Restless Heart Poems | Examples

Restless Heart

The heart is not big
Don't put everything in it
The good is hidden in the heart
The bad is thrown away in time.

The heart is sensitive
Don't put too much emotional baggage
It will burst anytime in a way unnotice
Caught unaware the hurt.

Restless Heart

" My love grows inherently restless in your absence, where many are the days that try to reconcile from the torn pages of time, a broken heart condemned to endure the fire of every age, leaving nothing more than the ash of an unfulfilled life, that goes without what it desperately needs, to just feel wanted. "

Alfredo Gonzales

To Soothe a Restless Heart

A troubled morning found me woke
And to a restless heart it spoke
But not in words, yet other ways
This notion to me it conveys

The greeting of the Cypress trees
That whisper on the dawning breeze
They say, get up, the day is new
                         Discover what’s ahead for you

The Cardinals are in splendid tune
As I imbibe a morning moon
The Blue Jay beckons me to dance
Perhaps a day filled with romance

And with the sun, a golden kiss
                        Such happiness I can’t dismiss
A butterfly to tag-along
                   Enhances this good morning song

Delighted by a Daffodil
                            No more, a melancholy chill
With Honeysuckle everywhere
It could not bide, it would not dare

In my dim-lit realm of sleep are my dreams
where I paint her face with my long yearning
then languish in shades dark with silent screams
until my eyes leave trails of tears burning

...A Final Goodbye...

Oh Restless Heart

Fly away, oh restless heart
                   seek thy rainbow’s end
Leave me to my reverie
                         spirit now to mend

Find your way, my restless heart
                   winging toward the sky
May you reach a place of peace
              and know the reasons why

While I sojourn deep within
            walls meant to surround me
Venture forth and eye for me
             things that will astound me

Comfort me with tales of joy
              regale your mythic travels
Then fly home, oh restless heart
               before my sense unravels

Restless Heart

Near heart,
away from the heart,
Some pain,
some relaxed.

Our hearts and eyes ceaselessly wander
Stumbling blindly in fields of gold
We first see bright gilded brass
Our eyes lock on, transfixed…
Never simple truth
As clear as day
Alas! the

Restless Heart

Restless Heart.

Moonless night is peace
Full moon and my poor heart aches
For the impossible
Let it be said with swiftness
I’m incurable romantic
When the moon hides
Behind clouds of indifference
Her absence hurts
But I will deny utterly
That I care about romance.
 What I hate to see
Is an anemic moon at noon
Tells me off failures
I should have said I love you
But in a bar a girl smiled.

Restless Heart

A river may babble
The wind may sigh
A cloud may rumble
Are they any more at peace than I?

Oceans may swell
Volcanoes erupt
And a dam can burst
Do their hearts stop as abrupt?

Tornadoes may destroy
Lightning strikes from the sky
And an earthquake can ruin all:
Do they hurt any more than I?

Restless Heart

a restless heart
you are on my mind
and yet once again
I sleep alone tonight
where are you?
are you missing me?
or do you not ever
even think of me
miles and miles apart
several time zones away
is it just geographical
or are you feeling it too
I’m here sleepwalking
through each and every day
my thoughts always on you
while these questions still remain
