Premium MemberSea and Sand

In the midst of no man’s land
In the town of my birth
Once I dreamed of sea and sand
Sitting on the granite earth
A lot of water has flown under
All the bridges where I stood
Looking down, caught up in wonder
It was real and too good
A lot of time has passed since then
At the sea resorts I’ve stayed
Walked upon all kinds of sand
Picked up shells along the way
Dreams of sea come out fulfilled
Love’s another dream I had
It came true and stayed until
Came the time of which I read
That it comes all of a sudden
Unexpected like the rain
On a sunny day in town
Where my love lived, and remains
Dreams turn real and vice versa
This reality’s a dream
In the ash of its dispersal
Over sea and sand I’ve seen.

There are dreams, unsought dreams, dreams fulfilled;
Why cherry pick - adventure is knocking at the door.

My Dream Within A Dream

they marched back into my life
          was this the afterlife
the family of his wife
this was not his fantasy life
but that was a smile on his wife

to go forth from safe place called home
across ocean’s deep, I did roam
a dream to kick up foam
make a family of our own
be fruitful with seeds sown
          and to grow a backbone
but still I missed my mom and dad
before I had writing pad
     a Navy adventure I had
          unsought dream that I had

putting your hand in God’s hand
hear music, strike up the band
where you put your feet is God’s land
          a steady flow of dreams
He heard my heart song, it seems
long time before that, poetry -
          a window, by the sea
wearing a Renaissance blouse
          before I had a spouse
for true blue lit up my lighthouse

Premium Memberwinter chills summer-time wishes

Words slur out drains in an alley,
winter chills as the flooding reaches
her sleeping bag & freezing feet
she reminiscences summer-time beaches,
flawed are the pieces in an art gallery
the beauty is in the artist's reaches,
of a society's greet on a bus seat,
a messiah washes away the bloody.

Southern Cross

The Saint Lucia flag reflects the tropical sky,
with the colour blue representing fidelity
and the emerald waters
of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea.
Gold represents the prevailing sunshine
and, of course, prosperity.
The triangles, they symbolize mountains,
the Soufriere twin Pitons,
and the people's hope and aspirations.
While there, couldn't help but smile,
for tho' located north of the equator,
with my eyes on an unusual sight
where, low on the horizon, and with clear skies,
I saw the Southern Cross every night.

Faith, Hope And Charity

Three sisters; Faith, Hope, Charity and me
were swimming naked in the moonlight
all together in a sea of tranquility
when gravity threw Hope across the water
it really shouldn't oughta
as that left Faith, Charity and I
but Faith departed can't think why
perhaps because three's a crowd
yet Charity remained unbowed
so to her I gave a tender kiss
not thinking it would be amiss
the slap she handed me it burned
seems it was all much too soon
and on that night the lesson learned
I may as well kiss the moon

Gotcha !

Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when with surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art !
Unpredictable seas with droplets that spray oh how the sharp rocks being where they lay,
Affects how sea nymphs stalk and capture their prey as if it were, a play !
Restless winds pervade the air oh how the clouds suggest a dare,
Looking like sheep jumping over fences oh how it stirs the sky and senses !
Crackling fire illuminating the shadows of the night oh how with mysteries of the light,
Animals will watch the humans make camp as if each camper is, a scamp !
Powerful gaze holding years of hope oh how with vulnerability and the will to cope,
Looks knowingly into the void as if it were, a mental sanctuary to be employed !
Unstoppable magnetism attracts us to one oh how unexpected, powerful and fun,
When cupid’s arrow aims for you, there isn’t much that you can do !

Your ship and crew behind you,

May Heaven soon remind you.

                                                   I am Blue

I am the blue of a clean sky
Where every bird yearns to fly high,
The azure hue of a calm sea
                                    Where every fish loves to be free;

I`m the blue of a mountain peak
That imparts peace to minds that seek,
The sapphire gem eyed in the air
                                       That instills solace with a flair;

I am the blue of worthy trust
One can rely on without fuss.

Patty Master

Flippin patties, fresh and hot,
SpongeBob’s grill is the best spot.
The secret formula, a secret so tight,
Makes the Krabby Patty just right!

Flippin’ fast with perfect skill,
Each patty cooked with extra thrill.

He loves his job, he’s full of cheer,
But he’s messy, and sometimes weird.
With cheese and buns, he’s set to go,
Serving up patties with a big hello!

Bikini Bottom knows his name,
SpongeBob’s patties bring him fame!
With every flip and every bite,
They bring us joy from day to night!

Premium MemberSemi-Salted

He deserved, but never served

As a squid just like his dad

Well preserved, but fragile nerved

All emotions were unclad

Anxiously, he set to sea

Needing moxy really bad

Waves of three, his soul set free

Now ever a salty lad

Mary Anning 1799-1847

Born in Lyme Regis Dorset
a palaeontologist fossil collector
in the English Channel marine bed cliffs
and a coprolites (faeces) detector
who at only twelve years old
found the first two skeletons plesiosaur
and outside Germany
that of a pterosaur
yet as a woman who did not
always receive full credit
for her scientific contributions
and ineligible to join to their discredit
the Geological Society of London
while struggling financially
for her it was no shell game
to make ends meet as circumstantially
when selling shells by the seashore
the seashore shells she sold
were her start of the first shell company
by the Natural History Museum in London I was told

Premium MemberDweller of Our Heart

Born among stars, for a star, too, am I
A scion of the Earth and the star-filled sky
Helios, my name, called by ancient ones
Stardust clings as I am now among suns

My essence is of sea waves at high tide
or, as they gently kiss shore, then collide
The hills share portions of the mystery
as they often bend down and kiss the sea

The wind whispers as it calls my real name
It scatters ice crystals where snow lays claim
The gardens of flowers, fruits and leafed trees
Mix with scent of honey, carried by bees

I know night and day under lilac skies
Dawn to Sunset I am Time as it flies
All are my essence, born of older time
I am dweller in human heart divine

S-O-S

Am I on an island launching bottles out to sea
beached at the waterline will someone rescue me
I'm drowning not waving as the boats go by
abandoned at high tide does anyone hear my cry
here am I sad to say writing messages in the sand
marooned a lonely castaway will somebody lend a hand
if I'm on an island will my ship come in
or has it run aground did it go down
with only thoughts of you to keep me alive
when will my ship ever arrive
here on an island sending signals from the shore
stranded high and dry will no one hear my call
found my freedom a big mistake I made
there's not another living soul around
loneliness the price I paid
and my tears are the only sound
if only my time I could rewind
but am I really on a deserted island
or is it only in my mind

Sea Of Tranquility

By day my dreams go drifting
of their own design
I find my mind wandering
down to the waterline
for a change of scene
let's you and me
go swimming in the sea
of tranquility
leave all cares behind
we'll sail away sometime soon
and bathe by the light of the moon

Candle

There he was still as a windless night,
As if adorned in the drapes of the stormy sky,
His shield covering the faintest shimmer's plight.

The candle held on to its whispering glow,
On the shores of the unending sea,
It held on in the ruthless wind's blow.

Why the ritual of protecting a such memory,
In the great winds of every new spring,
Having slightest the light of the star's treasury?

"It must live on in the dark, in the light,
It must live on in the sun, in the rain,
For she still lives, still seeks this sight."
