I Check Hotel Beds
I check hotel beds
imagine them lurking there
shudder at the word
shorten it to just BBs
the very thought makes me sweat

Sleep Tight
Sleep Tight

By Elton Camp

Tom stayed in a cheap, sleazy hotel

It was dirty and had a very bad smell

Then it made him sad

At home a problem had

For he brought back bedbugs as well...

In a Hotel Room
Romantic dreams were shattered when
They roamed the sheet in search of food
And hunted on the pillowcase;
The bedbugs spoilt the loving mood…*

For Susan’s Hotel Room contest

A true story – have had a phobia ever since!...

Some People
Some people
like chocolate
like wine
like spring sale
like tivoli
like confetti
and then other people
like bedbugs
like hiccup
like the song on your mind
like an alarm clock
and the warm red shawls
in winter time...

Metamorphosis of Marriage
When courtship is golden,
marriage becomes diamond.
But let it go sore,
charcoal, marriage becomes.

The once previous thing,
you handle only with gloves,
to light its fire for one reason;
to burn bedbugs infesting
mouths and ribs of the other...

An Old Tramp Fast Asleep
an old tramp fast asleep
on a bench in an empty park
no sounds or visible movements
yet on his worn out clothes
fleas hop and bedbugs and lice crawl

Basically,
     bashful
     brownish
     brazen
     bugs
     besotted
     by
     bubbling
     blood
     browse
     between
     bedsheets…
     best
     brief:
     better
     banish
     before
     bedtime;
     beware
     body
     bites!

Blistering Attack
A peacock becomes non-violent
keeping the warheads
in his tail. In bird hour
who wants to blink ?

The chicken runs amok.
Lying motionless was
painful for being slaughtered.
Subversion was more acceptable-

than falling in love. The bare
chest shows a gored scar.
They have started a dance
to entice a herd of pachyderms.

Bleeding ? No. They have
cobbled an army of bedbugs
to start a violent protest
against the moon.
