Wrapped In Your Words

I hear your tender words of love
      that echo in the winds,
   and float on wings of turtle dove
         as loneliness rescinds.

Your words so gently hold my heart
      wrapped in a warm embrace,
   and visions that your thoughts impart
         will make my heartbeat race.

But words are tempting heart’s desire;
      my passions growing strong;
   please share with me, as needs require,
         the love for which I long.

Please hold me like you mean it now,
      for words do not have arms;
   please show the things words don’t allow,
         and share with me your charms.

Lately, words seem to wrap around my heart in such a wonderful way. I am feeling your thoughts so deeply, as I caress so many tender moments I wanted to read this again my dear friend. "Please hold me like you mean it" Oh my ! Of course. I would like to add: "And never let go". Being wrapped in words is breathtaking indeed. :) Hugs, Brandy

Hi John, I like your take on the contest theme. And that last stanza sums up the " theme" perfectly. It found it to romantic as well. Good content and rhymes. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Have a great day:-) Alexis

Perhaps you are right "words do not have arms" However, each word is deeply felt. Wrapping tightly around the being, sweeping gently across the heart. This I know to be true. Your thoughts are beautiful, romantic and tender. They hold me. I shall place this in my favorites. :) Brandy

True, it is important to know that someone cares enough to whisper the sweet nothings to you. J

Knowing that someone cares enough to write them. It helps the longing that lingers in the heart, that sweet ache. Even if just a little bit. ~ Brandy

Thank you for the fav, B, and as always I appreciate hearing your thoughts. It is true that the words will be felt so deeply as they wrap tenderly around the heart yet at the same time they will never ease that sweet ache that one feels, that longing. I am pleased that my thoughts hold you so tenderly. Hugs, John

Such longing should never be denied. "Please hold me like you mean it now, for words do not have arms;" That is so expressive, John, and mere words are never enough without the physical touch.
