ballad to coffee

where would i be without your warmth
your gentle aroma wafting through
heating my cold hands
my heart is overjoyed when i hold you
a silent grounding taste
i've never cared where you came from
simply savoured your purity
i love you in mornings and evenings
on rainy days and sunny mornings
when its january
and when its november
you are one of the main reasons i love to wake up
if i could i would bottle up the taste
and revisit it every day
as is i already have you too much

Premium MemberEvery moment counts

along life's journey
simple joys are the gems
to be stockpiled and amassed

opportunities are simply
bits of freedom to blossom
into time well savoured

Premium MemberCoffee together at sunset

We had a day
straight out of a dream,
perfect in every way.

We savoured our favourite dinner,
satiated, kicked back,
put up our feet.

It was pure harmony,
we didn't want it
to ever end.

Front row seats
for the best outdoor
show in town.

A mug of french vanilla
coffee in hand,
we were one with the universe.

A touch is a Hug for the Lonely

A touch is a hug for the lonely,
I thought as I sat on that plane.
The sleeping man beside me,
Would never know that feeling he made.

As his head nodded off,
His elbow extended to mine.
This little little tap
Echoed in a hollow mine.

I savoured such a warm embrace,
From the man that would never know me,
But I couldn’t help but be reminded,
Of all those times I have felt lonely.

Our savoured path

As the path we take begins to waver
And we look to any for a favor
We might lose our way
But at the end of the day
It is those moments that we may savour

IF AT FIRST

Five times I asked Jenny
If we ought to wed.
Five times she rejected me,
Said she’d rather be dead.
A little harsh I reckoned

And so I propositioned Dawn.
She answered no as well.
As did Anne and Madelaine
And Millie, Sue and Nell.
Life as a bachelor beckoned

But finally you said yes
And ended all those fears.
So today we are celebrating
The passing of fifty years.
I have savoured every second

Premium MemberI Will Dream

The
world goes
on without
you, my daughter.
The sun shines so bright,
warming my broken heart,
smiling down from way above—
a reminder of God’s grand plan,
that we will be together again.
In my arms, you will be so safe from harm,
where each moment will be savoured deeply.
The empty years of life without you
will be wiped away in one sweep,
building memories so sweet.
Oh, hearing your laughter,
seeing your brown eyes,
and those dimples…
I will dream—
until
then.

Premium MemberThe vaporised self

To be just like him, smiling as he fell,
we set out to make void-centric soul’s stance,
assured that with God within, all is well,
so melding head with heart, we took a chance,
to turn toward love, our platonic glance.
With mind unfrozen, once heart was open,
magnetism manifested as chosen,
suffused with bliss heat, our vibrance upbeat,
we savoured soma nectar ambrosian,
our soul’s presence surrendered at God’s feet.

SIMPLY YEATS

SIMPLY YEATS

My verse under Yeats’ carved door
he merrily chuckled at white
envelope, sketched butterfly
said he preferred to receive
verses this way rather
than reading them across
post-modern websites

He invited me to tea
we simply savoured small
cheese squares, crumbly
scones watching a squirrel
chomp a cheerful chestnut
lost and found
What word can describe
fleeting images of poets
graduated, yet living on ?

Vacant ….a vacancy
that awaits a word
wandering ethereal
manifesting ____
a lover expecting his
Beloved with cherries
a shadow across
poetic dreams

Premium MemberRenewal continual

Subtle scents resurrected by desire,
hijacked by ego, crystallise as thought,
a symbol seeking to depict that fire,
which divine inspirations to heart brought,
attempting to cage sun rays but cannot,
with words merely pointing out to that taste,
savoured, embraced and released by soul chaste.

In silence, becoming one with life’s flow,
as the source that enlivens form of dust,
relinquishing thus ego’s need to know,
vibrance of innocence radiates trust,
as of choiceless choice doing as it must,
to reinvent creation by love’s touch,
relying not upon lower mind crutch.

Premium MemberWingless flight

Spine is a thirty three stringed harp
upon which God plays when it’s dark,
imbibed by our toroidal heart,
whence bliss ignition does so start,
piercing every body vector,
causing flow of soma nectar,
savoured by presence in delight ~
such dear friends, is soul’s wingless flight.

Endlessly Savoured To Rot

Fragile rocks diminish from the soul
A heart made out of gold
Is just a heart made out of stone
You'll melt or you'll wither
What's felt is a sliver
But that sliver can feel colossal

Before and behind me's my ghost
Reflections and shadows
Will forever follow
I'm my one possession
The rest is obsession
The sun burns through endless black holes

Eclipsed by a thought
And twist in a knot
We are endlessly savoured to rot

SEIJAKU

SEIJAKU

That special moment in the eye of the storm
When all is swirling fast and loud around you
Yet you are in a pocket that is calm and still
As if a waved wand had stopped the world
Conjuring sudden silence amidst the clamour
One is a snapshot from an animation movie
Caught by surprise, in an instant of serenity
Open mouthed, slowly blinking and nodding
Grateful that someone threw a secret switch
Pausing the universe, if only for a few minutes
Allowing that precious time to gather thoughts
That otherwise would be lost in the maelstrom
Allowing one deep breath taken after another
A heavy gunfire of signals in the brain, ceases
Heartrate settles, and vision resumes its focus
So that each passing second can be welcomed
Slowly savoured, as if a delicate amuse bouche
Yet knowing that such a gift of time cannot last
At least, now aware that such a state can exist
From which one may emerge better balanced
Stronger, and poised to re-engage once more

Premium MemberYou Will always be on my Mind

She lay serenely on the cold slab
Elegantly dressed in white,
A secret smile embossed upon her lips
That even death could ne'er erase.
I looked at her for quite some time.

My memories dwelt for a time long
Of by-gone days when we were young,
Days fully lived and justly savoured,
Days of exciting, enticing emotions,
Revisited and recaptured mostly in my past.

Alas, she's gone forever now,
The finite sands of time ran out,
As spring and summer always do.
Life was spilled now and hope died,
Still no dreary dirge for me,
But rather squander time in living dreams
So I often indulge in my autumn days,
You will always be on my mind.
