Premium Member The Mundane

the mundane

nerves all ajangle
stomach knots to untangle
that life once well known
is not playing well at home
builds many obtuse angles

dealing with mundane
each day turning out the same
no bomb exploding
weapons which we are loading
reflects life become too tame

too much day to day
preparedness goes astray
need to stay alert
so people do not get hurt
most serious game we play

much of the humdrum
turns nerves into taut snare drums
pounds out the feeling
rockets may some come squealing
pay attention or succumb

Premium Member Prepared For Possibilities

It pays to be prepared for possibilities
None of us know what the future brings
Some of us may face unwanted setbacks
Before the proverbial "fat lady sings."

Things we never could've imagined
Unforeseen illness, a sudden accident
Things happen that we least expect,
Things happen that seem never meant.

Preparation for the unexpected can soften
The hurtful impact of a knockout blow
And, if we have made contingency plans
We have a pre-planned direction to go.

Blazing Parody

An answered prayer for those opportunists,
Stealing valued objects on their lists!
To make money out of what’s left and danger,
The goal of every human-scavenger!
Fire shocked the town’s men,
They run on errands from here and then,
Evil counts from one to ten,
Oh, my! What a mortal sin!
Inferno devours most abode,
As enforcers having insufficient load.
Basin’s empty, that’s what the gossips tell!
Hey, that’s an interesting story to sell.
Witnesses have their posed for FB cover
Looking proud and exclaimed,“I was there!”
Flame won over peoples’ hopes!
Since they keep on saving forks and scoops!

Preparedness
By: Tom Wright

Merely waiting
for your ship to come in
is not sufficient.
You must be dockside, prepared and
scanning the horizon.
Those who are content to wait,
life will pass by.
The prepared will always
cause something to happen.
The opportunity you seek
may or may not come.
But never fail because
you were unprepared.
Of much greater importance is
the spiritual side of your life.
While "The old ship of Zion"
will come, many will be left dockside.
The procrastinators,
who had plenty of time,
those who believed in luck or chance,
and yes, those who chose to just wait.
The unprepared will be doomed
to an eternity in hell.
"Where The Worm Dieth Not
And The Fire Is Not Quenched".
It is far better for one's ship
to come late than to come early
and find us unprepared.
"But Of That Day & Hour Knoweth
No Man, No, Not The Angels Of Heaven,
But My Father Only".

Desire Obtain Preparedness

EVEN swaying mountains are smoother hungry clouds

And your ticklish roseate lips like match-lit dewdrops

are not a memory but realized onward and carried

within an old man’s satchel; depressed lines as thick

as unfeeling skin; a path to have traveled until the ending

unlike the empty nest that’s screaming.
