A vulture boarded
A jumbo jet
Carrying two dead

"I'm sorry sir,
Only one carrion
Per passenger"
Form:
there was a young man named Dennis
who staggered from a pub in Ennis
he thought he boarded a train
but woke up on a plane
and found he was headed to Venice
She returned to savor her childhood dreams
the flowers by the brook, the trees by the stream
She found a paved road, a boarded-up cabin
her depth of despair, no developer imagines
We boarded a flight to Hong Kong
Our pilot was called Sum Ting Wong
I’d a smile on my face
As his flying was ace -
His parents sure got his name wrong!

Time travelers
who drews routes
those who leave the logbook empty
journeys in a misty wheather
we are among the ice mountains
pirates once cut our road off
we boarded descend and ride at every dock
A house in motion near an ocean ... cautious one to leave.
A highland house owned by time affects one ... wakes to a place in whites.
A house boarded by healed one ... one's beach house welcomes New Year.
The train’s pulling out of the station now
Not everyone’s boarded the old cash cow
The POTUS got left behind
A sign of radical times ~
'Wheels of progress' just ground him into chow
Jolly Santa boarded his magic sleigh
And told his reindeer, “Up, up and away.”
They hauled his round jellied girth
Many times around the earth
Without gifts to bring - supply chain delay.

There's plenty of goodness out there
but it's been fanged by the puff adder DJS
now goodness is slowly dying on media vines
behind boarded up windows and riot fire
with pistols and rosaries at the ready
awaiting the fires of salvation
Me Myself and A Moron
Me, myself and a
Moron who we wish were gone
And quartered and drawn.
Trump is allergic to
being water boarded.
He even still bares the
scars from his bone
spurs he had to avoid
the draft with.

Long back, a lottery ticket, I bought
Won a small sum which was lucky I thought
I boarded a bus with that cash
Lost five times that win in a flash
To a pickpocket, which left me distraught.
For: Susan Burch’s Lottery ticket limerick contest, 6 Jan 11
With a loud hoot it alerted, with resounding clangs it boomed
The people were informed, that it had arrived
A lot in its stomach it carried, from far away it transported
To the city it headed, when all at the station boarded
The Express Train was soon gone.
An overweight lady named Annie
Has got an absurdly large fanny
Since she boarded a plane
That is destined for Spain
She's wedged in the seat in Miami!
Thanks to Andrea for helping me with the meter for this one

the windows of her soul
the ones smudged
from people peering in
have clouds passing by them
the windows of her soul
the ones boarded up
when people wander past
have cracks in the glass
the windows of her soul
the ones painted
in a black that peels
are tightly sealed

she was touched by a phantom
becoming a phantom too
both boarded coral carriage
wheels grate cobble streets in mist
opera seats were waiting
then to swirl on dancing floor
she relished escaping hours
When the money runs
out. Silhouettes of
shadows. Abandoned
buildings with boarded
windows. Crumbling brick
-facades. The gray sky
hides the wind. Every
-thing expands. The eye
-s see far into the
distance. No more touch.
Words lose meaning. Empty
train tracks. Electronic
music beeps and fades.
Skyline of rowed houses
Rolls past and
So do the greys of labour,
Conservative and otherwise
Are boarded on the decks of
Oil tankers; hollow
Hulking HMS something
Sleeps in the docks
Of the town once red
Now muddy brown
And sick,
Labour wise and
Reading Caledonia.
Aberdeen 2012 on route to Shetland
gray clouds drift slowly
gathering in southern sky
Ian is coming
windows are boarded
emergency sirens loud
winds coming faster
southern sky now dark
Mother Nature is angry
Gulf waters churning
traffic flows northward
palm trees are bending over
Ian is screaming

FRIGHTENING THINGS
i’m in the chapel
it’s night the room is empty
loud c minor chord!
old mansion
boarded-up
chimney smoking
ruined mansion
boarded-up
window lit near the top
piano recital
moonlight sonata
mouse!
my roommate
weird smile
unusual eye teeth
mi Musa uses
a translator to
express her
words to
me
typing what she
wants to say
rapido makes
for the words
of inspiration
as i write this
she has boarded
an airplane to take
her cake and eat it too
birthday vacation
so she wrote and
who more poetic than
a true Musa would breathe
inspiring me with her words
"I'm already mounted on the yummy"
Form:
boarded train at birth
journeying endlessly
with little possessions
amidst noisy clickey-clack
stopping at stations
meeting new
bidding adieu to old
through pleasant surrounds
and dark tunnels
pondering about
life and destination
trying to make some meaning
of this meaningless journey
by reading scriptures
seeking to end
this journey forever
After a tired
labor of love day
got on the Trane
and after a few Miles
I reached Monk
later laying
back travelling
towards Sarah
and Nina
and after
getting Dizzy
headed West
boarded Bird
flying onto Art
leaving me
to ink
this poetic flow
I’m sharing with you
before my melatonin
MJQ disembark
to peacefully Cannonball
deeply into
poetic gigging…
A cold, comfortless park bench
an empty subway train
A bed of leaves, trending damp
a knoll of grass behind an exit ramp
Long-abandoned shacks
or railroad tracks
Boarded-up homes
no-trespassing danger zones
All these serenade me to sleep
echo the music, all night I weep
Standing on the wrong side of the platform
waiting for the train
Remembering the mistakes I made
but not the reasons why
Listening for the truth beyond the excuse
feeling what my thoughts would never allow
I boarded in the dark….
Ticketed, to a new and unplanned destination
—fated, to a distant terminal unknown
(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2015)
Young afraid heard tales told
Boarded upon ships
Not in search of gold
Far from family home
Life of drudgery
Mary Bryant
Daring lady
She escaped
Facing dangers
New life hers
Soon found out
Sent back home
Famous
Was she
Pardoned
(Loosely based on the story of Mary Bryant who was in prison in Whales and sent to
Australia to serve out her sentence.)
