Outwits Poems | Examples

Ye Sailors

When you learn that your heroes are demons
And nothing lives up to its promise
And that all this time, you were only dreaming
And there never was such a thing as ‘honest’

Disappointment
Deflation
It’s a saddening situation
So screw up the compass
Fire the brand
Keep setting the course for sturdy land
But don’t look to me for navigation,
Ye sailors of the drowning heart

When that whale of your loss outwits you
And you’re hobbled and crippled, not a leg to stand on
May your friends be there when it suddenly hits you
There's at least one post you can abandon
(Called life)

Disappointment
Deflation
It’s a maddening situation
So screw up the compass
Fire the brand
Keep setting the course for sturdy land
But don’t look to me for navigation,
Ye sailors of the drowning heart

When the sails of clarity cease to guide you
Or protect you from the swirls of Sirens,
There’s this stubborn and strange little fire inside you
With the patience of saints and the pride of lions

Set your moral compass
And fire the brand
Keep setting the course for sturdier land
But don’t look at me for navigation,
Ye sailors of the drowning heart

Premium Member The Finger

I’m told the pen’s mighty and outwits the sword
but my finger is stronger and won’t be ignored.
It pokes and it swipes and it rants in a roast
then it quickly DELETEs to disguise my last post.

Though swords, they can cut, and pens, they can shame
the press of a button initiates flame.
All humor aside, I’ll admit it’s a crime
when I set fire to gasoline, dressed up in rhyme.

So, I’ll UPLOAD with caution and hold taut my lip
and think before shooting my words from the hip…
and I’ll walk-off responses so quick to offend,
keeping fingers off buttons like RE-ply and SEND.

Premium Member Rose and Me

She, like a pink Garnet or rubies, has attracted me,
Her, as my playmate of childhood, all around I could see;
Amid dahlia, daisy, cosmos, crocus, phlox, rue, and pinks,
She has pervaded my garden as queen above all jinks...!

She was my finest gift to sweet Jesus on the altar,
Present to my first school teacher who never did falter;
She has witnessed my first love and me so sweetly flirting,
Though darling mine, like a sphere, pierced and left me hurting...!

Rose- scent ever outwits the sweet Ethiopian myrrh,
Or frankincense of Omen that makes anyone's moods stir;
Though to any friend or foe, I great benignly gift her,
To my parents, on their coffins, I could not just offer...!

Roses gifted by my wife and children, dead, still remain,
Though faded, they fill my casket, always evoking pain...!

The Generous Spirit

The daily task of life sustained by care,
the generous spirit by endeavors in dare.
The eager force that creates the path so bright,
taken the courage to the darkest invisible light.
That natural instinct of righteous concern,
with the wisdom that can perform and is diligent to learn.
Those attractions to companies in pain,
creating hope where only illusion had its stain.
Facing those who exercise the power of legislation,
showing them the moral mirror of their temptation.
Outwits the court by simple examples and their good receives,
taken stand for those who misperceives.
All is peaceable at moments in occasion rise,
which has nothing to do with sacrifice.
Regarding the helpless more so pure,
never wondering how much to endure.
Caring words and deeds of tenderness,
the law and reason of spirit depends.
Declaring the forces of evil so overrated,
when only fear is the dilemma understated.
Never taken the written laws as foundation test,
when he knows that beliefs are not the human best.
Taken virtue in quality of action to the rest.

Premium Member Quilt Patchwork

Quilt patchwork lines from verse of old,
Urge of past poise hurls a fine say;
Ink stains not mine in grooves once told,
Look to shape voice in a new way;
Touch thrills clear flow to cast clear mime.
Play of sweet sketch to prime straight face,
Arc as blooms show a stretch of rhyme;
Taste astounds match to spice still space,
Charm outwits need to fit odd bits;
High hopes prize bask in lasting squeeze,
Work fondles seed to humour wit;
Opt sensuous task in choice of breeze,
Rush of lush sounds that echo here,
Kindred lines ground in mosaic spheres.

Meet moments meek through troubled times,
Yield to the soul what heart knows best.
Give what you seek as contrast rhymes,
Reap a true whole that flavours quest;
Align with mind that you may know,
Notice the way life happens then;
Dance as you find peace that funds glow.
Primal the play on where and when,
Rise as you fall with focus right,
Opt to dare breeze each trial you face;
Juice bitter gall as taste delights,
Etch timely squeeze to glimpse fond grace;
Choice actions poise in happy stay,
Touch outwits noise in precious sway.

Premium Member Batman - For Contest

Terror has returned to the heart of Gotham City
Commissioner Gordon’s task sure isn’t pretty
Penguin, the Joker and Riddler are back on the scene
Stirring terror in our hearts, they sure are so mean
Wearing his mask and cape is our hero Bruce Wayne
With Batman around we hope peace will reign
Driving at the speed of light, you can hear the tyres squeal
When Batman is behind the wheel of the ‘Batmobile’
Batman doesn’t possess specific super powers
But he outwits the villains for many hours
Working together with is his faithful sidekick Robin
ZAP! KAPOW! Soon the villain’s heads are throbbing
Above the city buildings way up high
The Batman spotlight illuminates the sky
With the criminals locked up in jail, their job is done
They return to the ‘Batcave’ after a successful outcome

Echoes From the Street

ECHOES FRO THE STREET
VOICES OF DECEIT
FLAMES OF FURY FREELY LIT
DANCE STEPS AND RHYTHMS OF A DRUMLESS BEAT

SICKENING THOUGHTS IN SICKENED MINDS
IMPENDING MELEE WITHOUT SIGN
FORWARD AND ONWARD MOVEMENT OF TIME
IMPERSONATIONS AND DELIBeRATIONS ON THE FRONTLINE

SHRILLING SHOUTS OF JOY AND PAIN
AND FREELY MOVES THOSE ONES INSANE
PARADOX UNLEASHED IN QUEST OF GAIN
ETHICAL PALSY OUTWITS THE CAIN

ECHOES FROM THE STREET
WHISPERS OF LOVE AND HATE
ERRORS THAT CANT DELETE
PORTMANTEAU CONDITION THAT REITERATE

We Wish It Is Not True

Our crazy hurry outwits our wits
We wish it is not true. the car speed.
The restaurants. the caution in the winds.
The rape and early sex the little child
Now knows, whose overwhelming juvenility
Had made men mad and wild
We too are perpetrators of the deed
That beckons wails and mourning
For with each dawn, true sense's warnings
Is out our dirty door. we too that bear
Pain's monstrous knife pierce our tender hearts.
Not just the cat burglars, beware
At whose wasting call joy departs
Or the inane thugs in the creeks
Who adulterated our kerosene
And operate on the filthy lane;
Where accidents and deserters are the bane
Of this dying days. killing the savior of
The crying child. making us handicaps,
Our earnest dreams elusive as elusive can be
And making mere men elements of sheer disgrace.
