A Battle Rages

A battle rages
between beans and broccoli.
Sadly, no winner
emerges from this dark fog.
Perhaps I will blame the dog.

Oooh Wee That Smell

There once was a guy named Hockely,
who always boasted quite cockily;
That he would pass enough gas,
you would have to wear a mask,
anytime he ate cheese and broccoli.

Vegetales

Celery didn’t have the biggest stalk in the bunch,
but Broccoli was jealous, Celery had a hunch.
The garden of eatin’

Although green with envy, they got together for lunch

Child's Ode To Broccoli

More nutritious
Than a bean,
I do appreciate
Your green,
But raw,
You are extremely crunchy,
Roasted,
Just a mushy-munchy.
Steaming
Makes you awfully wet.
Sorry -
‘Still don’t like you yet!

Broccoli

My doc says broccoli is good for me

I'm here to say it ain't my cup o' tea

      I prefer meat and taters

          Juicy beefsteak termaters

Onions are fine , but spare the broccoli

What about you?

Chic Or Crude

In matters of paintings
and choice of food,
your taste and mine are
just as good.

     Picasso, Da Vinci,
     spicy taco, broccoli

To each his own,
to each his mood.
No one's chic or
classy, gross or crude!

Turtles and Iguanas

Turtles and iguanas do not eat meat.
Beef and chicken to them is not tasty or sweet.
They go for bugs and tiny plants that are green.
If you do not believe me, here is my cousin, Big Dean.
Big Dean is an expert. He is married to a turtle gal.
Broccoli, plants, lettuce and flies satisfy his wife, Miss Sal.

Mammals Who Munch

Mauricio, the merry moose
in Lanny Locke’s garden let loose.
He munched on mulberries,
chips, chestnuts and cherries.
The produce he poached was profuse!

His cousin, Carol the cute caribou
consumed cucumber, cabbage and cashews;
and Kory the cute koala
wandered down from Walla Walla
bringing broccoli, beans and barbecue!

Lucy Useless

Once upon a time, Lucy useless
Would eat breath mints
Even though she had no teeth

Lucy juicy
Dance watusi
Eats watermelons because they're juicy

She don't like broccoli
Drinks hot chocolate
Shallows properly

Even though she had no teeth
She would still eat
Blazen hot roast-beef

How To Revise a Poem?

Revise, revise.
Rewrite, rewrite.
Marketing, marketing, marketing.
If you're in search of fortune,
It seems a price to pay.
It goes against nearly
everything
when speaking to the muse.
Stare starlit--
the moon's not far behind.
Give yourself permission.
To eat broccoli
And love it.
Roll in the snow naked.
Walk like the turtle
And travel by bus.

My Love Just Is

my love is chocolate
my love is brussel sprouts
my love is a big ole kid
my love is just another bid

my love is vanilla
my love is broccoli
my love is a whiny baby
my love is if, and, but, and maybe

my love is cookies and cream
my love is eggplant
my love is an embryo waiting to be born
my love is anticipation right before sunrise in the early morn
