find
how to climb
like the gato

once seated
on the seat
he turns the key
now moving faster
then his feet
he dreamily drives

out
of Cali...

Journey's West
A cowboy's journey west
Traveling wagon train was the best

No Mercedes Benz or jumbo planes
Carved forests, climbed mountains, & plowed the plains

Beans and cornbread soothes hunger pangs
A bonnet or ten gallon hat protects our brains

Sleeping under stars watching asteroids
Resting our butts and healing hemorrhoids

I smell the Pacific from across the valley
And yell in delight, "We're now in Cali!"...

Whence I Became a Poet
When did writing poetry become such a foul ball in my life?
When my surroundings and the people in it decided I couldn't
get rich writing it.
So, I put it away for a while and concluded that I had writer's block.
Plus, I didn't write much when I was homeless in Cali.
Because all my pens got stolen and my paper went to the wayside.
Or inside of me like a dog eats your school paper. Peace is
Continually Available....

Premium Member big sass and little sass
Pete wanted to court Kim, because she was sassy and fun.
She’s too opinionated for us, said almost everyone.
Sassy is the word they used over and over to warn him.
You love who you love, so he married the fun-loving Kim.

In a few years they had a daughter, named Cali Jo.
She was sassy and fun everywhere she did go.
We call her little sass said her proud father Pete.
Now two women rule his world, isn’t that so sweet?...

Premium Member Taylor Swift She Is Not
Rants do not make great songs
Rosanne Barr I am sorry to say
not so great in a thong
when you sell no tickets
you have no show

Unless you on the side streets of cali
among peepers and creepers
then ticket sales of two are no crime
if you over and above nineteen
invite the crowds to see the obscene

When the show is over and done
make sure the phones delete
the evidence of sins and desperate crumbs
if you have no voice
there is no musical lyric to rejoice...
