Vested

How I love to wear a vest!
It really piques my interest.
For though it's kind of like a sweater,
Somehow, stylish-wise, it's better.

Whether made of down or tweed,
For warmth, it's what all wardrobes need.
With buttons, snaps or halves that zip,
It helps its wearer look quite hip.

So my advice, to spruce your flair
And make your outfit debonair,
Just top your shirt when you get dressed
With, as you might have guessed, a vest!

Found it! What I figured out is that a vest is slenderizing. When sleeves are the same as the rest of the top, arms and chest appear as one unit, thus a person’s width appears as wide as from outer arm to outer arm. In contrast, when sleeves are a separate entity, a person’s width appears only as wide as their torso.

A vest can be nice when you have to think twice. Whether weather is warm or cool. For if it's too cold, you'll feel bought and sold. Feeling maybe, you're kind of a fool. :)

Another gem! You have created such a 'fitting' tribute to a garment that is today so overlooked and underappreciated. ~ Gershon

I presume the meaning of a vest is different in the US as ours are undergarments and this sounds like it goes over your clothes and looks stylish!:-) hugs jan xx

I happen to have few, but don't recall any being as cute as this poem. Really enjoyed the read. All the best ... CayCay
