Bordeaux Ben
Bordeaux Ben just loved red wine,
Would only drink when dining fine,
Didn't drink beer, wouldn't drink gin,
Mum said, alchohol at home was a sin,
So he ate at restaurants all the time....

Ben's In Love Again
Bordeaux Ben looking for a friend
Went to a singles dance once again,
He met a girl with curly blonde locks,
The way she moved rocked his socks,
Looks like Ben may be in love again....

One red candle of dying flame
I pour one glass of Bordeaux, into yesterday
A meal for one, as autumn leaves become undone
A sad clown’s face
Reflects back to me
Thanksgiving is lonely
When all your friends are dead...

No Bordeaux
There once was a young man from Turkey
Whose food tastes were known to be quirky
On braised lamb with Bordeaux
He had quickly said no
And asked if they had some Beef Jerky

In the Marais
"in the Marais"

there once was a man from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

so he didn't give a damn
about Amsterdam
but would rather be in Paris sipping Bordeaux...

A Riper Day
Like wine,
Poets age with every year

Tattered labels stained,
vintners unclear

Bordeaux, Merlot, or Cabernet,
words mellow in the dark

Where time ferments a riper day
—its richness to impart

Bordeaux Birds
Bordeaux birds are forever bright
                                    They avoid Lammergeiers night
                                           Flamingos and storks
                                          Know the use of forks

Premium Member The Last Rose of Summer
The last rose of summer is rapidly fading on the vine.

'Twas once as brilliant as a splendid claret Bordeaux wine.

Alas, autumn frosts hath wrought their deadly sting.

Thankfully, another will bring me pleasure come next spring!

Sauvignon oh Sauvignon!
My crimson grapey friend
While I enjoyed my time with you
I'm sorry it must end

Cabernet oh Cabernet
Yes you I used to know
Sad but true, I’m done with you
I’ve moved on to Bordeaux

Bordeaux, Bordeaux oh my Bordeaux
You vineyard berry blitz
The summers here, and I declare
I choose a white wine spritz...

Ludwig von Beethoven

A Night On the Tiles
A young lady from old Bordeaux,
Was drinking wine with great gusto,
She was at a wine fair
When the police stopped her there,
The breathalyzer blew up with one blow.

The gendarmes wouldn't let her walk home,
So she called a soldier friend on the phone,
He arrived in a tank
As drunk as a skank,
Now they both sit in the cells all alone....

From a Balcony In Paris
From a Balcony in Paris

Fine rain
open umbrella
Sitting on the balcony
Of a hotel
Overlooking
Haussmann-Saint Lazare.
Throngs of people
Something has changed
People drink
Starbuck
Eat hamburgers
On the hoof.
Old restaurant closed
Converted
To fast-food joints.
I sigh
Drink from the bottle
Of Bordeaux
To avoid
Getting rainwater
In my wine....

Le Tigre
the tiger deflowers and lays to flat
a pride and hubris you've long kept intact
perched on thin bough
         stripped cat of its meow
claws cut through bush, red earth and Muntjac

and teeth draw blood on a great Pollack canvas
dark as Bordeaux in a patterned Acanthus
a thick spray of clay
         blooming arches and folds
the verdigris breath of a desert-night cold...

Essential Spirits
She was like Bordeaux,
a tall drink of spirit
He was more a hopped
pale lager like Pilsner,
both gorgeous and
super gingered flavors,
although clashing mid
respective savored aplomb,
one so refined the other
rowdy after hours,
yet they complimented
each other in the way
they blended their
drunken demeanors,
intoxicated by mere
existence of nature's
essential complexities...

Fair Isle sweater
Fair woman fine
Torn up love letter
Red Bordeaux wine
Heart patterns in the sky
Sapphires for her eyes
Red velvet, soft caress
Jean jacket with a dress
Lessons where she's sitting down
I stand behind her arms around
Her, as I help to guide her hands
Mesmerized, I cannot stand
Lemon verbena in the air
Brie, Raclette, Anjou pear
Fragrant zephyr, apprehend
Time stand still, dream don't end...

Premium Member The Cock and Bull
The Cock and Bull in darkened street,
and the lintel like mahogany.
I liked the way the corner turned
and did this so abruptly.

I liked the shutters closed for night -
they were really quite appealing,
and never in the darkness grown
would you know that they were peeling.

The tram rails were in front of me
and darkened trams were moving,
and eventually I got on one
and left Bordeaux behind me.

Rem Changeling
She danced upon my sleepy knife-edge
Rem sleep concealed; my hollow tin ledge
Was the naked girl who stole my show

Labanotation echoed her tarred shamed knees
Free falling from grace, cumulating fees
Have every my gutter pushed so low?

Integument tally, a dollar per pound
Rumoured lies within; no truth found
Flesh voucher paid in Bordeaux

So I flickered in though
Scar tissue hand did plough
My poured soda fountain flow...

Bold girl Paulette went alone to Tokyo from Bordeaux
Wore the local dress to get lost in the crowd
On a calm day wind would surge she didn’t know
Bold girl Paulette went alone to Tokyo from Bordeaux
She didn’t bother when the gust swirled up her kimono
For, of her shapely legs she was very proud
Bold girl Paulette went alone to Tokyo from Bordeaux
Wore the local dress to get lost in the crowd.
