an old tramp fast asleep
on a bench in an empty park
no sounds or visible movements
yet on his worn out clothes
fleas hop and bedbugs and lice crawl

Hi Jack - congratulations on a superbly penned and imaginative poem - a very deserved win - strange we were writing about tramps on exactly the same day! Hugs, Jennifer.

Oh that poor man. He needs a meal, a bath and some new clothes and a place to sleep. Really good description here. God Bless, JB

all so sad...the vermin lives on him amidst an otherwise serene setting but we must take note.

Hi Jack, you have just reminded me of an incident on a trip to England about 25 years ago - in fact you have given me an idea for a poem. This one is a great description of a tramp - excellent - bravo - hugs, Jennifer.
