Prepared For Possibilities

It pays to be prepared for possibilities None of us know what the future brings Some of us may face unwanted setbacks Before the proverbial "fat lady sings." Things we never could've imagined Unforeseen illness, a sudden accident Things happen that we least expect, Things happen that seem never meant. Preparation for the unexpected can soften The hurtful impact of a knockout blow And, if we have made contingency plans We have a pre-planned direction to go. Written October 13, 2021

I am prepared for the best day ever; I took off work today since the children will not be there. I am loving it so much!

I just apologised to Susan Lawrence for taking her into the wilderness without food, water, shelter, weapon, first aid kit, nor even a snake bite kit, however, I did not expect to need them. I have rescued so many people in the deseret who burdened themselves with "what-if" baggage, but continue to "Be prepared" if that comforts you! Aloha!

I think, too, that we should not operate in fear. We concentrate on what we have to deal with as it comes our way. Like the bible says, “ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

Thanks, Kim. I suppose that's one way to look at it, but I like the Boy Scout way: Be Prepared!

The older we become the more this applies... Good one, Milt...

That is so true, Shirley, and, I think also harder to plan for in advance. Some things that happen to us older folks seem to have a sense of urgency or come on us quickly.
