A Not-So-Fine Line

There’s a not-so-fine line Between antiques and junk. Some objects of “value” A pro may debunk. While others, so old They are covered in rust, Seem worthless, so passing Them over’s a must. Still, it can be fun Checking out all the wares At various flea markets, Shops, booths and fairs. It takes a keen eye To uncover some treasure, But poking around Brings a “Look at this!” pleasure.

I went to a flea market once, bought six fleas and they turned out to be a matching set… RESULT! Over here we have Boot (trunk) sales. I like mooching around them but nowadays… it is mostly junk… and few boots. ;-) Terry

One of the things I miss most about not being able to do so regularly since the pandemic began is going to flea markets. But I'm not sure I ever considered whether something was "treasure" or "junk", or even who the previous owner may have been. Each and every item I inspected was a rare find to me. This one really hits home, Ilene.

Ah, it does, indeed, Ilene. I love yard sales, flea markets, etc. Recently I paid $25 for a Murano vase at a yard sale that is valued at between $80-100. You just never know what you'll run across...but you must be "in the know," of course. Good one.
