Premium MemberStill Night

"The snow did not even whisper its way to earth, but seemed to salt the night with silence" - Dean Koontz.

Still as the winter’s night, mourning
When will we heed His soft warning?
Snow dreams, believes, sometimes a sign,
This is the still who makes souls shine.

Gentle flakes, silently falling,
At times, winter’s breath comes calling,
Warming hearts and souls, so divine,
This is the still who makes souls shine.

Whispering to the spirit, winds
Risking moments as night rescinds
Wind rebels, and stutters a whine,
This is the still who makes souls shine.

Snow blesses those who love winter,
Wonder afore life’s midwinter,
Song of love, falling on the pine,
This is the still who makes souls shine.

Premium MemberPrayer

Mighty flames consume every question, each fear,
Clinging to the heart and soul with breathless grace,
Falling among the stars to erase each tear,
Endless light, stirring dark night’s gentle embrace.

Inspirations bleed through the soft, soundless winds,
Love like never before, darkness soon rescinds,
Healing and blessing, remembering to share,
Doubts relaxed by the spirit lost in prayer.

Premium MemberRambling

When time echoes the promise of a rambling soul, one who knows that the past never can be left, because it is there that solace leaves its caress, its breath ever rising in the presence of sorrow’s tangled web ~ quote by poet

She waits in silence, for the gentle winds,
Soft revelations of what might have been,
She remembers with feelings she rescinds.

She reflects on lost nights that did begin,
Soundless and still, like the sea of belief,
Soft revelations of what might have been,

Sometimes it feels she’s been left in her grief,
Sure to learn of what comes from night’s lonely,
Soundless and still, like the sea of belief,

Should she call friends or her one and only?
Soon, she recalls her beloved has passed,
Sure to learn of what comes from night’s lonely.

Swiftly, time reveals rambling that will last,
Sharing memoirs, she drifts from room to room,
Soon, she recalls her beloved has passed,

Sensitive, like dreams, her heart is all gloom,
She waits in silence, for the gentle winds,
Sharing memoirs, she drifts from room to room,
She remembers with feelings she rescinds.

Premium MemberHope

Surging storm swarms in the shattered sky
Traces the tormenting terror in the frantic air
The whispering wind of joy knows not why
It should face the ruthless turbulence of despair.

Afflicting anger flares up in the spiteful mind
Smolders the sullen life to form extant ember
The anguished ashes fly away, failing to find
solace of hope, the heart doesn’t remember.

Harrowing haze clutches the hidden horizon
Spreads the shroud of gloom in the atmosphere
Cotton clouds drift away from veiled sun’s apron
Hoping from the darkness a bright day will appear.

Seething sorrow simmers in the marooned mind
Permeates pain in heart plunged deep in misery
Divine touch illumines the soul, agony rescinds
Sedate hope weaves bliss in blessed life’s tapestry.

Colourful

Colourful are the days spring brings,
 Butterflies spread their colourful wings,
Birds happily sing,
Newness takes flight.

Colours are on display,
Naked and frail boughs bloom,
Hope, joy and beauty pervade every room,
They in turn replay.

There's an awakening,
There’s a soul-lifting brightening,
Gloom rescinds,
Light succeeds.

Flowers showcase their loveliness,
We are captivated by their tenderness,
Colourful are spring days,
A harbinger of new ways.

Premium MemberThe Blue Ridge Queen

Queen Caroline hails one request
that excellence must have no bounds,
each dress displayed, shall manifest
as brilliant Blue Ridge Mountain gowns.

Her summer dress, a sunlight's kiss
as breezes play the season’s song,
such glory thrives in temperate bliss,
as mountain spirits sing along.

Her autumn frock adorns her frame
as elements of grace unfold,
her maple dress bears leaves aflame
as mountain ash dons vivid gold.

Her winter gown is dusted white,
its snowy veil conceals her face,
and all adorned for winter’s night,
her valleys sleep in silent grace.

Her spring apparel sprouts anew
as winter's wardrobe soon rescinds.
The brilliance shines in every hue
as mountains come to life again.

Her vibrant wardrobe stands supreme,
omnipotent in its design,
so fitting for a gracious Queen,
dear sweet, majestic Caroline.

Fields of Sleep

The winds come to me from the fields of sleep
Where dreams are blown out of the shallow hills
And I, in my solitude, do rejoice
As I take my comfort within their voice
Which visits me as the cool evening stills
And is rinsed by raindrops that mildly weep.

Gone is the rainbow and tincture of day
Lost in the clouds as they swim in the air
And I, in my quietness, drift afar
By merely the light of a silver'd star
Where only the souls of the sleeping dare
Seek a place that is distant - far away.

In the deepest of night, the dead of dark,
When the silent shadows hide from the light
For, shadows are secrets mellowed by age
And, ages are timeless, robbed of their rage,
And rage is bewildered, lost in the night
Yet, still sighs its echo deafingly stark.

Where is the morning to dazzle and glow ?
Where are the sunbeams to fever the heart ?
Yes! morning will come, as sure as the winds,
When the grey of the dusk slowly rescinds
And the fields of sleep will fleetly depart
And the dreams of the hills aimlessly go.

Awakening Call

Season of refreshing
The dead spring up alive
Their faces brighten up
Hope permeates the landscape
Beauty climbs to the top

Season of refreshing
The dying receive strength
There is a quantum leap
A brandish of colours
All expect a good reap

Season of refreshing
There’s an awakening call
An upsurge in fervour
Gloom rescinds and depletes
Pleasure meets endeavour

We Stand At a Loss

Loosened in winds,
how returns are always in vain ...
Something rescinds,
as if by a leaving train
we stand at a loss.
Nothing leads back across
our shattering world.
Also, the wall built around
our inviting ground
now breathes the pain.

Their Overdue Kind

Trying to find
sweeter emotions
healing words
loving thoughts
warm devotions
but
caught up in
a twisted world
of darkness
they rush away
with wintry winds
they laugh
they mock
my heart rescinds.

Their return
eventual
their return
inevitable
assured
so I yearn
for their impressions
to reflect in the
lake of my being
mirrors for
introspection
deliverance
their freeing.

Until then I will
contemplate
sit in silent wonder
strike a pose
of stillness
of solitude
and wander the
corners of my
mind
preparing
for their overdue
kind.

Nature

A bird sings a song
A man reflecting on what went wrong
A leaf is cradled in the wind
While another is under a shoe, snugly pinned.

The owl hoots
A hunter shoots
The wind lightly whispers
Two hikers differ

The fervent winds
The clerk rescinds
The curious deer
Darkness comes along with fear

The ocean's tide
Let's go for a drive
A Seagull flies
A sunny day, the bluest of skies

A wave crashes to the shore
A man on a balcony closes a door
A child plays in the sand
His mother grabs him by the hand

The sun heats the sand
A girl on a blanket getting tanned

A Seasonal Change

Leaves were green dresses in Spring; now wrinkled with age
Yellowed as an old love poem written on a parchment page
Stripped from tree limbs by Autumn's vibrant flowing winds
Chilled air is part of seasonal changes that Nature rescinds

It's sweater weather for long walks on the cool days of Fall
Southbound birds fly overhead. I hear their migratory call
Into the woods I wandered; dampened by a sprinkle of rain
Remnants of fallen leaves line the paths on shores of Maine

It's time to build a camp fire, as light of day begins to fade
I trek back across a small stream, shallow enough to wade
with treasures of an owl's feather, and a scarlet maple leaf
The last ray of sun casts a golden glow on the woods' motif

Premium MemberBrisk Cold Winds of October

The threshing floor divides the brisk cold winds
and too gentle zephyr of mortality.
I choose the rose-red blush where death rescinds.

My mind reels with the thrill of whiteout blinds
buffeted by green field sentimentality.
The threshing floor divides the brisk cold winds.

Exciting the throng, leather football winds.
Gruff padded players gift us vitality.
I choose the rose-red blush where death rescinds.

To feel so alive in sweaters, not thinned,
bouncing along in haywagon of normality.
The threshing floor divides the brisk cold winds.

Pumpkin and apple pies, corn, all else tinned.
Harvest festivals of cordiality.
I choose the rose-red blush where death rescinds.

A scarecrow field stays put in our minds
filled with Halloween unreality.
The threshing floor divides the brisk cold winds
I choose the rose-red blush where death rescinds.

Premium MemberWrapped In Your Words

I hear your tender words of love
      that echo in the winds,
and float on wings of turtle dove
         as loneliness rescinds.

Your words so gently hold my heart
      wrapped in a warm embrace,
and visions that your thoughts impart
         will make my heartbeat race.

But words are tempting heart’s desire;
      my passions growing strong;
please share with me, as needs require,
the love for which I long.

Please hold me like you mean it now,
      for words do not have arms;
please show the things words don’t allow,
and share with me your charms.
