Oops (Limerick)
There once was a girl named Shelly
Her favorite food was jelly
One day she over indulged
Until her tummy just bulged
She had put too much in her belly...

Existential Crisis
Bones turned hard
Thin nerves bulged
Flesh gave way

Heart pumped fast
Pulse showed rise
Tongue got twist

Eyes went blank
Lips felt dry
Still not dead

The sticks on the hill
were brushed when they were wet,
Lay with a pattered smoothness,
The bushes 'round which they swept
Bulged their greenly leaves,
Stony stairs on an uphill way
creased a toe of the world....

Love Mad
Mr. Sunshine said I'm his mistress
But now I'm in distress.
Oh! I was his beloved ,
Now he act as if we never loved.
They call me evil as I've bulged pupil.
My sketches seems so bad and my words say I'm sad.
Fact is that I wasn't bad but I was a love mad!...

I taught I taw dat ole putty cat
stick his tail in a socket, like dat.
His eyes bulged like a cow,
His hair isn't sleek now,
Uh oh ! look what he did on the mat!

Premium Member A Heavenly Vision
A heavenly vision
  came walking my way
I tried to stay calm
but my face gave me away

My eyes nearly bulged
  right out of my head
sweat dripped from my chin
  'neath a gap-toothed grin

My jaw dropped beside me
  as I lowered my head...
Had she blown me a kiss
  ~ or vanished instead...

Premium Member Return of Muck
This old man went to heaven in frail frame
With earthly waste bulged the belly became
Couldn’t long keep closed the outlet
Rushed to the astral toilet
Flushed water returned muck wherefrom it came.

A Wintry Chill Held Me To Your Bosom
A wintry chill held me to your bosom
The night drew praises from my lips
My hungry prayers did feed a fiery blossom
And the blast withdrew its icy fingertips.

As fancies came unhinged from fear
And diminished dark in its magnitude
My heart bulged with its own good cheer
And spilled its cries of gratitude...

Premium Member Sacred Temple
I never realised it was a temple
Until it was too late
Unfortunately my temple by then
Was in a dilapidated state

With permanent crack lines
On the temple top
Outside walls have bulged
Loosened and dropped

This temple has seen better days
As maintenance it has lacked
No longer a temple
Just a worn out old shack

So It Happened
he appeared in my land
just like Adam in the Garden
bringing hope and life
the fruits grew luxuriant
soil became home of good things
then a serpent appeared from blue
the handsome man became naked
stomach bulged with greed
brain fool-hardy as rock
what a fate befell the land
as hardship came laughing
so it happened, still happens
in the land of the Blacks...

Longing
Today I remembered you
When I put on my boots
And when I saw our team logo
on the jersey of some dudes
Then during lunch, in the restaurant
for your inevitable love for meat
And later because of a picture
in the book I taught
My body was there, my mind was not
Then in the bulged eyes
of a guy on the billboard
In the email draft that was never sent
In the shower I'd love we shared
And on this empty side of my bed...

My Grandmother's Hands
I looked down and I realized that
I had my grandmother’s hands
I’ve reached the point in life where the skin has thinned
and the veins have bulged
and thoughts of mortality land

At first it was upsetting, a reminder of age unrelenting
but soon after, I thought
What could be better than those loving hands
that soothed my fears
and dried my tears
oh how
I’ve missed my grandmother’s hands

BEGGAR LADY ON A CHURCH STEP
   (APROPOS IN GOD WE TRUST)

Her lips quivered with despair
as the frail hand struggled with its self
to position outstretched.

Tormented eyes bulged
from cryptic sockets:
testaments of hunger’s victory.

Then loudly can the chilling voice
piercing the solemn silence screaming:

“Go away! Can’t you see
this is a church step!”

Then the saved ones
went in to pray.

I gave her my tithes
and walked away....

Pleading
My Love,
You look very tired
Your eyes are bulged and sore
Why, couldn't you find the comb?
Your hair needs a groom
Hasn't your sister ironed your clothes?
Who cook your meals?
Has mama come home?
My love,
Enough is enough
Stop all my therapies no more chemo’s
Please,
Please take me home.
Yes I know I only have few days more
Let’s sing our favorites tonight
If can, we sway in the dim candle light
Lie side by side and watch the moon smiles
You need a rest
My Love...
