“Much Ado About Nothing”
Romeo’s love doesn’t fall through,
As Tybalt piques his fancy too.
And Juliet,
Not in love yet
Chills out on Tinder and Temu.
William, don’t mind the premise pick,
The rhymes have moved on so to speak;
Short and lightweight -
It’s shooting straight,
Not a sonnet, a limerick.
No tragic twists, no tricksy lies,
No fam’ly feuds to dramatize.
It might be viewed
Vulgar and lewd -
But no one kills and no one dies!

The most baby blue, two-storied house; baby blue chimney;
and milk-chocolate-brown rooftop. A whimsical triangle pine,
in front and ‘longside the home, seems to be atop a hill,
newly covered in pearl-gray white snow.
Spheres of snow, descending and ascending - spirited
prayers on Jacob’s ladder. Chimney, roof, house, and
fence posts dotted with drips of snow. Likewise, snow
shudders underneath the shutters eyelids.
Posts, of beige, baby pink, milk chocolate and tawny,
wrapped in holly berries and leaves; Coal-black iron gate,
more open than closed with crafted hearts.
Home surrounded by holly berry arch - perhaps a red cardinal
will alight and give a delightful nibble on a berry or two.
The pine and shutters, piquant. Ponders the apple of the eye,
stitched to the variance of woven threads, surely by foible,
needle and fragile fingers, not reaching for perfection,
but perfectly piques the curiosity for a poet’s meditation.

Polar Bear
White on white, barely seen,
Its senses aroused and keen.
The legs move cautiously,
And paws touch snow softly;
The chionophile mills, then stills.
And breathes intermittently,
While its heart beats slowly,
With black nose sniffing,
And brown eyes squinting;
Ears prick forward, listening.
Something tells the bear,
Something is out there!
A scent in the breeze
Or a sound echoing,
That piques its curiosity.
Early spring and darkness evaporates,
The bay ice makes hunting excellent.
A solitary predator by reason
Except in season,
The boar proceeds in that direction.

Cottage cheese or curds and whey
I try to eat some every day
I generally can find a way
But always after morning weigh
So that my weight I won’t inveigh
There’s not much market for the curd
And on its face, that seems absurd
For surely if you got the word
You to would find that you preferred
The clumpy product from the herd
Which some claim gives relief with gerd
Now some of you do yogurt seek
Downing cartons as we speak
Fruity flavors interest piques
But if you eschew the plain Greek
You'll just fatten your physique

Wind rustles her cover
whining of pups distract
wafting scent entices
weariness piques her need
weakness seduces her
wiliness picks her prey
wantonness her attack

Opportunities
A niche where hearts are pulsating,
Naught per romance, just a named else,
Craved sought fortune whilst this waiting,
Since pockets reveal relaxed belts,
Jeopardy match struck near seconds
A drawn prey of risk worth taking,
Parley rouse ere should that beckons,
Monies heaped, a slice of staking,
What class piques out, tis be benign,
Tis quiz of fate its aim be won,
Midst punctured eyes those shuttered, blind,
Till be, zero hid, neath that sun,
Ere tis performed, its role in sport,
Gain or lose, as heartbeats purport.

Corrosion of our country‘s values piques
our interest; cuddled minds with cudgels speak
and bark, confused by all but tribal laws,
subconscious minds coddled with pride. The fall
is sure to come, and the Great Seal — break.
Democracy at stake, and still none wake,
as all our rights contort. Through fear or spite
competing visions won’t align; what’s right?
And who decides? It’s no surprise that each,
effulgent with conceit, decides to teach
his point of view is true. And, who will die?
The thousands yet to scream, as both still try
to conquer what was one, but now divides.
Attach your signature. Right here. Beside.

Malevolent demon,
Exploiter of pure malice,
And funny business,
Sif's whorish haircut
Enraged Thor, then soothes gods,
With tripartite gifts,
Goaded Balder's death,
Had perverse shape-shiftier Thokk
More appeasing piques,
Clings Narvi's bowels,
Whilst pains cured by Sigyn's bowl,
Vows evil frequents.

Words speak
As fancy piques
Touch tells
Just how wit dwells
Works brief
Beyond mere grief
Verse prize
Rhymes that surprise
Writes stream
Upon a dream
Fate stays
As joy now plays
One look
Can dance and hook
Brief gist
Tells of fine list
This day
Has much to say
Look round
For fate comes round
Buzz then
That moment when
Speak out
But do not shout
Love signs
Fond peace of mind
Joy knows
A lovely glow
Love calls
To transcend gall
Hope sings
Of faith that swings
In time
Such mystic chimes

Sight
In sure light
Feels happy flight
Feel
In crisp will
Gains fond thrill
Touch
Weaves as such
More than much
Sound
Watch heart ground
Lost yet found
Smell
What now dwells
That piques tell
Taste
In proud haste
What makes waste
Voice
A deep poise
As clear choice
Look
To wise books
As zeal hooks
Zest
In prime quest
Words the best
Quiz
Taut tale tease
In grand squeeze

How I love to wear a vest!
It really piques my interest.
For though it's kind of like a sweater,
Somehow, stylish-wise, it's better.
Whether made of down or tweed,
For warmth, it's what all wardrobes need.
With buttons, snaps or halves that zip,
It helps its wearer look quite hip.
So my advice, to spruce your flair
And make your outfit debonair,
Just top your shirt when you get dressed
With, as you might have guessed, a vest!
