Charcoal face

To win her whole heart was my sole goal,
In summer, I tanned just for her soul.
I sunbathed at Lagos Beach,
A Black there to woo a peach,
My face is now blacker than charcoal.

When Love Leaves Home

Once upon a time on the sands she thought she found true love
then one day he went his way what was she dreaming of
now she walks the shoreline alone along the low water mark
searching for seashells on her own from sunrise until dark
at the end of the tunnel there's always a light
a ray of hope in the darkest night
every black cloud has a silver lining
it's in there somewhere bright and shining
one day at the beach she met a man later they were lovers
strange to say he moved away left her for another
now she strolls the shoreline alone all along the high tide mark
searching for seashells on her own from sunup until dark
and when love leaves home what's there to do
surrender to sadness and sing the blues
when love leaves home what's to be done
but live with the madness 'til the pain is gone

Premium MemberUnbelievable

A dream of you and me
A beach house by the sea
A stroll along the shore
Knowing we want more

But this gets better yet
Wait until sunset
Stars and Venus rise
Desire's in our eyes

It's still a little soon
Not before the moon
And then a night of bliss
Commencing with The Kiss

A waiting music stand
A blanket on the sand
A chair with one guitar
Four hands, I help you barre

Before long unrestrained
Passion uncontained
The song we make and play
Carries us away

The heights that we achieve
Are heights none could believe
And when all's said and done
We toast the rising sun

Premium Membercarmel morning

carmel morning

was it morning
or the touch of your skin against mine
that reminded me of yesterday
in carmel

sidewalk cafés and coffee clouds
sounds of daylight peeling back last night’s sunset
packing it away in the side pocket
of a brown leather case

we lay in bed
swallowing laughter like cinnamon rolls
devoured and left sticky on our fingers
conquered by the incinerating heat of passion

your skin always amazed me
the way you wore it, even in morning
when i traced it with eager fingertips
like drawing clouds and sea bound fog

that magic was neither morning
nor was it carmel
enchanting is you, how you moved
when you thought i was not watching

but my eyes always undressed you
in carmel or san francisco
and when the winds swirled around you
i fed you chocolate

cotton-thin clouds were never ours to hold or keep
oh, but we loved them
and when laughter was to be found
our clouds were there

now i wonder, was it morning
or the touch of your skin against mine
that caused me to think about yesterday
and the feather-like touch of clouds we never owned

Premium MemberThe Last Puzzle Piece

Beach
blanket
on the shore,
you can smell 'em
miles off the water.
Coated in peanut oil,
the very last puzzle piece.
Roses mingle with that gift box
inside of a heart drawn in the sand.
A pile of ribbons, bows, and curly fries.

I love you little Bluebird
Here's bidding you sleep tight
I'll dream about your pretty face
Until the morning light
And when I wake I'll dream some more
Sweet dreams all through the day
Some whisk you off to Paris
Some where at home we stay
Some place us in a postcard on
Some mountain or some beach
With total peace and quiet...
Somewhere out of reach

Premium MemberHidden Beach

Find my hand dreaming in this blaze of consolidation
Lighten your lift from out our tell-tale indentation
Brush off the beach in trickles that echoes still our play
above where my knees have offered themselves to pray

Under swaying shadows rustle out breezes cast from azure pools
Where white peaks slip into sprays spilling seas mirrored in jewels
Find sun drenched lips longing to be lapped free of the saline mist
Press them gently, offer what's left to us, your best Girl Friday kiss

Feel the naked surf pound, then tempt, crash back into zestful shove
Rush with me to join in being swept out, carried away, leapt above
Glow in emulation for this day that throws you around as your guide
Dive to where sand dollars hide their riches to find me deep inside

Premium MemberWill you marry me

Sue's
surprise
birthday treat.
A romantic
picnic on the beach
with roses and champagne.
Bill kneels down, and proposes
then produces a diamond ring
Will she marry him ... what do you think?

Peter in the summer morning sun
his cool smile shaded by shadows run
his voice as soothing as coffee’s scent
tell me he wasn’t heaven sent

Peter of Malibu moss and Spanish rose
his lips like light-coral, in kissable repose
his legs slouched akimbo, like a tiger’s limbs
how I long to re-entangle myself in them.

Peter’s quick caress, on windy Tropez beaches
aren’t men the most delightful, of nature's invasive species?
I miss the jeweler’s precision, of his warm and playful hands
and how the sun slowly gifted him, with a model’s golden tan.

Peter sipping coffee under a brittle, New Haven sun,
his rough laugh following something silly I’d done.
There’s no cryptic, localized pathology, happening at the beach,
when the two of us are together, our worlds just seem complete.

Premium MemberNot Trilogy: Not Here

Cold, cold morning
Dawn's first light
Lots of different dreams of you
Experienced I last night
Some were sweet, romantic
Long walks on a beach
And some were pretty frantic
Of those I cannot speak

Premium MemberDreamescape

You're on my mind and in my heart
Together there we'll never part
In dreams we fly to distant lands
Brilliant sunsets, holding hands
Loving 'til the break of dawn
Sleeping in, writing songs
Making sure your coffee's hot
Arise at noon...or maybe not
Lazy days, nowhere to be
At any time, except with me
A beach umbrella by the sea
Drunken goat, aged gouda, brie

Look up, a plane is passing by
It's writing something in the sky
Two names connected, one pen stroke
Or in this case unbroken smoke
Now it's changing from a word
And forming into a bluebird
She's holding something in her claw
It looks like its a red guitar
She's soaring, gliding, how she sings
To music playing from the strings
Hold me always in your wings
And I will tell you pretty things

Premium MemberShe Decided to Make Him the Rest of Her Life

He made her feel like a princess, a bride, an angel, a queen.
She had never had a love like this before.
Others did not understand, because of the age thing.
She did not see his age above his kindnesses and his love.

Whether they had five years together or five days
She decided to make him the “rest of her life”.
Their romance was a whirlwind of respect and fun.
When it was over, she could not let him go.

She carried his urn to all of their old haunts.
The carnival, the video arcade, the beach.
Every place was full of memories.
She would never forget him; he had raised her awarenesses.
She had never felt more witty, more exciting or more loved.

Premium MemberSweet Dreams

All my dreams of you are sweet
When missing you I press repeat
And once again we're in the park
Or sharing kisses in the dark
Silhouettes cast in moonlight
Love and passion, out of sight
Or on the beach taking a swim
Down in the Caribbean
Or holding hands out for a walk
While toasting Paris as we talk
Or playing music up on stage
Adoring fans fully engaged
I dream about you night and day
Asleep, awake, in every way
Most are vivid, some are not
Either way they hit the spot
The place I have inside my heart
That longs for you when we're apart

Premium MemberSmiley Face

When there's a smile on my face
It means you're on my mind
I think about you often
Almost all the time
And when I don't the reason is
As simple as this seems...
I fell asleep and waking thoughts
Have shifted into dreams

Dreams where you and I are now
In France, or on a beach,
Or sitting by a fireplace
In a cabin out of reach
Together watching snowflakes fall
With music soft and low
The nearest other person
Is on the radio

A fiery, pastel sunset
A song by Sarah J.
One guitar played with four hands
Let's try that out one day
For all these thoughts and dreams I have
Come when I think of you
There's no one else who makes me smile
Quite the way you do

Rain

As i breathe the scent of rain,

I let go a sigh of my pain,

Droplets creating a melody,

Enclosed in nature’s remedy,

Soothing my skin is cold breeze,

Elated nature is a tease,

This moment sky is feeling blue and grey,

Delightful are the soul’s astray,

Love seeks warm embrace,

Sorrow leans to find grace,

Hidden mist in surrounding,

Oh! That’s a mystery astonishing,

Hope peeping through the end,

Oh rain, you made the dawn rise again.
