Premium MemberWinter's Coming Kiss

A-rush
In a feather ruffling frenzy
cooling the flamboyant sunrise
muffling the warblers
with waffling winds

chilling the audience
in an ice-like stare
your shivery essence
ricochets through the canyon

startles the cliffs
bellows amid the echoes
of yesteryears challenge
stirs a red dust devil

they call you cold, December
for they are frail
and cannot bear the sting
of Winter’s hoary kiss

Premium MemberPretty Melancholy

Desolate, windswept trees are shivery,
when red and purple leaves are falling.
Ungathered cherries hang in reverie!
Desolate, windswept trees are shivery,
engaged in multihued, cool creativity.
Goodbye violet birds skyrocket, calling!
Desolate, windswept trees are shivery,
when red and purple leaves are falling.

Premium MemberWhen Summer is gone

Faint scents still linger, as summer slowly fades.
Sun silently hides behind smoky clouds,
as raindrops hum in a jaded symphony,
plummeting against misty windows,
vibrating against puddles upon pavements.
Leaves drift in the chill, revealing bare branches,
rustling in the breeze then soaking on the ground,
as gloomy skies colour moonlight into monochrome.

As shivery spirits seek shelter,
swan song flowers soak in melancholic tones,
reminiscent of a forgotten mother's lullaby,
whispering softly, but never faltering.

Nature's nakedness consumes the aura of my oasis,
as cold ghosts reappear, reflecting in resentful regret.
Ebony hues discolour the textured illusion of my rainbow,
as my soul serenades its harmony for hibernation.

Children of summer are like a leaf,
vibrant with colourful hues in spring,
but misplaced in Autumn, easily carried away with zephyrs.

Premium MemberWhen Raindrops Fall

Pitter patter on rain polished pavements
Tears straggling down window panes
The rattle of ricocheting raindrops on galvanised rooftops
Spiralling eddies in bull's eye puddles
Umbrellas ,shields fending off the sharpness
Of blasts of non-stop water bullets
Insidiously a soft drizzle penetrates
Right through to the skin
Producing shivery limbs
And chattering teeth
Transformed by the sun into glittering diamonds
Which disappear with the welcome arc of the rainbow.

Premium MemberA Poet's Crush Collaboration

But by grace do I shadow your form
from each darkened night to bright-lit morn.
You're silvery-white in my life's storm
hosting shivery thoughts yet unborn.

Would that my pen divine such meaning,
enflame fiery feelings unbidden
that stun me dumb at their convening.
My emotions revealed, unhidden.

Yet my disguise is opaque it seems.
You cross a transcendental realm –
unspoken vesper in sacral dreams
that never attains its lofty helm.

Someday, I know you will understand
my passionate affection for you -
How my heart bleeds with tender demand,
unformed entanglement to pursue!

My ink is flowing hoping to charm,
My poem an aphrodisiac.
Unwritten rhymes planning to disarm
and attract you to my love lilac.

Though you're beyond my bewitching reach,
I devote this unsung ode to us.
My dear, with unsaid words I beseech -
Let's join our hearts without further fuss.

A POET'S CRUSH - collaboration with Linda Alice Fowler

But by grace do I shadow your form

Premium MemberWinter Magic

Like a blanket woven of fluffy white fleece,
The snow lay thickly on the ground.
Angels had taken a huge fluffy cloud from the sky,
And blew it down to cover all around.

The frost in the air made a shivery haze.
No utterance of warmth could be found.
Winters wonder glistened everywhere,
And the cold winds made a chilling sound.

Snow fell in sheets as white as bright light.
Not a place for man nor beast most profound.
Nothing but bitter cold ice, sleet and snow.
Now Winter’s Magic. Colorful Crocus peeping through an icy mound.

Nena's Car

Driving so fast and so far
With the windows down
Letting the winter wind leave for a day or two
To bring in the shivery summer breezes.
To many lipstick-stained smiles,
Too many candied photos,
Too many times I wish I could feel like this forever.
But as parents ask questions,
And wonder when we’re coming home.
This feeling of uncertainty sinks to my stomach.
As she drives the car back to our so-called homes,
I remember to cherish all these times spent in Nena’s car.

Slip Through Palms

The rote shivery wind is Winter's maid—
she breaks heart to own the season's floor;
via frost's degrees in my throat,
while my glean lancet's chills burn.
I tape her over my
skin; my fingers in
our stitches show—
her peel true.
Gloves are
off.

Betoken My Soul

When it's me for you to get blind
Ehat else you'd have to see in this era

Inhuman

I saw one as to be dead
In front one blink of my eyes
What else even could be expected!

Sophistication
Mad was I in order
To have a simple thought process

Shivery

Soul at its’ peak and rupturing there
And one day it’ll die together with

Annoying?!

Strangled Star

Sounds of burning water lilies
Disorient the future contours,
A shivery breath fills
My cheery corner.

The blazing shadow of the sun crushes
The sphinx of my star,
And the promises dissolve
Before the strangled star.

Premium MemberPotting Shed Catches Gossip

Sunlight entered the aquamarine potting shed from the east
Beating the master gardener by a few minutes or steps
Ruffled marigold seeds were waiting to be planted in seedling trays
It was March the fifteenth, an opportune time to get things started

Potting shed was feeling joyfully optimistic
She had been shivery cold for the past three months
Her owner had kept her heat at a steady sixty-seven degrees
Muskrats and field mice had left her crawlspace for warmer places.

Mrs. G. arrived carrying armloads of sacks marked Lowes.
Two gorgeous African violets were pulled out first.
Their purple color was exquisite, they were dark and velvety.
Potting shed felt elated when she saw the floral tool bag

Here was her good friend, Jay, the Japanese hand hoe,
Sheila, the sierrated farmer’s dagger
And Hattie, the shiny new trowel – were all eager to talk.
Mrs. G. worked with fresh new dirt and pots for five hours.

The second she left the whispering began.
The tools had been shoved into a closet.
They had not seen much, but they had heard a lot.
Potting Shed sat back and listened to the latest gossip.

Beauty of the Night

Mystic moon, shimmering so bright;
Her silver shine rouses the night.
Like shining sun in amber glow,
she glows glitter where waters flow.

The shady shade of blinding dark
heaves high the worth of tiny spark;
While the bite of shivery snow
gives cozy chance for love to grow.

The lights of stars give hauling hope
to fainting faiths, for them to cope.
The mockingbirds sing soulful song
to show sad souls where they belong.

Through gleaming glow of wild bonfire
frosty flakes melt on hearts in ire.
The blazing beauty of the night
sparks bright boldness in hearts that fright.

Premium MemberBold and Shy Twin Dwarfs

The twin dwarfs were having a marvelous time
Until it got dark, and cold, and they felt shivery cold.
Do you think that anyone will mind….
If we start a little fire? Asked the oldest, name of Bold.

His brother Shy readily agreed they needed some fire.
So they got busy and built one, and it was long overdue.
Along came a bunny, a fox and a farmer named Sire.
That’s a great start, he said. Do you need some food too?

They followed Sire home where he welcomed them all inside.
A shed where the tiny animals began to take refuge and hide.
He brought out a pot, and they made a tasty vegetable stew.
They all felt indebted and excited, now wouldn’t you?
