The Pursuit of Peace

I'm hurting, I'm wounded –
looking for an escape.
This life’s become unbearable –
there's nowhere I feel safe.

If only there was something –
(that) could take away my pain.
I searched for any remedy –
(that might) make me want to stay.

I drink on any antidote –
I'd stitch me up myself.
I'd literally do anything –
to find something that helps.

But I don't have the tools –
nor do I have some type of potion.
The ways, they come and go –
I'm overwhelmed with my emotions.

So, if I were to find something –
that might make me feel sane;
something to bring me peace –
and calm the noise inside my brain.

I'd probably believe it first –
that it were just a dream.
I don't think that I would believe –
that it were what it seemed.

I'd likely think it were a hoax –
just lies coded with glitter.
Not all that glitters is real gold –
so what makes this thing differ?

Don't get me wrong, I'd try it –
I’d risk it all for new found hope.
If there were just the slightest help –
I do anything to cope.

I’ve found an all new low –
is it just me, or am I dying?
I'm running out of options –
so tell me: what else is worth trying?

Slowly yet
As fast as I can
Run or stay

Premium Member Never Assume They have Run Away

They said she ran away
she was murdered by her husband
no one knew that
until they died

They said he ran away
He was captured and tortured
His remains were never found
he ran nowhere

They thought the family ran away
I do not know what happened to them
but if they could return
I know they would

Premium Member Run Away together

Run away together
I’m waiting like you said at midnight in the forest by the tree
with a dear gift that will please you
You didn’t have to say when I thought of you
Your dreams desire you ever wanted
My mother’s coins she stole from you thirty-five years ago
Living in grandeur and it never ends the witch
Clever and cunning she was never saw me coming
While you bring me the freshest of flowers
With a fragrance I could smell from afar
Well leave together in the carriage you ride
Together faraway may we travel to a new life which never ends

the run away sailor

out in the middle of the Atlantic a barn waste land of no life.
quite and peaceful a good place to hide.
sit in your boat and follow the way of the tide.
leave it all behind back on land,
leave it there and it all stops at the sand.
but you know.
it sits in your heart and cries no matter where you go.
the further you separate from them the more its roars.
you can try and hide the screams of your soul out past the shores.
what do you hope to find?
you are sailing your boat out on the sea but where is your mind.
at night you stare at the stars in the sky, it brings you back to looking in her eyes.
in the middle of the sea alone where no one can hear your cries.
still followed by the burden of what you lost.
what sea is next to be crossed?

Run Away

He sneaks into the yard.
Being outside isn’t that hard.
Until the lawn mower revs up.
And the sound of a dog starts to erupt.
He decides maybe home is better.
He’ll even put on his sweater.
But he finds he has wandered too far.
He’s afraid of being hit by a car.
He runs to the closest house.
Out comes a lady in a blouse.
She gives him some food.
Which eases his mood.
He decides not to worry about finding his way back.
He’d rather enjoy his snack.
Until his mom knocks at the door.
Only to hear him snore.
Feeling betrayed by her own cat.
She takes him home and that is that.

Premium Member I Did Not Want To Abandon You

I did not want to walk away
I did not want to leave you
On the contrary, I wanted to hug you
Before leaving.

I did not want to flee from you
I did not want to abandon you
Even though you pushed me away
Before leaving.

I wanted to be with you until the end of spring
I wanted to sleep with you, even though I was starving
Before leaving.

I wanted to pray, admire your big eyes
And kiss your gorgeous smiles
Before leaving.

Premium Member Should I Run Away or Play Good and Dead

I spied long cat claw marks on the jungle tree
a spotted leopard or a plain puma in ebony?
I held my breath instantly, afraid to breathe.
Then heard a cough beside my sleeve.
Should I run away or play good and dead?
There was a hot breath on my arm, so I ran, said Fred.

Run Away

I regret not cleaning my room sooner.
When my mom vacuums,
She cleans around the mess.
And the mess climbs.
This house is a maze.
A maze to my room.
We all have rooms.
I should take pride in my room.
But instead I regret…
Not cleaning sooner…
Until it just became easier…
To pack up and leave.

Premium Member My Muse Has Run away

I would like to write a poem,
but my muse has run away
with the four brothers.

She is singing with them now
in a greasy all-night diner
farther down the Carefree Highway.

Run Away

I want to run away
To a place where I belong
The tinsel town and dazzling lights
Have left my heart forlorn.

Like maggot that feed upon the flesh
They have fed upon my soul
Left none to waste
They carved out my woe-begotten dole

They chase me in my car
The paparazzi and media
I know not why I chose to be
This well sought out diva

I have a bed of gold
And food fit for a king
But I cannot sleep a wink
Or eat a single thing

The child in my heart
Painfully craves to be set free
Dark shadows now enclosing
The price was paid by me

The Run Away Cauldron

Long ago before the High Fae before man, there was a Cauldron
They say all the magic was contained inside it since the world began
One day it fell in the wrong hands and great horrible things were done to it
Many an object was forged but eventually it ran away heading for the hills
It could not be destroyed, for it was made of many things, including steel

Late at night behind the mountains in the deep thick forest
the village people heard banging, clanging, and smacking
but when the morning arrived, all was quiet once again
Then one day a brave little boy went into the forest to see
The cauldron sensing the boy near stopped the thwacking right away

"Jiminy Cricket" what do we have here" cried the boy
Cauldron spewed red lava from its top, then sirened like a cop
"not so loud" whined Jeremiah, just hold still and I will help you
then he scraped and he slashed and he pulled all night
until the cauldron was bare, beneath the moonlight

Long ago before the dark witches of Chenwick village chanted in bold
their was a lovely Cauldron that refused to do evil, or so I was told.

Reason Why I Run Away

I promise my heart the best.
That's why I have chosen it over everything.

I have chosen my only heart among billions heart.
That's why I have chosen not to follow anyone heart.

The day you joined my world,
You promised my heart angle treatment.

Along the way,
You changed like weather.
You became camelion

You started treating my heart as slave.
That's why I decided to pull out myself from the oarth we have made.
As our destination wasn't look like.

Even I made a promise with you,
I decided to broke it.
I decided to keep the one I made with my heart.
Because my heart come first.

Lets Run Away For a Day

Let’s run away for a day
If for nothing else than
To talk and to find out
Just where we stand

Nothing held back
For hours on end
Let’s run away for a day
Let’s make it our plan

Let’s run away for a day
So we can hug and hold too
Discuss what our souls want
Their undying truths

Let’s run away for a day
I’ll look deep in your eyes
For a day I can feel
That your smile is all mine

Let’s run away for the day
We can do as you wish
Let our fire burn hot
Or take turns and give

We can watch one another
We can tease or pretend
Let’s run away for a day
Just let me know when

We’ve held to these feelings
Though we’ve gone separate ways
Forever starts somewhere
Let’s run away for a day

Premium Member The Run Away Cat

Carol’s naps are plenty with a puppy on her hip.
He’s romping fields, she is captain of a pirate ship.
Cat is curled up next to Carol’s swollen up top lip.
Deathly allergic, her eyes open with a whip.

Sorry apologizes new neighbor, his voice is a clip.
It is his wandering cat; he can’t yet make the pick-up trip.
She pops renegade cat into sleeping bag, gives it a zip.
Tells it as they travel, “Your daddy is a drip!”

Sarge thanks her profusely, her heart does a little flip.
He is handsome and sweet; his child is a boy named Pip.
She chastises love at first sight and tries to get a grip.
He invites her to dinner, serves her pie with cool whip.

She takes an allergy pill now, without having a fit.
In case he calls to invite her out, dreams of muscle rip.
Man, boy and cat moved on, now a radar blip.
She stares at allergy pills, now an unwelcome gyp.
