Peekaboo

Valentine’s straddling bikes, hiking it to the mall.
Youthful and carefree; passing trees in revelry,
as the sun plays peekaboo through its leaves.
Half a heart, each. Each pounding the busy streets.
A flirty wind blows her hair; his face valentine-red.
Valentine’s carefree peekaboo - half flirty.

The Bald Eagle circled above the crowd
They gathered for an eclipse party!
People set up their chairs outside 
as they waited for a special solar eclipse
Slowly, the moon moved into the light
as the sun played peekaboo from behind it
The moon continued to hide the sun from us

Each time l see it
Without fail it makes me smile
With its peekaboo look
Such a cute inquisitive style

The sweetest face
That would never scowl
It just tugs at my heart

Peekaboo Flowers

Indigo peekaboo flowers 
Thriving after April showers
Showing me your calming powers
Relaxing finally after hours
Loving you so much my dainty flowers

Spring Peekaboo

Today, the long lost sun plays peekaboo,
prodding patches of snow to evaporate.
Green tinges on trees faintly accentuate
bare branches with a halo effect in view.
Yawning yellow daffodils nod and protrude,
after egregiously succeeding to navigate
winter weather alerts sent to intimidate.
Tornadoes rage in April's snowstorms too.
Lackadaisical plant growth from lack of light
fosters fortuitous environmental confusion.

Peekaboo

Fifth floor walk-up, light is fading, 
lamp is lit, the curtains stay pulled back;
loose-limbed and limber like a tiger 
set to spring she's geared up for 
the evening's entertainment. 
Hungry eyes in mirrored windows watching,
palms sweaty and expectant. 
She's on her mettle, 
going through her game plan 
with a slow and sensual grace, 
puddling her
