Mental insanity
And Christianity
Aren’t really synonyms,
Most of the time.
Still, it’s befitting
(The reader permitting)
To notice how closely they rhyme.

                                plastic flowers for your grave

Befitting a Queen

Wailing winds warn Winter’s nigh rattling the skeletal trees, as flurries of flakes hail Her, befitting a Queen. Written Nov.6, 2015 for “Winter Dodoitsu - Poetry Contest”.

Lost In Humanity

Aggressive, befitting candor,
defies empathetic fervor.
Grave honesty is just,
kindness literally must not.
Omen partakes ***** retribution,
savoring tantamount usurpation.
Vulgar words expound,
yields to zero

Feathery Fluff

Snowflakes like feathery fluff tumble from frigid skies. Spreading out like a down duvet, feeling snugly soft; and yet, icy cold to the touch. A shroud, befitting Autumn's splendiferous dead; wove by Winter's hand.

A Lame Duck

It's befitting to call Trump a 'Lame Duck'
Cares only about himself; what a schmuck!
He won't admit defeat
"I WON," he types in tweet
Shame on him. He ran our country amok!

The Perfect Woman

She has a beauty
that no poet can pen down;
a beauty like the sparkling
reflection of a clear, night sky
on the skin of a lake

She is the kind of lady
who can make any man
content with her nature
and conduct, befitting
a goddess

She is a woman who hasn't
been born yet

Hate

HATE(5-8)

Hope haunts my hierarchy in a manner most befitting Hades hounds.

Alluring as it almost is, I opt to alleviate my ails through the Almighty.

The terrible torrential tempest of thought tempt me in a twist.

Everlasting eludes me evermore in exchange for an emerging epiphany of essential
ecstasy.

Here With Beauty Stirring Time

Here with beauty stirring time
Methinks that all the world is blind
Avast! Beyond a distant sea
She moves and flirts with liberty
In such motion there beside
Grande romaunt is undenied
It seems befitting for me to dream
Then in my secret languishing
Of her in motion of her in song
Of love when all the world is wrong

On St Patrick's Day

Today there won’t be a parade;
Concessions that Covid has made.
With no bagpipes or fifes
It’s befitting, since life’s
At a standstill from which we’ve not swayed.

Still, I’m wearing a bit o’ the green
Though, of course, if I had to come clean,
Being Irish I’m not
But I’ve never forgot
On St. Pat’s to become a colleen.

The Evil Winding Road

No more chaos
A little more easement
Levelling to eternity
A spirit befitting all.
Running from him.
Running to survive.
Running from the elder.
I don’t want the knowledge
The knowledge to hasten all.
I am a historian
A scholar.
A religious scholar.
I don’t need this
My glasses fall.
I can’t see.
I can’t read.
Nothing matters anymore.

A Set Of B

Bystanders of waves,
plethora of marine life;
Awe inspiring breach.

Bandeleros break
the grip of society;
Culture’s climate shifts.

Brackish voices sing
the blues inside the bayou;
Salty metaphors.

Background stars still shine
although they’re never in front;
Juxtaposition.

Back it up baby,
better give it all you got;
Befitting a boss.

Pearl 1

PEARL

Invested with iridescence
Calcium carbonate could impersonate
And subvert solemn daylight.

In the indifferent ocean
Oysters copulate with future
And grow gravid in nature.

Begetting a rare solidity
Befitting a miniscule masterpiece
Which is just happenstance

For a huge price, this prised-out gift.

What the River Can Deliver

What the river can deliver
Is a sense of calm and peace.
While it’s flowing, it is showing
Me anxiety’s release.

Sun rays glisten as I listen
To the slapping of the waves
And the chugging of boats tugging
Is a sound my spirit craves.

For my money, when it’s sunny,
There is not another place
Where just sitting is befitting
All the stillness I embrace.

High Heel Blues

‘Eau De Cologne’ breaches his senses as he walks towards the lady,
Her attire befitting of a bygone age; tastefully blending in with-
Her elegance and sophistication. She keels over like a ship in –
A stormy sea, yet within a moment her face straight laced passes him by
Affords him the slightest of smiles, as he touches his cap to salute her.

For As Long As You Allow M

For As long as you will allow me, I shall stay by your side and raise the fire to the heavens. Show the world the brilliance that have yet to experience within you. I'll tear down the skies and paint you a new canvas of blues. A world befitting of a girl as beautiful as yourself. Smiles and laughter will fill the emptiness within both of us, as a new life will begin. a new future. a new passion.

Amoeba To Arctic

Nature is a greater and more perfect art
These words of Thoreau
Are as befitting and sweet as a raspberry tart

Amoeba to Arctic
Nature is God’s dearest creation
Colours, shapes, sizes all fabulous
Humans can stand still &pour appreciation
Nature is a blessing and to pinch it is ridiculous

Preserve Nature, reap showers in
Clean Air, cool water,
Warm fire, clean sky
And a green earth
A perfect place to live in

Non Existing Baby Boy Inner World

The biggest question of language in text book demands,
Primarily,
-Are you diaper trained?
Secondly,
-I do not care about your Brest fed strength.
DAMN!

And all I will show you that I can afford a display board
live and 24 hour befitting services
For sisterhood, for brotherhood,

Holy Garbage and trivial Garbage
Michelle with Muslim in –laws or
Hussein in with linked errors.

These kinds of stuffs.

Blow Your Trumpet

Who doesn't know I can bake
A befitting king John's Cake
And other senior Job's take:
People of High profile make?
Far into the night awake,
Knowledge displayed for its sake,
None of my finished products fake
Not what makes hirers rake
Nor cause to drown in a lake
Nor me liken to a snake...

Sure, I'm blowing my trumpet,
Claiming sweet - smelling armpit:
I had been Luck's Ignored Pet
For decades with eyelids wet...

The Language of Poetry

Language is a power
That can be used in many ways.
In a poem, subject matter is not the issue;
Depth of imagination
And its articulation into language is,
And the imagination is free
To follow whatever subject matter
It finds compelling.
Poetry functions as a way to remember,
But a poet must realize and understand
The difference between memory and nostalgia
And find and use language
That is most befitting for either situation.

Viola

Violets grow in vibrant purple hues
flourishing in pinks and blues
cheerful in a place of sorrow
mocking the solemnity of the cold grey stones
echoing the spirit of the woman
laid to rest beneath the blooming colors
for her spirit and vitality
cannot be snuffed out by death
she has become more vibrant
than the flowers whose name she wore
with the elegance and beauty
befitting a flower of God.

Rest in Peace, Grandma, I miss you.

Half Empty and Half Full

Somewhere, sometime, there is a silence, like people are there where they would not want to be, like they did not hear the things they would not be. A scoop full of
thoughts, questioning the existence, doubting the right.
A befitting key in the lock tells us about the relationship. Half full and half empty is the situation for every person when he becomes a victim of such people who cannot
face their righteous nature and kind behaviour.

Shape-Shifting

Were I adept at shape-shifting I would avoid shadow-lifting And eschew re-gifting, I would spend more time sifting Through forms more befitting And most likely give up babysitting! Were I adept at shape-shifting I think I would consider quitting, Or at least admitting, Shape-shifting is hair-splitting All things possible permitting, And take up crochet or knitting!

Pain Breeds Beauty

<
Speak your melodies and I'll dream of harmonies that will someday be befitting of your artistry Similarly Voice your euphony and I'll dream of poetry that will someday be worthy of your flattery, and lure you into rhapsody - pure ecstasy with each word that breathes between the pages from beneath those eyes that never cease to critique, and a breath that reeks of deceit and deserted dreams that I still cling to
