If Saturn were a rainbow
Would we feel any differently
About looking through a telescope to see her?
I imagine she would be beautiful
With pinks, yellows, blues, and light greens.
I imagine it ….
And I want to look through a telescope now
For the very first time.
Sit on the planet Saturn.
Like a sassy urn.
Wait until the waiter walks over.
A four leaf clover.
Help yourself to the lucky plate.
With chicken wings that you only thought you ate.
Maybe take a fork and let it fly.
Into the evil eye.
Sit on a planet like earth.
Feel the birth.
Rocks sliding down the mountain.
I already sent in my job application.
I could sit in bed and write.
The plight of the kite.
Or the knight who has a boxcutter in his hand.
Who sinks it into the ice cream as if it’s sand.
At a funeral, I could cry as much as they say I should.
Or remember that old neighborhood.
Where we took a walk.
Where we shook the tree like a hawk.
A four leaf clover in the afternoon.
It always feels too soon.
Moving from outer space to the grassy hills.
Writing my wills.
If poems could walk.
They would be fast like that corn stalk.
If poems could run in circles.
The funeral would be full.
The thought of you makes my heart sing
You inspire a fire with yellow joy you bring
And I can dandelion dream do anything
Even esteem skating upon Saturns rings
If love is a timeless black hole
I’d be hopelessly consumed
Left my planet of silver soul
To space travel with you
Not knowing the sky
Is not as big as our love
Time can’t fly or divide
What universe has for us
Anything you ask of me
Will get a cranberry reply
Anything you want baby
For you set my star on fire
I find delight in the night
And safety displays in day
For a body’s last delight
Engage you in a new way
Galaxy sings a song of peace
And you mentally take me there
Words fall like candy confetti
Stars shine in your heavenly hair
We are one in spiritual bliss
There is a symphony of harmony
There is a unique mind kiss
As you teleport your love to me
I am ready to emerald explore
Wherever we may travel to
For love is a planet I adore
A pleasure to explore with you
“The moon.”
Is no longer a single mass.
In this never ending orbit.
If I looked at the time.
It would be midnight on earth.
Here, time is slow and heavy.
Moons laughing.
So we become a part of the cycle.
Tilting, unsettling.
Gravity within gravity.
A large planet.
I wish I could settle on some bench.
But no human things abound here.
So I am simply like an ant that got caught up in a wave.
Saturn’s rings.
You learn to stand and skate.
On a burning skating rink.
And pretend everything is normal.
But even the moons are trapped.
Gravity is stronger here.
Everything is stronger here.
Except my feet.
Which burn on Saturn’s rings.
Come! We'll fall into Saturn's ice arms
We'll skate on her rings as moons arise
On my toes, I'll spin woes into charms
see amethyst form storm's sultry skies
Smile at lightning's attempted disguise.
We'll skate together and then alone
leaving imprints, as settlers perhaps
Marking a path for others to own
among icey confines, Nature's lapse
finding wonder, unable to grasp
Skating back and forth on Saturn's rings,
you stop to stir stardust into night
Enchanted moments we hope to bring
in dreams, perhaps. or by candlelight
songs of the Muses, in frigid flight
Wayward clouds, silken-spun, drift away
They waltzed in tunes from a spilling crest
Dawn's faint hues entice night into day
I gather stars and place in your vest
Sadly, we leave, for we were but guests
Found my space to roller skate
Like I did when I was eight ...
Round, round and round the rink
Flashing lights of blue and pink
High above such trivial things
Skating the track of Saturn's rings,
Go, go, they can't catch me now
Once you learn, you never forget how
The music flows from far, far away
Down on Earth where records play,
The stars, they pulsate to the beat
And correspond down to my feet
Bubblegum pop and all the feels
Purple shoelaces and rubber wheels,
Rock my world, let me go back
To neon lights and skies of black
Feelin' like that long lost kid ...
Feelin' things no grownup did ...
Right foot, left foot, I got the pattern
Skating upon the rings of Saturn.
Skating upon Saturn's rings, on the outskirts of gold,
executing my double axel, in the brisk, season of cold.
The sole sound is of ice skates, spraying bits behind;
In rich, purple dusk, of the chaotic universe entwined.
A wide-eyed dreamer, in the red heartbeat of fantasy,
does slow twirls and excited spins, jumping uncannily!
Skating on concentric rings-the adventure of her life,
Stars shining all together, a hundred moons in the sky.
This rink ranks right up there.
My power skates, slice each ring,
the scent of ice assails my nose.
Funny in the absence of air, I breathe.
It must be a dream. I don’t care.
The wind of Saturn blows through my hair.
No wind, you say, but I will believe
what this dream gifts to me. Can’t believe
I’ve made it this far. It’s not Mars -
tired of the heat and the bars.
Brightly lit, I see a disco ball in the mist.
I am young again. Giddy boys showing off.
I’m twirling like a pro until I fall
softly onto my fairytale bed,
the one twenty mattresses tall.
I woke up a bit bruised. Saturn
on Saturday night, had no idea,
a princess performed on her rings.
This rink ranks right up there.
We begin with the history of what life can bring
My history began with skating upon Saturn Ring
It was such an enjoyable and difficult defeat
I skate and dance while drifting on my feet
I then felt the intensity of this icy planet
My leg began to swerve, and I lost my stamina
As I began to fall thinking, this is insanity
No more questions. I began to use profanity
Skating on the Rings of Saturn was such an enjoyment
I begin to wake up out of my dream with excitement
Skating upon Saturn's rings
what a great human being you are
I feel like I am flying
I feel so good i feel like crying
Look at how these rings shine
My oh My what a time to be alive
As i am skating around these rings
You catch up to me and pull me closely in.
As Saturn begins to glisten
And as the fragments began to ice
I say to myself what a beautiful sight
As i gaze into the sky
It looks like pieces of glitter floating by
Skating upon Saturn's rings
is where the magic happens
You get lost inside another world away from all the madnesses.
Saturn's rings mystify me indeed-
all seem bound with no purpose or need.
Spinning boulders and ice-
pictures of them add spice.
In the end, where will good answers lead?
But, last night I woke up from strange dreams;
found I landed by way of moonbeams!
To my greatest surprise
right in front of my eyes-
Large space monsters fast led to my screams!
The group traveled on magical skates
fixed beneath monster dumpsters with grates-
which then opened to spread
the trapped boulders instead
of them roaming around with bad fates.
They sprawled tons of old space-filled debris,
and I gathered from what I could see,
kept those rings plumped up well;
captured for a long spell
eased collisions in our Galaxy!
Now, I know that these facts aren't true
cause that's not how those circles accrue!
Magnetism makes rings
space debris to them clings!
So, this theme earned my fun poet's view!
A world so far yet so close
A sea of sand that shall always slide trough your hands
With the grip of a new born you learned to let go
Things are unchanged and unaltered
Your ancestors pain is yours
Their love, their dreams is your existence
And just like you they learned to let go
The light that reached the corner of their eyes
The light that showed them everything they needed to see
Is the light that shall bathe you and purify you
I wish to see myself again and again
And make the hardest of choices.
Rings of Saturn
glowing light from three years away;
Rings of Saturn,
they dance for every Capricorn;
Built tough for a wintery day,
grit a daunting cosmic display;
Rings of Saturn.
Swinging watch of a hypnotist
Look into my eyes
You’re falling into a deep deep sleep
Forget who you are
In a red tie
I duck out my work backdoor
Stop
Stare
To a baby robin
Sways upside down back and forth
Suspended before my face
In the breeze of a luscious June afternoon
Chirps madly for rescue by its mother
Leg strung to its nest
By a wiry line meant for fishing
First flight
Plenty of blame to this tragedy
I guess you could even tsk tsk the mother
Who thread her nest with grass, twigs and hair
But also plastic and string
Scrapped to our parking lot below
I cut the fledgling down with scissors
Takes two hands
To hold its ruffled orange and brown body
He cries
His mother screeches from a perch near by
This leg is broke and nearly sawed in two
I snip the wound line from the worn slice of its leg
Creature flops
Its wings won’t extend
What to do
A shadow joins me and says over my shoulder
“Ah, nature.”
And walks away
But I stay
Remain in trance
Quietly weep with the choir
For the Earth we have re-birthed from Saturn and fire.
Skating
‘round the rings of
Saturn, my Triple Lutz
lands in my dreams. Mighty Mimas
looks and beams, but nearby Enceladus
screams when Pan drives the Zamboni,
right over poor Methone.
Complicating
Skating.
