One can escape

the seriousness of the weekend

by hiding behind one of the booths

There once were some voters from here
With factual knowledge unclear
Once in voting booths
Without simple truths
Picked with whom they'd rather drink beer...

These Booths
snow s around soon
mabe at the full moon
 when snow looks white
the nights bright
and lights up the night
and i got some loots
as we shop and stop

Empty Booths
the diners are silent,

and close before dusk,

solitary kettles boil,

in quiet homes glowing in the night,

and unringing phones.

how are you today?

is all we ever say,

and one day we’ll all get together...

Clark Kent
Metropolis didn't have any more phone booths which wasn't fair,
Clark Kent now having to change out in the open air,
one day while he was changing,
elderly ladies started fainting,
thinking he was some stripper from Chippendales....

Alexandre, the young alpinist from a southern France,
attaches crampons to his tough climber's booths,
to ascend the dangerous ridges of Mount Rose,
and with the same ice axe, he climbed Mount Everett!

Come Back Little Sheba
barnum would have been proud
bulldogs in too twos
embraces for show
disks and dark booths
raw raws
scaffolding on saxophones
Scotland-yards of curtains
damp mermen
virginia sweet william
and dollar bills in
the greatest broken worth...

Phosphenes
In disbelief
Phosphenes shine
All I see
Is only mine
The trails
The ghosts
The U.F.O.s
The me I am
The highs and lows
Glimpses of truth,
Wasted youth
Implausible outcomes
Photo booths
Distorted views
Slanted trees
The little sights
I can’t unsee...

Generate Mad Dog Income
Hand over fist
Tightly bound mist
Falling change washes
Covering new day UN-derailed

Timelines metabolize truth
Driven skull to shine and buffer
Smoothie abuse, set up new booths!
A concoction of American bliss

Rage to the end of the world
See the bills unfurl
Leverage this beast
Make it complete...

THE CLOSET TAN MAN

Gawd, is it just me,
Biden is turning orange
Trump's closet tan man

"One can only presume Biden has found one Trump's spray tan booths left
behind in the White House, as he now appears slightly more on the orange
side when making his presidential speeches" . . .

"So to Jan Allison's question, it appears so, ha ha ha . . . ; )...

A Not-So-Fine Line
There’s a not-so-fine line
Between antiques and junk.
Some objects of “value”
A pro may debunk.

While others, so old
They are covered in rust,
Seem worthless, so passing
Them over’s a must.

Still, it can be fun
Checking out all the wares
At various flea markets,
Shops, booths and fairs.

It takes a keen eye
To uncover some treasure,
But poking around
Brings a “Look at this!” pleasure....

Attack Amen
The steeples tower over our flags
Dissent is not allowed here
How dare you not say the pledge!
Shots ring out in the crowded halls
Our children fall; victims of the sickness
We awaken from fractured dreams of something resembling freedom
Our electronic opinions hang like public laundry on a line
Eyeless sheep file out of the pews and into the voting booths
And the gods recklessly direct baseless wars against ourselves...

"bridges Crossed"
No more toll booths to reach an empty place..
A bridge that can't be crossed with trust or haste..
Faith and truth ran away with little discretion...
Darkness now covers the landscape of in decisions...
Tall steel towers outline the pathway back to my haven...
No more empty feeling as all unsaid words are put to saving...
My mind clear and free to work only in love and peace...
So here I write for eyes not known only shared and free......

Growth
The years of our youth,
Spent behind the bottles of booze;
Behind the booths and the bars,
Behind these dark red scars.
The siren warned of this life,
But the flashing lights will win the buzz of sight.
Fallen, and also blinded by the truth,
No grabbing of the hands,
Except for this bottle of booze.
Laying on my back,
Looking up at summer;
The thunder,
The thunder,
The rolling of winds;
Laying on this rock is where the beginning now ends....

Visions of Today
The moon has
receded from sight
   And now the sun shines
      down on our verdant earth
Where are the lovers of yesterday?
   Have they faded into shadow?
Or are they ghosts haunting the polling booths?
  The election is coming
The vast majority of Americans
will decide the fate of our land
Shall hate rule the day?
Looks like it might!
So enjoy the sunshine while ye may
for it may soon be time
for the war of love versus hate
   to begin...

Greek Dinner
Had some time to kill while in
A town we don't know well.
Found a place to eat - looked good,
As far as we could tell.

The booths were cozy, seats were filled
And portions (took a peek)
Looked generous and yummy;
The proprietor was Greek.

The salad was delicious
And the grape leaves were the best.
The soft warm bread most surely
Put will power to the test.

The spinach pie and baklava
Did help round out the meal,
A random unexpected find
And also, a great deal!...
