The Cat's Story

I hear every noise and the house stirs
as he lies in bed. His door is shut
but I smell him on everything
he’s touched in the loft.

I listen to the sound of the house
as it breathes.

He allows minutes on his lap
each morning, pats my head
and brushes me away.

Then he is gone.

O how he forgets he’s mine.

He says he’s doing errands
but he forgets what’s important—

Me.

I go downstairs to check
on the others as they
sleep through the day.

I go upstairs and sit
on a box at the top
of the steps.

The room is an empty chamber.

AMERICA POINT OF VIEW

Without geography
The USA is this world
Others, mere planets...

Japan is in Russia
Brazil is in China
China is out there in the world...!

Geography is a personal study
of the USA... Others are satellites

His 9 was my 6

You said I never tried enough,
But I thought showing up was love.
I held your hand through quiet storms,
But never knew how deep they cut.

You wanted words —
I gave you time.
You wanted truth —
I gave you signs.
You asked for more than I could name,
And all I gave felt just… the same.

I saw your tears, I heard your cries,
But all I did was memorize
The way your anger masked your ache —
I thought, “She’s mad. I’ll give her space.”

I didn’t read between your lines.
I thought we’d heal with passing time.
But silence grew where warmth had been,
And now I hear you… in your pen.

The book you wrote — it speaks of me.
A ghost of what I tried to be.
You say I vanished, broke your heart…
But darling, I was torn apart.

I wasn’t right, I wasn’t kind —
But I was scared and misaligned.
And when you said you'd tell them all,
I built a wall. I let us fall.

You called it love. I called it pain.
Two hearts that broke beneath the strain.
We both were right in our own way —
But I regret I walked away.

point of view

Point of view
By: Jordan Small

I'm scared of you and the power of your words.
Your whispers are louder than my shouts.
My screams go unheard while your lies are praised.
Take a look from my point of view.
The fear is undoubtedly taking over.
Fear that I might just become another number.
I hope to see the light of another day.
Eyes open wide, I start to pray.
My brothers and sisters are forced to their knees, powerless, weakened, and helpless.
wondering if today will be their last.
Countless times, I prevent myself from going to places I don’t feel welcome.
For If I go, I fear I may not come back.
Take a look from My point of view.
157 years later.
A community seeking to neglect this prejudice continues with the same tendencies.
But we are no better than them.
Brothers bounded by culture are torn apart by ignorance.
Blinded by revenge.
Hatred fueled by sorrow.
Actions compelled by anger
Take a look from My point of view.
I hope that this community will come together as one.
Because I’m tired of seeing a repeated story with different characters.
The next time you act solely on emotions.
Take a look from My point of view.

My Point of View

Onigiri is another level,
I don't know a place called Seattle,
I took a ladle,
Put it on a table,
I don't know where I'm going at,
I took a sat,
I see myself as a lad,
I don't want to be sad,
I took a notepad,
From the wad,
I stare at the ceiling,
As if I'm on a sailing,
I am not wailing,
But I am piling,
All the reasons I left behind,
For now, I am not resigning,
From what I am trying to define,
The meaning of refine,
I remind myself the since,
I don't take a Hinch,
Even a sinch,
Over something that is so clingy,
To hold onto a blingy,
My burger is zingy,
With a taste I hold onto,
With a pinch of cilantro,
It is my intro,
I keep on going,
For what I am doing,
I love myself in this song,
Is this what I am looking for?
Until my hands are sore,
To the day, I want to do the chores,
Look, it is my other course,
I try to find the source,
Here is my sauce.

it is all about perspective I believe
not that my faith is big enough yet
but a short while ago which
seems like an eternity right now
my problems seemed as large
as I could have ever imagined in
self-inflicted short-sightedness

today they appear to me like
a fully grown elephant squeezed
into a miniature bird cage
the feeder quite empty apart
from nutrition for the truncated beast
key thrown away with no way to escape
pull out tray full of detritus
bar spacing tightly wound together
replacement thumb screws digging deep
into my skin parchment heart and soul

they say when it rains it pours
I was not prepared for the deluge however
apocalyptic floods and overflowing torrents
locked in a weir bursting all it contains

one more dry tear
and my drowning is complete
maybe someone can rescue
the cage and the trapped animal

My Life's Point Of View

Success is not always
for me to walk fast
But it's up for me who
won't stop walking.

No matter what
Life must go on
But I walked backward
It's too difficult.

Dog can't talk
But I'm comfortable with them
People can talk
But I'm not comfortable staying with them.

Lost Man point of view

but my life
so full of the past
rests as an unforgettable moment
or just stays
 in that despair
of an empty hope
lost on the road
with no visible path
and without a pleasant future...
 to trust...

Some people say I'm strange,
I guess that could be true.
They just don't understand,
My kaleidoscopic view.

When the world gets them down,
They tap into their pain.
When the sky begins to cry,
I'll just dance in the rain.

All the unhappy couples,
That made a choice to wed.
My contentment's complete,
While alone in my bed.

Those taught to judge others,
By the color of their skin.
The only message I'll share,
Don't put 'em down, let 'em in.

Too many cower in fear,
They're so afraid of death.
But when the Reaper comes for me,
I won't curse my final breath.

It isn't rocket science,
Or some complicated math.
Just the willingness by me,
To walk down my own path.

Premium MemberSea Turtle Point of View

Coral reefs are dangerous some entities say
Not to me maybe because I know of no other way
The corals are gorgeous, but can hurt your toes
I swim through these reefs loving their glows.

I am comfortable in these waters so deep
Predators are about, but I know where to sleep.
I love the beautiful waters of the South American sea.
If you want to experience life, come and visit me.

The colors will be so dazzling, they will hurt your eyes.
You will have to wear goggles, no big surprise
I am eagerly waiting to introduce you to my kind of sea.
Just book a flight to Brazil and come follow me.

Point of View

You see a junkie, I see
Low self-esteem.
You see a problem, I see someone
Swimming against the stream.

You see a coke fiend, I see
Pain and fear.
You see a criminal, I see
A bum-steer.

You see an alcoholic, I see
Social-anxiety.
You see a loser, I see
Future sobriety.

You see an addict, I see
Someone's child.
  You see a disgrace, I see someone's
Problems compiled.

You see a prostitute, I see someone
Caught in addiction.
You see a jail bird, I see
Their conviction.

  You see a self-centered person,
I see the disease.
  You see death,
I see someone ill at ease.

  You see a pill head,
I see someone in pain.
You see no hope, I see
Someone caught in the rain.

You see a lost cause, I see
A willing to change.
You see someone evil, I see
The exchange.

  You see denial, I see
Someone willing to try.
You see them in hell, I see
A person reaching for the sky.

  You see a dope-fiend, I see
A new soul.
You see a creature, I see the
Way out of the hole.

  You see a lost person,
I see their heart.
  You see the end,
I see a new start.

Different Point of View

People see situations in different ways,
If I always tried to instant it’d take up all my days,
Sometimes I put in the effort,
But it just makes my head hurt,
Sometimes I don’t know how to feel,
But others are busy going off on a spiel,
In all I’d like to say I give up,
But if people ask if I’m listening I still say yup
