Recapitulate Poems | Examples

Part of the Herd

If I repeat a common thought
If I regurgitate a popular word
Or, if I remain quiet
Does it make me part of the herd?

The herd that thinks the same thoughts
They recapitulate the same words
Or, they remain quiet
A pot never gets stirred

I prefer to ask question
I don't want to believe, I want to know why
Yet every time I ask
I'm sarcastically met with a sigh

God gave me a brain
To think, love, and to grow
Where my thoughts end
I guess that's a place I don't even know?

You see life's full of uncertainties
Full of mysteries that go undefined
But remember, the moment you name it
The mystery becomes your story, not mine

So, I'll continue to seek
Holding tight to the truth that I know
But, when I learn otherwise
I have to have the resolve to let go

Or else, I'm holding on to emotion
Like a jeweler trying to sell fake gold
It may help in the moment
But ultimately, it cripples the soul

So, think a new thought
Question every single word
Never remain silent
Don't become part of the herd?

Premium MemberProcrastination

My problem is not peculiar to me
This propensity to procrastinate
So, come next year, if it is not too late,
I shall try very, very hard, you see,
From this habit to finally break free
Then again, I might recapitulate.

It is possible I may overcome
Putting the chores off until tomorrow,
From last week's odious troubles borrow
Today's work will always seem cumbersome,
Next week prob'ly won't be so troublesome,
Then, I will deal with the such sweet sorrow.

In any case, hope you will wish me luck
At this moment, I couldn't give a puck.

Bibliobibuli

I open my bleary eyes,
To the beautiful sheaf of sunlight.
Book lying beside me sighs!
And whooshing sound of papers rant, as they fly by.
Baby! Why you left me without saying good bye!

What do I tell you about my epeolatry?
With people around, I can’t witter for too long.
My lust for the books is just too strong!
Slowly, I scud away at the first chance.
And skulk into books, before anyone’s glance.

Contentment latches the door; the silence is profound.
Books, joy and peace all around.
My books leave me spellbound.
Redolence of papers and ink so sound,
It creeps in like ethanol into my mind.
Fragrance of musty papers takes my charge, as it surrounds.

Inside my self is a loquacious place.
Cogent and scrupulous, solving mysteries with authors pace.
Don’t you think that I am a dolt!
It is just that the story, slowly unfolds.

Yes! I feel deeply, I feel fiercely.
Yes! I emend, I recapitulate and iterate.
Yes! I do read and re read.
Yes! I am a book worm and this is my treat.

Forgetful Memories

A cold dark past
A Chill chilled Dawn
An empty vessel full of bitterness
A lonely heart that can't fill up!

Such Is Life, Is it?
So, what can be done ahead?
What is it really to be filled?
An empty space, a broken piece!

A great hollow spot! An empty gaze....
Don't wanna recall!
Don't wanna recapitulate!
Don't wanna recall all!

A forgetful past
A bitter one!
Memory gone
Memory lost!

How Much Love

He’s grasping my hand with his warm palm
Laying his head in my shoulder, his hair tickling my cheek
And I know
I am irrevocably in love
He’s laughing at himself, that wholesome laugh
And looking at me with amusement
And I am certain
I am irreversibly in love
He’s smiling at me with such fondness
It makes my heart throb, a steady desire
And I know
I am in love with him

He has changed all of me for the better
And sometimes it seems he’s too good to be true
Too perfect to be mine
So I enjoy every moment to its fullest
Recapitulate every encounter
And love him with all my heart
Because I am irrevocably, irreversibly in love with him

Life
Can
Be like
A merry
Go round with the ups
And downs that appear sometimes to
Introspect about actual existence, to make
The existential adjustments to recapitulate and dismiss for aye bootless

From the Ash Tree

Falling leaves of the ash tree
Burned to the ground
Behind you see
The embers found

Wind flows without directional need
Branches fallen lain to fritter
Spreading remains of the withered seed
Yore the scorch the earth un wither

Sprouting stem from far you flew
Careen a trail of destination
Giving birth to hope anew
Tree’s first breath of transpiration

Coppice recapitulate
Life perpetuate
