What the River Can Deliver

What the river can deliver
Is a sense of calm and peace.
While it’s flowing, it is showing
Me anxiety’s release.

Sun rays glisten as I listen
To the slapping of the waves
And the chugging of boats tugging
Is a sound my spirit craves.

For my money, when it’s sunny,
There is not another place
Where just sitting is befitting
All the stillness I embrace.

Women can watch the waves roll in for hours on end; is something fishy going on? Recordings of babbling brooks soothe them at hospitals and doctor's offices, so you are right on the money, again! Aloha! Rico

This resonates so well with me. Haven't thought of the slapping of the waves for too long, as I've been landlocked since March. I'm FAVing this one! Thanks, Gershon

Wonderful rhyming, my friend. So true about the peace that comes from sitting and watching the water flow by.
