Manners are the party fancy —
Petit goldleaf on the melting pudding,
A sticking cream now on your fingers,
Immovable for hours.
Manners like a lady,
Her morning bonnet pinned,
Perching, tilting in the wind.
That flat earth, mountained at the dome,
With feather shores and flower groves,
Shiny plastics, false as those at home.

Nods and bobs and toothy smiles,
Inflections in their proper place,
But my greetings, lumbersome and cumbering,
Like falling up the carpet staircase.

Admire my racing stripes—
How fast they run my eager thoughts,
Like greyhounds on the track.
Striped in life, strung up in death,
A dripping turkey, limbs akimbo.
My brain is too human for me,
My tongue declares me animal,
Its words condemn me man.

So I crave the choking baby squeeze,
Until my secrets spill, hurled,
Bile like from the lemon press,
Dribbling, a puddle,
A sour sting to wipe your turgid eyes,
And join the salty swimming race.

Premium MemberSpring Rain

The dark sky stretches across the heights.
Overcast clouds roam, late at night.
The round moon does not reveal its rays.
The snow on the peaks may melt away.

In the morning, the sparrows fly joyfully,
Plucking flowers and perching in the trees.
A pair of wild doves appears sad and silent,
While blackbirds search for worms with talent.

Spring flowers bloom along the front fence,
Like a group of teenagers practicing a dance,
Watching the rain play in the new season.
The small leaves will take turns next month.

The spring blends both sad and happy
It is a rule that governs human society
There is a desire for couples to despise
Thus, we all change from time to time

National Poetry Month

River, Heart, Gaze, Eclipse, Lush, Tender
-------------------------------------
A gentle flowing RIVER
reflecting an ECLIPSED moon
no tides, no pretended pull,
unlike influenced ocean
flows TENDERLY not hurting
dear lives depending on her

LUSH vibrant gulmohar trees
stand sentinel banking her
where greenish feathery leaves
sway to give full shade decor
They speak in new love whispers,
meaningless sweet so nothings

Oh! Tired song birds sleep-perching
light on frail branches of trees
Embrace lovers' ambience,
a lullaby to HEART'S fill
Stars GAZE in combined wonder
at glistening mild river

Somewhere near, a lonely heart
immersed in soothing music
Asks the cool breeze to carry
harmonics and secret notes
listeners hear, walkers walk
towards divine melody

Quote-
"At the end of rainbow the couple found their pot of gold breathtaking."
By Author

At the end of the rainbow
A couple romanced
Under the arches of love
So vibrant, timely, and colorful
Stretching under the sheets of the sky
And the pillows of the clouds
A bed of two roses perching toward the sun
Slowly, softly, sensually, and simultaneously
The spectrum of two turning to one
As the couple raced in cadence
With the passing rainbow
And kaleidoscope
Weathering nature's course naturally
Such wildness of this aphrodisiac
And mimicking the flapping birds above
The wings of love stretching
And flying freely, arching and releasing
Happily ending ...
Then landing in a field of rain showers

Premium MemberHow the echo filters reality -POTW

charcoal grey horizon~
on the rusty cast iron bench
my old self sits in pensive mood
beside the lake beneath December sky
the wayward wind as it teases my hair
whispers melodies from long ago~
that breath echo in the air

the echo reverberates ~
weaving fragments into vivid voices
and symphonies of yesteryears
my grandma's lullaby
our high-school graduation song
then tender laughters
of children at play fill the air
then comes the echo
of my father's sobbing voice
as he handed me to my groom
on that Saturday afternoon
whilst the organist played
the Wedding March by Mendelssohn

as the echo fades
and turns tenebrous twilight
into enchanting ebony evening

I look around ~
the coffee shop behind me
inviting for another cup
whilst the coffee on my lap
gets colder and colder
yet not as cold as the winter chill
perching inside of me

The Lonely Scarecrow

A hat of burlap, worn and frayed,
With buttons for eyes and a smile handmade.
His skin of cloth, stitched and worn,
His bones of wood, splintered and torn.

A shirt of plaid, its colors faded,
Stuffed with straw, his form created.
Sleeves hang loose with patches sewn,
A rustic figure, all alone.

He stands amid the winding rows,
Where shadows dance, and daylight slows.
Where golden stalks, like soldiers stand,
A silent sentinel of the land.

As dusk descends, feet drum the ground,
Echoing through the maze around.
Ghouls and goblins, wild and bright,
A fairy, a pirate, lost in delight.

He stands his guard, bound firm and tight,
With button eyes as still as night.
A witness to the joy he’ll never share,
Watching the world with his empty stare.

A crow arrives, with caw and glide,
Perching close, a friend by his side.
An unlikely pair, the fields they roam,
Scarecrow and Crow, finding a home.

Premium Memberspooked by a Hoot

As a child at night, tucked up into bed

counting sheep would never work for me

counting only up to three

then drifting from my head

An imagination Big enough

self-sabotaging dread

a shadowed figurine

with glowing eyes instead

whistling gusts of wind

the creepy creaking shed

What if something hungry lurked outside

 looking to be fed

its favourite snack was little girls, with ringlet curls

who wore Pjs colour red

scared but curious, I tiptoed across and carefully I tread

perching by my window

oddly sitting on the ledge

was a creature looking back

tilting slow its head

A frightening hoot so loud

was why I spun around, and to my parent's room

whizzingly I fled

The Ship Of Happiness

 The ship of happiness sails
Intently across indigo skies
Laughter mingled with roaring gales ,
She gleams like an autumn sunrise
Perching near fields of lingering green
Where often scrawny lads frolic ,
She listens to echoes of the roaring linns ,
And rests near houses made of mud & sticks ,
The ship of happiness sails
Amidst scents of apricot & lavenders
Through shades of rainbows
Towards unforseen adventures ,
When the ship of happiness arrives
I call her a blessing in disguise
As she brings treasures of merriment
Into everyone's lives .

Some Say September

Some say April is the cruelest month, leaving
Lilacs upon unmarked graves, grieving
Memories fading and desires, aching
To be filled as the undertaker, undertaking
Daydreams of warmer hands and seaside towns

Some say September is the cruelest, harkening
Back to wounds still so very deep, darkening
The sky and every teary eye that looks up, searching
For a dove, a crow, a bluebird, perching
On a branch beside a single leaf of brown.

Premium MemberThe Christmas Alligator

He prowl very still across
the calm merky waters
I can see him and he can
see me with his big yellow
eyes his pupils are lime
green slowly he crawls not
even shooing the cranes
from off his back he crawls
past the woodstorck perching
on one leg the tall Cypress
trees seems to sway as the
moisture dampens the earth
it's July already Christmas
trees are ready to be cut and
shipped off in time for the
Christmas season I love this
time of year although the heat
covers the swamp not a breeze
in sight the female alligators
panted all night laying eggs
upon the drift wood herons
flying high as egrets feast
on snakes the sun peeks in
around noon as the alligators
approached the grass sun
bathing watching the golfers
tee off sipping brandy in all
this heat commotion beckons
someone fishing just lost a limb
my mind wanders the nature
of this prehistoric giant unseen
until prey invade his space again
chomp bones breaking cracking
like branches the lake swells wails
screeching lots of feathers the
deer rush through the forest just
keep moving continue on stop your
squawking and keep on walking

Premium MemberSpring

Winter is coming to its striking end
Winning crowns for its glorious fulfillment
Lush greenery soon grows its perfect blend
With multi-hues in mesmerizing vent.

While sunrise showers blessings on the ground
Flying critters delight on bursting tones
Every green spot struggles to peek, to mound
Engulfed by confetti dropped on wide zones.

Birds perching on bushes to huge trees sing
Midst the stillness of fresh flowing rivers
Wind’s wings of comforts hug in sweetest swing
With spring’s promises of hope forever.

Whitest thick clouds glide from the bluest sky
Unveiling spring’s wonder from God Most High!

Bel Canto What's Ruining me What's Ruining Us

One's perspective
might be the precursor to his down fall
when it's all or nothing
he might end up
with know one at all
betrayal of ah lover
has real consequenses
a fool only loves someone
that he only misses
a celebration doesn't make you
a celebrity
I've found someone else
we're alone when it's just you and me
can't do that round here
everyone know's were married
they push us around snear
it's, get and gone; Ya'll hurry, hurry!
we sneak away to find romance
in romantic places
see people we know
we hide our selfs
or turn our faces

Divoice my wife
you divoice your husband
then we can be together
we been saying this
seems like forever
People tell us
they don't want us around
call us stupid said I was a clown
dark skies when they
come your way
find shelter
that's what people say
a combination of
activities and obligations
divided time and loyalties
stressed out don't wanna
make decisions
perching around like
a pigeon
lose my tread of thought
can't pay attention
you my wife
you my lover
