the sounds
of her thinking astounds
logic rebounds
argument confounds
rationale knows not bounds
there's no reasoning
with what she expounds
or justification
in that which she propounds
when all facts fail
and reality surrounds
her point of view
tho' it has zero grounds
piled on in mounds
with absurdity she compounds
adding injury to insult
my brain it impounds
traps me wraps me saps my energy

RATIONALE
A poem is one way to think out loud
Addressing all the thoughts in one’s own head
To share, responding to a willing crowd
A rhyming verse unlikely to be dead
The future’s bright, demanding ever more
And not accepting lazy words instead
The vein of words is rich and never poor
Analysis can sometimes halt the flow
The heart still beats, surviving all I’m sure
The pace to voice the words may just be slow
Yet resonance will last and maybe grow

arrives
the wise friend
and knocks on your
door of decisions
to present her

Compelled by indignation
At the sentiments I feel,
For one who’s hand as sacred
As heaven’s speech to ear,
Hate and lamentation
Dispel my every word,
For being such a victim
Of a love that is unheard,
To one of such humility
Unaccustomed to the game,
Of longing with desires
For what ought not be attained,
And fearful…very fearful
Of the bliss that shall ensue,
For all happiness must end
When the chapter will conclude,
That I am but a man
Who lives virtuous a life,
To bring her any anguish
Sets all ideals to strife.
