quite abhorrent,
slimy, and a world apart from
style and character, I warrant.

All they do is wriggle,
wiggle to distraction,
captured by the early bird
they're skewered to inaction,

yet they aerate the soil,
help in nature's grand design,
I must print a full retraction,
they're not grisly, they're just fine....
