He left footsteps
On maroon heart
Pickled my breath
Left me teal tart
A shadow of self
Onyx eyes now dark
Casting my cares
Left stoic torn apart
Let me wallow in my pain
I avoid sun and embrace rain
For without one the other is vain
This too shall pass but I remain
Stuck in a lesson learned too well
Burned in my brain like fire from hell
Give me some time I’m sure to unpack
Reorganize my mind get my groove back

We’re off to New Haven - hurry, hurry -
we’re jammin, crammin, slappin`
and slammin` everything into our bags.
“Fifteen minutes to take-off,”
Michael announced, “the chopper’s waiting.”
with hugs all around we separated.
Our roommates too, are all catching flights
vectoring in from various sites -
our motley group will reassemble tonight.
Pew rated Yale one of the hardest universities
to get into in '23 - so is it really a certainty
that our cardkeys will let us into our residency?
Fall grades came out yesterday - Lisa and I are all grins
- we’ll have thirteen days to visit and settle in
and reorganize things before Spring semester begins.
I hope that your vacations were as fun as ours
but the New Year’s begun and in a matter of hours
we’ll resume the school grind, our holidays devoured.
.
.
NOTE: Michael was just hurrying us along, it takes ~30 minutes, in Manhattan, to go from Central Park South to the TSS Heliport - but it’s not like they’ll leave without us.

Four skeletons and an umbrella she sang with an “oh ho!”
She sang it high and she sang it low.
She sang it wherever we decided to go.
Four skeletons and an umbrella, they are happy and gay.
She sang it loudly almost every October day.
We rolled our eyes, not understanding her way.
Four skeletons and an umbrella, she said.
I will reorganize them daily, until I am dead.
We laughed at her silliness, our cousin Miss Fred.
Four skeletons and an umbrella is what we found in her yard.
The day she slipped away with her friend, an old singing bard.
They went to Spain, which was not my petard.

the curious dream
toward darkness when the sun
breaks down
do I dream of civility and rules
or does my brain reorganize
the life fantastic validations of
chaos theory
and twisted monsters giving
life
to that which never was alive
and I wake up one more day
restrained and trained in
connections and composure
until
I break down one last time
one more victim of universal
entropy a piece of dust
that dies
with the cindered cooling stars
but far before their time
and far before my time
I am still light years away
from understanding

The nights are the worst,
as relentless tiring boredom sets in.
The days aren’t much better
the drudgery of dishes, cleaning the fridge
for the third time today.
I almost bathed the dog
but that seemed like taking things a bit too far.
There are corners to clean
and closets to reorganize one more time.
In the world that was before
time didn’t seem so endless, so dragged out.
The hours seemed like minutes.
Nothing has changed except my perspective.
The lack of human touch
leaves my essence in low speed, un-recharged.
Kisses sent through cyber-space
can’t replace the moisture of your kiss upon my face.

Think, plan, scheme, devise
Write, read, review, revise
Sit, wait, reread, reflect,
Insert, delete, keep, reject
Rethink, rewrite, reorganize
Snip, cut, paste, prioritize
A poem's a process of many a step
From that very first 'No' to that final 'Yep!'

A Fierce Clarity
Conundrums of doubt
dumb, dumb, dumb
downers with an excuse
to gulp the pill
wash down chemical
sweetener for the bitter palate of sugar
Grains of possession
miserable addicts of this technological freedom
bar-code a ticket to emancipation
cold blooded despots
placed in a box
vox-populi every opinion
A jailed perception
sees barbed-wires of need
must constrain the revolutionaries
and by poverty know less of greed
not by choice is survival
the only creed
So let fake news be the measure of hypocrisy
secret conundrum of dumb, dumb, dumb
the measure of stupidity
and by confused design
reorganize reality
devoid of God inside the response
Divine by any other word
yet in greatest torment
the devil works
creation beyond is on the far side of thoughts
beyond the created
and the ego of ants
to flesh delivers the arrogance
of governments.

When the lies, the violence and the hate
get to be too much
I am lost, come to the party far too late
and truth and reality lay in a deceitful hush.
Tell me a truth, a reality
of what the future still can be
while destruction is raised and existing free
ignoring and displacing me.
Too many lies, too many egocentric games
take in the poor, the rich and middle of humanity
and there is no escape, no reprieve or shame
of dictatorship, authoritarian right and left insanity.
Reorganize, rebuild, start over again
never going to happen
it's all pseudo promises and greed in sin
as the multitudes succumb and madden.
Seems to me no truth exists in governing
only self deluded democracy
where all stays hidden in plundering
and the shadows of hypocrisy.

Now I'm like a library
I always seek to learn
Always seek to know more
I threw my doubts
I reorganize my thoughts
I have faith and I do believe
That's why I move forward
I know everything in life and yet don't have a clue
Still there's alot to learn but hey , I'm still not running from pages

As men bring their broken marriage
To be reorganize to good
So i brought my broken dreams
To God, because he was my friend
But then instead of leaving him
In peace to work alone
I hung around and tried to
Help with the ways that were my own
at last i snatched them back and cried
"How can you be so slow"
"My child" he said "What could i do?
You never did let go"

Our ancestors started that what we call
today - our human race, around this blue globe,
sure enough we all are part of their great quest
to populate our precious planet earth,
Now along our way, we learned a thing or two
to pass along, what we all must do, to keep all
life stable, as well as efficient for our Freedom too,
live peacefully forward, onto our viable outcome,
We find ourselves at so many crossroads since,
ancestor’s quest for each of us to achieve, had started…
water, food for all, nutritious in nature, shelter, subsequently
medicine, protective clothing, per our orientations to begin working
Toward our global green efforts, joint service proficient management
of our environment, technology, transformation of energy,
reorganize Industry, Governments level of commitment successfully
so to transform a global peoples faith in humanity with health, vigor
“Thus our greatest race of all for humanity to survive together to achieve,
now our joint quest “

I’ve been told there are five steps of grieving
Each one I walk for miles
~~~~~1~~~~
Numbness is the first in the chain
And, shock is supposed to help ease the pain
You can pinch me, and I will not feel it
Number one is the pit I am in
~~~~~2~~~~~
Yearning and anger are around the corner
I do not see me in that state of being
Anger is something I do not feel
How can I be mad at someone who was not well?
~~~~~3~~~~~
Despair, sadness, and withdrawal
The thunderstorms move in
I am stuck in one and three
Somewhere, deep, deep in me
~~~~~4~~~~~
Now, I am supposed to let positive emotions begin
Reorganize, more enlightened, although grief can still set in
The tears will lessen, my well will dry
They will not see me cry
~~~~~5~~~~~
Letting go and moving on! Is the last phase, I am told
My interests will return, sadness will lessen, behold...
But, how will this happen?
When I have one and three, still on my back to burn.
Taxation, taxation
Where's the representation
Funds are culled, pooled, and drained
Promises abandoned
By the figures in office, on paper
Doing thing people elected
But never considered or voted
Let's form our own colony
Regulate or own affairs
Simply as responsible humans
No need for watchdog lair
Our interests are not monied
But to perpetuate quality
Reorganize the state
Until it serves our fate
